Paradoxically, I am also a Grandfather

August 31, 2009 in Blogs

Today I posted the latest in Examiner temporal anomalies articles, Temporal Theory 101:  What is a grandfather paradox?.  It distinguishes two separate temporal problems that are sometimes confused by the use of the same name, and promises to address them in future articles.

It is fortunate that I had it ready in advance, as yesterday my time was consumed by a combination of personal matters which included visiting my own granddaughter and returning home well past very late.

It Was Bound To Happen

August 27, 2009 in Blogs

A combination of family health issues, transportation equipment problems, and communications failures have chewed through much of my week and particularly today, such that the day (Thursday) was very nearly over before I managed to post the latest temporal anomalies article at The Examiner, this one Temporal Theory 101:  What is a predestination paradox?.  Tonight is pretty shot, and tomorrow’s already looking bad thanks to delays on the repairs all the way around.

But that happens all the time.

Would I Have More Time in a Parallel World?

August 24, 2009 in Blogs

Today’s errands have put me behind schedule, but at least I did get the next Examiner temporal anomalies article posted, Temporal Theory 101:  What is Sideways Time?

I Get to Continue

August 21, 2009 in Blogs

I posted another temporal anomalies article at The Examiner, this one answering Temporal Theory 101:  What is an N-jump?.

I forgot to let anyone know.

I’ve also had several comments there, which I’ve answered, but most are good.

Over and Over Might Be Over

August 17, 2009 in Blogs

Earlier this evening I delivered into the care of professional medical personnel the person for whom I have been caring in my home intermittently since the beginning of the year.  Her condition has deteriorated to the point that it was becoming unsafe for us to attempt to provide her care.  At this point, the best hope is that someone will be able to provide that care for her remaining years, and that life here might return to what passes for normal.  At least I should be able to make medical and other appointments for myself without worrying about who will watch her.

I also managed to post the latest Examiner time travel article, this one Theory 101:  What is a sawtooth snap or cycling causality?  I’m also getting comments on some of the other articles, a mixed bag but that’s pretty typical.

Time has gotten very short, though; I don’t know if I can get everything else done today.

It Only Feels Like Infinite Time

August 16, 2009 in Blogs

Late Wednesday I ran an errand that kept me from bed until seven in the morning, and someone awoke me at eleven.  I did manage to post the latest Examiner temporal anomaly article, this one What is an infinity loop?  However, I was exhausted, pushed most of Thursday’s work into Friday, and then ignored much of Thursday and Friday’s work on Friday.  I wish I could say I was sleeping, but mostly I was struggling to get everything else done.  I finally managed to catch up on the sleep Friday night, and now am catching up on the work.

At least, that’s the hope.

There’s another article tomorrow.

The Anomalous Paradox Question

August 10, 2009 in Blogs

Yes, that title is a reference to a new Examiner article, Temporal Theory 101:  What is a temporal anomaly or paradox?, which quite obviously is about temporal anomalies and paradoxes.  It is a short piece, by my norms, mostly cataloging all of those I could remember, each of which will be treated in its own future article.

I had a lot of trouble getting the image to upload and appear correctly, but other than that I’d rather it were larger, it worked.

My Free Time Was Replaced

August 6, 2009 in Blogs

I only just got a chance to upload today’s Examiner article, Temporal Theory 101:  What is replacement theory?.  It seems that when I said I desperately needed to run to the store for a black printer cartridge, a passenger decided to tag along and add a few hours to the trip for other vital necessities of which I was apparently unaware.  I am now looking at very little time and the probability of major interruptions, but at least the article is up.

Diverging from the Schedule

August 4, 2009 in Blogs

I keep getting interrupted around here, and that is the single largest contributor to my absence yesterday–I managed to post the new Examiner article, Temporal Theory 101:  What is divergent dimension theory?, but never had the chance to post anywhere else to say that it had been posted.  Part of that was an upsurge of Temporal Anomalies e-mail, and I cannot be certain how much of that is directly or indirectly due to the Examiner connection.

Hopefully I will be able to get more done tonight, although the interruptions continue and I am studiously ignoring one right now.
