Day Friday of Constellation

Despite Jhiaxus of Hackmaster fame’s humorous suggstion, I will not be updating online games hourly.
I arrived at the con at the gracious invite of Craig Goodrick who had a nice setup in the game room. After a few minutes getting reaquainted with non-online roleplaying life, and watching my two sons get a short intro by N.J. to a Munchkin variant, I sent the family home.
From then on it was GURPS: Sliders until fairly late. Jason had done a superlative job on the characters, including printing out placecards with character photographs. I could quickly get used to that luxury.
The Steve Jackson games rep the next table over noted that we were playing of their games, even if not sponsored, and gave a prize and some novelty bookmarks to us.
Jason provided a wide array of alternate universes based on the Slider TV show, but centered on the University of Alabam at Huntsville. We started with Redneck Zombies after an Asteroid ‘Taps’ Earth and takes much of the atmosphere, and then it was off to Deutschland (where German got voted in as nearly happened in our history instead of the more expected Nazi Invasion…clever GM) with President Palin and a skyrocketing economy, and onward we went to a world where the Vikings had got a genetic mutation that made them regenerative with the obvious result that they took over the world, and a worfd in which the Cherokee Nation integrated with the Settlers, and another one in which Islamofascist terrorists unleashed gene spliced super spiders in America.
Very creative.
More later. I’ll try to get a few hours of rest.
