Blame It On the Holiday

January 2, 2010 in Blogs

Long before I had my once- or twice-annual perhaps four to six ounces of Asti to toast the occasion on New Year’s Eve, my brain somehow transitioned from knowing it was Thursday to believing it to be Friday, and so I never finished my Thursday work and thought I was pushing the end of my Friday work into Saturday.  This confusion remained with me most of Friday, despite several hints to the contrary, through most of New Year’s Day–at one point I wondered whether the dump (excuse me–the “convenience center” run by the township to which residents may deliver trash and recyclables and other waste products for transport to appropriate management facilities) which is only open on Wednesday and Saturday was going to be open on Sunday since it probably would not be open on New Years Day.  It was not until late Friday night that I realized that I had not only not finished Thursday, I had not even begun Friday; and here it is Saturday and I’ve done precious little to rectify either oversight.

So I apologize to all who did not receive from me whatever was expected, and hope I can catch up the work in the days ahead.

  1. I used to have that. When we would have a Monday out of school, I think Tuesday is Monday, etc, until the week is over. I hated that.
