Dreamweaving

Posted on 14 February 2009

I did not accomplish much today, in terms of the regular tasks.  There were too many personal parts of life requiring my attention.  I did dab a bit at the edition of The Third Book of Worlds, and dropped a copy of Lilith’s World into the hands of its author for his review.  I did accomplish one thing, though, which is a bit more than one thing.

I have previously mentioned books by author C. J. Henderson, whom I know from our joint appearances at Ubercon over the years.  I usually buy at least one of his books when I see him, and usually enjoy reading at least one of those I buy.  I also promise to let him know my thoughts.  Well, I figure that I would rather have my readers tell others how good my books are than tell me (although I do very much appreciate hearing it myself), so I thought I should do as much for him.  You can read my review of one of the most recent, In re:  Lai Wan:  Tales of the Dreamwalker, here at Gaming Outpost.  I’ve also started a review of the other book I read, but I’ll probably not post that for at least a few days, as I’ve much more to address.

I do have to drop him an e-mail, though, to let him know where he can read my thoughts.

Dont ask me why, but I thought this article was going to be about dreamweaver :-P

Yeah, I realized after it had saved the post title and link that I had confused Dreamwalker with Dreamweaver. At least I didn’t do that in the review.

Couldnt you have changed the permlink after you posted it because I doubt the Search engines would have seen it by then (if that was your reasoning)

I suspect that I could change the permalink (even now), if I went into the complex editing; but then, I’ve probably already linked to this article from other places, and so it wouldn’t show.

In any case, this is not the review of Tales of the Dreamwalker, but merely a blog entry stating that I had written and posted such a review. I probably did not really want the blog title to be Dreamwalking. Besides, I’m really bad at titles (I have several untitled songs in my repertoire, because I am not satisfied with any of the titles I’ve considered for them), and for the blog entries, what matters to me is that the titles are unique, so I can refer to them by name.

I am much more interested in the search engines finding the review itself than having them find the blog posting that mentions that I wrote the review, and they ought to be able to pick up the book’s title from the blog’s text, so that should work well enough to promote the other.
