What’s Next

I notice that Eric Ashley is now showing as one of the most popular topics here, because every time he writes an article I mention him in my blog and note him as a topic.  He’s written a few more.

Before I get to those, though, I’ve begun a new temporal anomalies series at The Examiner, with the initial article Next part 1:  the setup.  The summary of the summary would be that Nicholas Cage’ character can see the future and change it based on that knowledge, which raises all kinds of interesting notions about time travel and prediction–but that’s why there’s an article series.

Now, to look briefly at the extensive additions from Eric, it begins with Practise Bits:  Piercing, something of a bit of medieval burglary told from the perspective of an assistant who isn’t terribly happy with his teacher’s methods.  Practise Bits:  Consultant is a bit on the long side for Eric’s fair, but an interesting and rather involved story of political intrigue and the debt of an old friendship.  In Practise Bits:  Cut, the lone swordsman stands against a warrior horde to defend the weak and possibly prove a point.  Practise Bits:  Race plays with the fact that in different worlds there are different forms of discrimination and prejudice.  Finally, today’s addition is Practise Bits:  Pressure 1, which appears to be a light psychological leading to–something which I’m guessing is continued in a forthcoming Pressure 2, and although he gives more than I gave, that would just spoil it.

I had a very strange day.  After picking up someone around one thirty in the morning and providing dinner for her and myself, I got to bed sometime after three; I got up before six to have someone else to work by seven, and was back abed before eight, but up again at nine thirty to have someone else to work by ten, and somewhere close to eleven I was back abed, but rousted at one to help with an unanticipated problem, and collapsed back into sleep twenty minutes later.  I knew nothing else until almost five, and had a laundry list of work to do.

Speaking of laundry lists, one of those was laundry, which is only half finished or less, so I’d better go check on it.  Then perhaps I shall have to cut things out of today, because it seems I have at least part of that same schedule tomorrow.
