			<description>&#60;p&#62;There's been an interesting discussion in connection with an old (1999) John Wick article in the archives here, &#60;a href=&#34;http://gamingoutpost.com/article/hit_em_where_it_hurts/&#34; rel=&#34;nofollow&#34;&#62;http://gamingoutpost.com/article/hit_em_where_it_hurts/&#60;/a&#62; &#60;em&#62;Hit 'em Where It Hurts:  There's More Than One Way to Kill a Champions Character&#60;/em&#62;.  I thought I'd call attention to it, as I'm interested in the thoughts of some of you.  You're welcome to post there or here, as you like.&#60;/p&#62;

			<description>&#60;p&#62;For anyone who missed it, I've posted a new article on the site.  It's exploring a nuance of Edwards' Big Model, in connection with how social contract develops in practice.  I am interested in thoughts on the subject.  I'm not even sure it's all that significant an insight, but in the discussions I was reading people seemed to be talking around it without recognizing it, so many it's worth something.&#60;/p&#62;

			<title>M. J. Young on "Old Series Names?"</title>

			<description>&#60;p&#62;Aaron, I'm trying to remember the names of some of the old article series that ran here.  I know that Seth's was Dreaming Out Loud, and of course mine was Game Ideas Unlimited; but a lot of them had banners when they first ran, so in the conversion to the new format the ubertitles were lost and only the episode titles remain.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;I vaguely remember that there was a Game Design Journal, or something close enough to that which was frequently abbreviated GDJ, and there was another column called Game Design Step-By-Step, but I'm not sure whether that ran concurrently or came from somewhere else.  Wick wrote one of these (the development of his OrkWorld game), and I think the other was Skarka.  Skarka had a second series later, concurrent with Game Ideas Unlimited and Dreaming Out Loud, at which time you also had the Thursday column and there was someone else whose name and series names I cannot now recall who ran on Monday (which if memory serves means Skarka was on Tuesday and Seth on Wednesday, but I'll see that when I get there).&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;If you remember the names of any of these columns, I'll tag the articles accordingly as I go.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Thanks.&#60;/p&#62;

			<title>M. J. Young on "Article Confusion"</title>

			<description>&#60;p&#62;Aaron et al.--&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;We've hit a bit of a glitch with the article software.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;On May 6, 1999, Gary Gygax' article &#60;em&#62;What's In a Name?&#60;/em&#62; was posted to the site; it dealt with whether computer role playing games deserved to be called role playing games at all.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;On August 7, 2001, Seth Ben-Ezra posted an entry in his Dreaming Out Loud series by the same title, &#60;em&#62;What's In a Name?&#60;/em&#62;.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Unfortunately, the links in the archives that are supposed to take me to Gary's article are taking me to Seth's--and so are the links that are supposed to be to Seth's article.  I cannot find Gary's article on the current server.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;I suspect that there's a different name--probably a number or something inserted in Gary's.  I remember noticing that when two articles of the same name one was given a number, but I don't remember what number, how it was added, or what articles they were.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;I was adding tags to articles, and started to tag Seth's article with Gary's name--a mistake, I fortuitously realized before saving.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Any idea how I get the articles when the system files them incorrectly?&#60;/p&#62;

			<description>&#60;p&#62;Aaron--&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;&#60;a href=&#34;http://gamingoutpost.com/discussions/profile/JohnA1nut&#34;&#62;John A1nut&#60;/a&#62; has been having problems posting comments to the articles section.  From what I can tell, he is logged in to the forums and posts here without complication, but his posts on the articles section always listed him as &#34;Anonymous&#34; (he is not the only anonymous there, but quite a few of his comments are so listed).  Now he is unable to post over there at all.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;I thought I'll check with you as to how to resolve that problem.&#60;/p&#62;

			<title>M. J. Young on "Article System Tech Notes"</title>

			<description>&#60;p&#62;I noticed on the front page that there was a comment on an old article, so I went to see it, &#60;a href=&#34;http://gamingoutpost.com/article/game_ideas_unlimited_survival/#comment-61&#34;&#62;here&#60;/a&#62;. It looks like the work of a bot. The name &#34;Nick&#34; was hyperlinked to some sort of automotive site. I edited out both the link and the e-mail address, but left the comment (it was rather inoccuous, and editing was readily obvious while I didn't see the ability to delete until after I'd done the editing). Probably next time I would just delete the comment, but I thought I'd alert you to the possibility that there's a bot program out there that has figured out how to comment here.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;I'll keep on it.&#60;/p&#62;
