Huh--I'm sure I remembered posting a link to the thread named Edgar, and commenting about how I was going to call it something else but was too tired to think of what so I wrote that much of the title and then wrote the thread and forgot to add something to the title.

Anyway, that's where play begins.

Edgar, if that's your equipment list, then it seems that you must have been sitting naked at your computer. You did not give me the clothes you are wearing.

Let's take a step back. The rules say you start with everything you are currently wearing, and I expect you to list it in detail. You don't have to give me all the detail, but any detail you omit you cannot later claim--e.g., if you want a piece of plastic and your sheet says you have a credit card, you've got the credit card. If someone asks to see your "visa" when you're entering a country and you want to pull out the credit card that says "Visa" and try to pass it off as a visa, it has to say that you have a Visa.

Once you've covered everything you are currently wearing, you add up to two hundred pounds, within the rules given at the beginning of this thread. I can repeat them in necessary, but the short version is it all has to be your own stuff not connected to anything.

--M. J. Young

Good to have you, Edgar. I'm particularly pleased to see Katerina, who for those who haven't made the Campbell connection is Ahmetia's sister. Kat, on the forum I identify players in their game threads by their full given name--Katerina, in your case--largely to avoid a situation in which someone attempts to foist upon me an inappropriate nickname. But I'm launching your game thread Katerina's Story So Far, and hope you'll give us some background there of what happened to get you that far.

Edgar, I'm good with Brock's assessment that you have a 2@1 Intuition. The question was raised but I didn't see whether you answered whether you have yet received a GED, which would mean that you finished the equivalent of high school. It's unusual for someone to feel that they have no professional skills and no other skills in the categories I ask, but it happens.

Everyone wants you to talk with me about your fighting technique. Do you feel that you've developed something akin to a fighting style that enhances your ability to fight? If so tell me about it.

If not, then give me your equipment list.

I would think MJ would want to run him personally, yeah. I am sure MJ and him can discuss the Martial arts stuff; I know Edgar wins more often than not, and he fights dirty (seriously, seriously dirty.

For Ed Level 1@9 is some High School and 1@10 is completed High School or some equivalent. If you have a GED or some other equivalent you would have 1@10 Ed level otherwise it would be 1@9.

Name: Edgar Michael Causey III, A.K.A. hey you! (said by Brock with a smile), dumb*** (said by Brock without a smile...OK sometimes with one)

Intuition: Pretty high. I remember a fight, in seventh grade, in the changing room, I was surprised attacked and I dodged at the last possible moment, which tripped him. These kinds of things don't happen all that often, but I stay out of trouble. I notice things a lot more than everyone else. Brock says he thinks I would be 1@10 or maybe even 2@1.

Education: I finished Tenth Grade. I dropped out of High School.

Weaknesses: Bad vision (I have glasses), overweight

5"6, 265 lbs, messy brown hair, 21 but look like I am 25-ish, brown eyes, scruffy as a dog, tattoo of a star on my right inside forearm, caucasian.

Section 2: I have no notable skills in the categories described.

It appears I have gotten my friend Edgar interested enough in MV that he will be joining GO in short order. He also says he wants to buy the book and have me run him soon, too. Anyway, the point is, this is both a heads up and a thread-bump so he can find it easier.

Actually I could get away with it here. Tobacco isn't the only thing that's legal to smoke. Technically, it's designed for smoking catnip.

Then the parallel self who is becoming a millionaire selling that pipe is in a parallel universe where the buying and selling of such things is legal.

I know that in the State of New Jersey, a pipe not designed for tobacco would be considered drug paraphernalia, the possession of which is a drug possession crime. The sale of a pipe intended for such a purpose would probably be a felony.

I'm not sure whether a new kind of smoking pipe would actually make you a millionaire in a climate in which smoking is being discouraged, even if your design truly was innovative.

Well, you could start writing the book.

I'm not sure whether a new kind of smoking pipe would actually make you a millionaire in a climate in which smoking is being discouraged, even if your design truly was innovative.

As to writer's block, my solution is to keep several different projects running simultaneously, and switch to a different one when I'm stymied on one. The "different" aspect is important, because different kinds of writing use different kinds of thinking. If I'm so blocked I can't write anything, I usually eat and sleep.

Divergent paths. I have no doubt in my mind that there is a divergent version of me who is, at this time, writing a book called (Doing Therapy). He's about to become rich and famous. Sadly this is not me. (Writer's block, that's why I haven't replied to Mike's game very often lately) I also have no doubt that there is another divergent version of me, who is, at this very moment, taking out a patent on a new kind of smoking pipe, and he's about to become a millionaire. Sadly, this is not me either. Those are divergent paths my life could be taking at this stage of my existence.

It seems part of my family seemed always to live in and around Mechelen (Mechelin in English), where I am also living right now. If I can believe my father and his father, that family was part of the nobility of those days. Some of the big names in the Wikipedia article about Mechelen would be family, ar Margeret of Austria and Charles Quint and the court of Burgundy.

I figured I would finally answer this thread, since my story really hasn't advanced far since asking for this.

Thanks for answering these. I suppose the irony is that the inspiration for starting them was that I was hoping the ancestry one would give me a link I could use to say you were a direct descendant of Uther Pendragon when you were doing the sword in the stone thing. I decided that you were (which is why the sword would move for you when you touched it, but not for Geneice or Merlin).

But that's all good and useful information (I read the other threads already).

Your comment about being promoted for good performance and then fired for bad performance laterally reminds me of a story my brother tells. He was working for Home Depot in what I guess would be a corporate middle management position. They had a big shakeup and fired a lot of people, including him. A week later they fired the company president. My brother says he likes to think they realized they got the wrong guy.

Well mine is simple as I don't know much about my family ancestry, I will put what I know down.

My mothers side is Irish 100%, Keller, Irish name, long line of cops, military guys, etc.
Father's: Romanian 50%, Lithuanian 50%. Know nothing of that family history, cept a lot of military and my father mouthing off to a drill Sargent and getting punched in the jaw so hard, that it needed to be wired back together :P.

Notable family members, grandfather George F, installed the antennae on the Empire State Building. Was one of the first 20 people in the US to have a color TV, as he worked as an engineer installing TV antennas'. Cousin John, lifelong PA State Trooper, His father owned a 200 acre farm near Harrisburg. That's all I know concrete.

Hmm after grade school, I got sent to a catholic high school, so I don't have many friends, and I got rid of all my fair weather friends, I don't think that part of me would ever change.

As for careers, I had considered Architect, and went to college for Business/Finance.

Friends after college:

Dave Perry: Met him in college, was a fun guy to be around, would adapt his personality to whoever he hung out with, so he would spend a few months being my clone, and then others. Blonde, Blue Eyes, 6 feet tall, started getting influenced by the bad members of the vampire larp I used to run in, haven't seen or talked to him since 2004 after he fell into a bad crowd.

Brian Egandorf: Met him at the Vampire Larp, we are friends to this day. Black Hair, Curly, Balding, Brown Eyes, 5'10" good guy, has money issues always, but a loyal friend. He ended up getting me a job at Panasonic, which started or restarted my IT Career.

Todd Miele: Met him at the Vampire Larp, was one of the GM's popular guy everyone liked him, he has some back problems. When his mother retired, kept him from going out, Brian and I think she killed him for his money (he got ran over three times by the same car and same guy). Good guy miss him. Brown Hair, about a decade older than me, 5'5 or so.

In terms of woman, other than random girls who I would forget about I could, and the 4 or 5 I would have nothing to do with again. There is one that I date casually and if things would have been different probably would have gotten more serious.

Latishia Coleman, Caucasion, 5'3" Red Hair, Green Eyes, average built a year behind me in school, went to a sister school of my catholic high school. We are still kinda seeing each other today, been a decade of on and off.

I think that's in in terms of info.

In terms of popularity, I had/have the ability to turn on the charm when needed, but I rarely did because I didn't like what I looked like. The better I look, the better I feel, and less I give a damn about what people think. So I am normally a lone wolf or would choose not to care, ymmv.

I hard a hard day of work so with it slowing down and relaxing I figured I would finally answer this thread, since my story really hasn't advanced far since asking for this.

As for possible names, David was one, but I think between my mother's miscarriage of a brother, and her best friend choosing it for a name if her child, it didn't happen.

As far as I know, my mother was the first person in NJ, to win no visitation, a complete name change of the child in court. My full name is on my character sheet in other parts of the forum, and it's my mother's maiden name. I'm happy, my father's last name is very Lithuanian and happy to keep my Irish last name. I have nothing to do with my father, never met him, talked with him on the phone a few times and met his father, likely never will (by my choice).

No siblings, but the miscarriage above described. I don't know if it was certain it was going to be a male or not, I do know it would have been an older sibling of 2 years.

I am not married, nor have I really been close. Although I am not picky about a gf, I am picky about someone who is more than that.

I am an only child or an only child, so no brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, neices, nephews. I have second cousins, but they are as old or older my mother was.

Cancer runs in the family, but also heavy, heavy smoking, and drinking did as well (Mother's Side), Father's side, men live into the 90's. I don't smoke at all, rarely drink.

I think that's the relevant information.

Ya know, I just thought of something. My character has 2@1 boxing. I don't. Eli really has the martial arts talent. If my character fought his character, and my character won, I'd kind of feel bad about that. To say the least, I'd understand if Eli was upset about it.

O.K., the only question I have is, where is your car relative to your room? That is, is this your room in your home and your car is in the garage or drive out front (and is that downstairs), or the room in your dorm and the car is half a mile away in the college student parking lot, or what?

Also, you did not specify what things you were wearing at present, and I see no jewelry, watch, or other "typical" worn objects, which you should include if there are any.

I'm fine with that.

Equipment:

2 pairs of loose pants(they don't interfere with my kicks) One is Khaki and the other is olive drab. They have an extra pocket on each leg.

2 loose t-shirts, one is white and the other is navy blue

3 boxer-briefs

1 pair of work boots

Australian Oilskin coat: It looks like a western duster coat. Oilskin is basically cloth treated with oils and waxes to make it waterproof.

leather hat: It looks like a cowboy hat except the brim is flat

plain leather belt

military style canvas backpack

a book on outdoor survival

a book on chi gung

a Maglite flashlight that takes 5 D-Cells with and extra bulb in the tailcap

a 24 inch crowbar

my wallet with my driver license and 40$

most of those items are in my room. Except for the Maglite, it's in my car

Stupid question, instead of categorizing each skill, why not just give a skill in basic martial arts? Unless there's a particular move or two that you really like and want to have specialized or something. Or is that what you're doing? I'm just trying to better understand how this works.

I think I get it on the running. What do you think of:

1@5 Aggressive Running Frontal Power Boost B3@10 uses one attack RS=+DC to next forward kick-based attack (Power Front Kick), on failure fall for damaging damage
1@5 Aggressive Running Side Slide B3@10 uses one attack +RS=SM to next side-arc kick-based attack (Side Kick, Flip Kick)

The front attack will give you damage category bonuses if both it and the kick are successful, but will hurt if you fail the running roll and cost you the kick.

1@2 Gather Chi P5@0 success allows (second if first is included) will power check against pain or other physical weakeners, 1:00 TF

1@2 Zen State P1@0 10:00 TF requires relaxation, focuses the mind for +RS/10 bonus to next mental skill, +43SM

If you're happy with this, start your equipment.
