Thank you.
Should I write a summery of what he did under Oak's GMing?
Tue Nov 16 2010 7:27 pm # -
And under mine as well, please. Although I think you did relatively little with me.
Tue Nov 16 2010 7:32 pm # -
Do you want me to include the character generation info?

Here is my first post.
I'm 20.
I'm about 6' - 6'1" and about 220 Ibs.
and I appear slightly muscular with a bit of fat around the midsection.
by my estimate I am about 1.25 - 1.5 times as strong as a average human.
It's also rare for me to get sick enough to call in sick
My endurance is not very good. it is about 0.8 the endurance of a average human.here is my running endurance
4 mph - about 16 minutes:6 mph - about 8 minutes:8 mph - about 2 minutes:My manual dex is low average
My body dex is high averagehow do you define intelligence, perception, and charisma?
skills
I can get computers to do simple tasks with computer programming
I'm very good with computers and their software.(i can install an operating system easily, and
setup a dual boot system(I've setup windows/Linux before)a little effort)would reading speed be important?
I don't have much training with handguns but once I hit 4" circle 7 out of 10 times with a 22. cal autoloader.
I've trained in the martial arts for about 5 years, although I haven’t trained in 3 or 4 months.
the style is Tai kwon dow-a Korean martial art- although I probably learnt a Americanized version of itI can do about a minute of heavy sparring before I get tired.
My sparring partners have commented that I am very tough. They say that I just ignore their punches and kicksTue Nov 16 2010 10:04 pm # -
Second post, Deals with my skills
My school mainly teaches you how to fight with combinations of punches and kicks.
The punches are like those in boxing: jabs, crosses (A strait punch from the rear hand), hooks and uppercuts. We are taught to use combinations extensively, and to use them to lead into kicks or to use them after kicks or to put a kick in the middle of a combination.
The Kicks:
Roundhouse Kick: You swing your rear leg so that it strike the target (usually the opponents midsection) from the side. This is a very strong kick but it advertises that you are going to do it.Side Kick: you raise your front leg and extend it towards the side (you usually face your opponent with your front 40 to 80 degrees off from where they are, so this usually goes strait toward them).this kick is also strong and advertises itself less the than the roundhouse kick. And, if the distance is right you can slide toward your opponent to make it hit harder.
Flip Kick: This is the jab of the kick world. You raise your front leg and strike like a roundhouse kick
Crescent Kick: A quick kick aimed at the side of the face. It hits with the outside edge of the foot. It named that because the motion resembles a crescent. It is strong enough to knock someone out if it hits the jaw.
Front Kick: you raise a leg and kick towards your front. This kick can be as fast as a jab or as strong as a side kick. You can use it very easily after running towards your opponent.
Ax Kick: you raise your leg like a crescent kick but at the apex you bring your heel down on their head or collar bone. The shorter the opponent the better.
Back Kick: you raise a leg and kick strait back. They teach you how to shift you stance to kick someone in front of you with this. This kick is strong and it is easy to put in a combo with roundhouse kicks.
Hook Kick: You raise your front leg and strike with the heel from the side. This kick is about as strong and fast as a flip kick. There is a version called the back swing kick. You move like a back kick but you swing your leg around and strike like a hook kick.
There is also jump versions of a few of these kick but I cant do these very well.
These are usually aimed at the head or upper body but the highest I can go is about the center of mass (the dead center of the chest)We also do a shout (It is called a Kiai) that is used to intimidate the opponent or cause him to flinch and to give you a physiological boost. You use it in the beginning of a fight and increase the physiological impact of a strike
We were also taught a bit with grappling. A few throws, arm bars and how to get out of mount (they're on top of you) or reverse it
We were taught a few ways to disarm people with knifes or guns. I could probably extend it a bit to include swords (this would be hard to do)
I was taught a few weapons skills:
The bo staff or quarterstaff:
I can block many swinging and trusting strikes with this.
I can parry a few trusts. I can strike from the sides and high or low with the last 6" of both ends of the staff
I can also trust like a spear. The tonfa or police baton:
I use one in each hand
I can use them to block and or parry as if I am unarmed (I.E I use what know with TKD and apply it to the tonfas)
I can strike with them like punches ("")
I can switch grips to extend my punches or to strike by swinging them aroundAbout how I do it
It been commented that fight based on instinct. I control my body i with simple and quick thoughts such as “his head is open, go after it” or “I wont to do a 1-2 punch and then a roundhouse”. So the high brain is free to note the changing situation and come up with combos to get through the opponents’ defense and the low brain worries about how to kick and move. The advantage is that I’m only as predictable as I as I let myself be.
The disadvantage is that I have to learn a move so that it feels natural to do or it will be clumsy and easy to block or dodgeThis extents to all things that rely mainly on moving the body. (and video games)
The relative level of the moves
I’m a lot better than a average person with punches but a pro boxer would kill me.
My punches hurt, this is partly because of my strength and partly because I’m punching in a manner the maxes the force deliveredOn average, my kicks are only a bit worse (slower, less technique, and less power)
Than some one who does martial arts tournaments professionally.I’m very good at the roundhouse kick. If I’m not carful it can cause a 150 Ib. man with a kicking shield to stumble, or if I kick a hard as I can it will knock him off his feet. (This is significantly reduced if he braces himself a lot)
My sliding side kick is as strong as or a bit stronger than my roundhouse
My teacher commentated that my crescent kick has a nearly perfect form. I can do it very quickly so that my training pants (also called the dobok pants or the Gi pants) make a popping sound when I do this kick.
I’m not very good at the hook kick but my back swing kick is goodI tend to move around slower than most people but I can move fast for I little bit(to get close or to move to a better angle on my opponent). This results in me slowly advancing and when I’m close I rush in.
I really don’t know how I compare with the other skills
Mystic? Skills:
You can say yes or no to these as you see fitI’ve read a few books about chi gung and tai chi. And, I’ve tried my hand at manipulating chi. The most I can do is gather energy from some source (the Sun, the Earth, or the air around me) and hold it in a spot for a few minutes. I can sometimes hold it in multiple spots or all over my body, but this cuts down the time I can hold it. This doesn’t seem to do must besides producing a very pleasant sensation or psyche me up so that I can break boards easier.
I can (in a quiet place) still my mind into a zen-like state (I don’t know if it is zen because I don’t have a zen teacher). I usually do this by focusing on a repeating series of numbers (1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4…) and ignoring my other thoughts. It's still a little noisy
Sometime when I’ve exhausted myself sparing, I block a combo that is to fast for me to block in my state. And, sometimes I block without being aware of what move is next in the combo.

Your response to the second post
Very informative and quite interesting.Lets see if I can roughly get some of this into Multiverser terms...
Your martial art style is Fast, Aggressive, Weapons-Utilizing (the two opposites would be Slow, Defensive, Weapons Averse or Weapons Only).
I'm not quite sure how to deal with the combinations.
But I think I'll bounce this off MJ's head as I expect he will find it interesting as well.
Roundhouse Kick, Increased Damage Level, -5 Situation Modifier (for being slow)
Side Kick...I'm going to say the deceptive nature of this and the fact that its a high kick balance each other out, although it might be possible to really catch a newbie off-guard. I'm going to call the Sliding into Opponent an extra skill with the result of Increased Damage Level, +2 Relative Skill (which means how well you do this skill can variably bonus the side kick skill.)
Flip Kick...your basic kickCrescent Kick...I'm a little familar with this as my brother took Tae Kwon Do. I'm going to make this a -10 DM with a chance of knock-out as a contingency.
Front Kick...sounds like you need a scale that slides between speed and power for this one.
I'm going to stop there for the kicks for now...
Kiai Shout: Improve Morale/Reduce Morale. I'm trying to decide if this is a magic or psionic skill. Does the energy for it come from inside you, or flow through you from outside?
I'm going to make your skill levels for your kicks from 1@9 to 2@3. 1@9 is High Amateur and 2@3 is Low Professional. A typical pro boxer would have 2@5 Punch as a skill. Of course, Someone like Sugar Ray might have 3@6 Punch.
The 'punching in a way that maxes the damage' sounds like Increased Damage Skill precisely.
Chi Energy 1...Produce pleasant sensation (which might be useful if you ever get dropped into freezing waters by British Communist submariners infiltrating the Canadian Empire) and Improve Board Breaking skill.
Chi Energy 2...as above but half the time with a +4 SM, +4 DM.
My methods are loosey-goosey, but I think I have a good idea of what's going on. There is a lot here, and I'm not sure what MJ will feel up to adding (although I'm sure he will find it quite interesting.). I will say that a current major opponent are fifty pound Kobold legionairres (Roman style), and that if you can knock over a hundred fifty pound guy with a kick to a shield, you should have fun with the Kobolds...although they are armed with gladius...PT

you usually ask for five book or movies that the player likes.
Here is my response to that question.I like the Wizardry series by Rick Cook, It's about a expert computer programmer who is sent to a fantasy world, and then he discovers that he can manipulate magic like computer programs.
I also like the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy series
I like The Matrix, hacking reality to do kung fu is awesome in my opinionthere are a few video game that I enjoyed immensely(if you want a description of them I can type one up or direct you to a few sites for them.)
they are the Boktai series, Lunar Knights, Skies of Arcadia, and the Final Fantasy seriesI like some broad categories of movies: Zombie horror, b horror movies, action/comedy
I also like anime and manga, so if you need more ideas for me just ask.

Do you want the stats generated for my character on this form?
Tue Nov 16 2010 10:15 pm # -
Strength 1@8
Resistance (this would be related to getting sick) 1@7
Endurance 1@4 (slightly lower than average human)
Dexterity 1@7 (as you said, body dex high average)
Hand/Eye 1@4 (as you said, hand dex low average)Skills
1@5 Computer Programming
2@1 Computer Software SetupWe'll skip over reading speed for now (it can be important, but if it is, I'll ask you later....'So, Magnus, here's the manual for the TJ-17A Prototype Antimatter Explosive. I hope you can read faster than me to find the disarming techniques, or else we're going to be visiting orbit real soon now.')
1@3 Light Handgun Use skill (I'm going to say 'really good beginner learning').
How often did you train during your five years? For how long?
We'll get you started once I think a bit....Don't have to get this all written out before we start.

I had two or three sessions per week for one to one and a half hours each session
If I remember correctly, you were thinking about sending me to A Mischief of Maidens.
Should I post the skill I learned in the rpol game now?

Thanks.
Yes, please.

Here is the summary of when you GMed
While I was working on it, he set A 44 oz. Juiceblaster cup next to my keyboard where my hand knocks it over onto my electrical sockets.
I saw the surge leap to the computer with unnatural ease, and as I leap back a white bolt of light reached for me....I wake up in the middle of a great hall.
There is a pile of dead kobold like things.
I see a scholarly man (Hadrian) helping another man (Krillis). Next to them is a huge Husky that must be 400 Ibs. (Kox).
I hear the sounds of fighting from up the latter.
I'm confused for a few seconds and recover.
During my confusion Krillis disappeared.
After that I grabbed two good quality gladius's and a average javelin from the kobolds.
And, headed up the ladder.
Hadrian was behind me on the ladder. When he reached the top, he incinerated the kobolds with a blue fireball.
I was Awestruck by the magic and after they finished the kobolds, Lucas and Hadrian explained the verse to me and Lucas showed me some fire magic.
I decided to try my own thing first.
I gathered Chi from the earth and projected it into a
1@1 Chi Distance Punch. Magic. Extra Damage to Non-Animate, Non-Moving Solids.
I also developed
1@1 Distance Fire Punch. Magic. ??? (you didn't go into much detail with this skill)
I practiced with them a bit and got +@2 with both of them for new uses.Hadrian wandered off to do something with magic.
Lucas wandered off because he was hungry and ran into the Pattern Room.
I went to look for him and got trapped too.
While we were trying to get out, We were attacked with arrows
Lucas didn't get hit, while I got hit twice. Once under my right shoulder blade in the back, and it came out in front through my pectoral muscle. The other one slashes through my left thigh.Lucas healed my leg a bit and then died from a fireball.
I broke the arrow off from my back. I got +@1 to willpower for that.
I developed
1@3 Limited healing. Magic. (Use Chi, shout.)
and used it on my leg.I pulled the arrow out. This nearly killed me but I managed to heal it at the last moment.
Resisting the urge to dance, I tried various thing to try to get out, and in the process I became familiar with the distortion in space that goes with teleporting.
Hadrian comes in and solves the puzzle.
We charge the kobolds, Hadrian attacked with four fireballs and I hit a kobold with a power front kick(and a bad pun) that sent it flying 10 feet and crushed its chest.
Krillis was going to use a flamethrower technique so I formed my Chi into a heat shield
1@1 Heat Shield, conical, partial, low-level, uses chi, Magic.
Afterward I got a better explanation and showed Krillis my style for about a hour.
Then Mam Mal(... I just got the pun...OW.) appeared.
Krillis fired fireballs at her, Hadrian commanded her to sleep and I rushed her.
While doing this I was gathering Chi and trying to use it to make myself move faster. Resulting in1@1 alter perception of time flow
The Chi continued to flow so I fired a Chi Distance Punch at her and did a flying side kick.
While I was going though the air, I charged my leg with chi and forced it to explode into her.
Which killed her.1@2 Explosive kick
The Chi continued to flow into me and killed everything around me.
The dragon ,Terracuyl , commanded me to let the Chi go.
I did and it destroyed the mound, leaving a pit several hundred feet deep in its place.Wed Nov 17 2010 5:38 pm # -
Here is a list of things I did with Oak that are probability new skills.
I did a super jump by gathering a ridiculously large amount of chi,
used it to make myself as light as a feather, used it to make my legs stronger and jumped upTo save myself from the fall from the jump, I formed a large pair of wings out of chi.
They weren't visible and I only used them to glide down.To get myself away from a doctor who had a portable hole that reacted to chi.
I used chi to push myself away from the doctor....Which caused him to drop the hole and it was insinuated that the hole touching the ground was a very bad thing.
So I used chi to hold it up.(not my smartest move.)This caused it to glow white and rip open a portal to another dimension that was sucking every thing into it.
So I recreated the temples botch of uncontrollable chi and used it the force the portal close. It sucked me in just as it was waist sized and I got stuck in it.
The chi was still flowing into me, so I used it all at once to teleport by warping the space-time continuum around myself into a hypersphere that is separate from that universe.
I moved the hypersphere a bit and popped into the dimension that the portal was leading to.I learn how to pull myself to something with chi
I made the heat shield stronger by poring more chi into it.
And, I learned the green psionic healing energy ball from Lucas
