   In the post at http://gamingoutpost.com/discussions/topic/nikolaj-rising/page/3?replies=77#post-9451 Nikolaj attempted to link to an external site by coding the link around the text, like this. The link is to http://berean.org/bibleteacher/wb.html and when the link is written out like that it codes itself and works fine--but when it is included in an HTML bracket code, it adds a quotation mark to the end of the link, and sometimes drops the beginning and makes the link refer internally to the beginning of the thread.

   I've tried to fix it several times, and have not been able to get a coded link to that page to work.

   Of course, it's entirely possible that it will work this time, so let me post this and see what happens.

   No, it appears that if the link is written inside brackets it picks up the quotation mark as part of the URL when you post it. That does not completely disrupt internal links, as it will take you to the right page and ignore the extraneous material, but when going off-site it errors.

   I tried to post the code using HTML symbol code & l t ; and & g t ; but it converted them to symbols and then turned it into a link string. It also converts the link string into

   a h r e f = " / / b e r e a n . o r g / b i b l e t e a c h e r / w b . h t m l & q u o t ; "

   and from the look of Nikolaj's original post it may be that he attempted to edit it and kept getting more quote codes added to his post.

   Still having problems posting links. I attempted to link to an old John Wick article in the archives, and it created the extraneous code when I used it around the text--I had to post the full text of the link as text, which it converted to a coded link.

   I have no idea what the problem is being caused by, but I figured out an easy fix. Instead of using double quotes ("), use single quotes (') and it works just fine.
