I might be on RPOL later today. Got stuck at a hotel due to snowstorm and road icing last night.

I have not seen the professor for several months. Truth is, I've been a bit worried about him. I figured that he got busy and didn't have time, although the second and third likely answers are that he somehow got locked out of the forum and couldn't get back in, or that he decided that the game just wasn't going the way he wanted and he lost interest. (It's surprising how many people drop out without a word, but I can't be sure ever why any one of them does so unless I hear from them.)

He's playing regularly at RPOL at Worldwalker. I think he's fine although he might be a bit low on energy. OTOH, he's planning on running a gather as soon as I run this dungeonhack gather I've just gotten started.
Of course, he was gone for a while from my game due to medical issues. So he might have enough for one game and not for more.
And indeed, I've had many people show up, say hi, vanish. Others talked a bit, then vanished. Others got started, then vanished, others played a whole world, then started a second, and you know....
I will be glad to have him run a gather, and have me go to just running my own character in his gather. Running a gather world with everyone in the same place and everyone having lots of abilities....well....lets just say that Temple of the Dying Sun would be an excellent world for you to run. Twistedly evil dungeonhack, all laid out, need high levels of game knowledge....

Ah, but my players are in the main too erratic in their attendance to games here--and those who are consistent probably are not compatible. Can you see me putting Adam and John 2 in the same world? I think they'd kill each other and Harry with them....

Our characters don't know each other. If we both made a conscience effort to actually stay in character it would work. I'd probably ask him to teach me martial arts....

Two Posts
I got it MJ. Put Adam and I both into Quest for the Vorgo. He can battle the zombies and I'll go do my own thing. That keeps the zombies off of me, he gets to be the hero, and I can find some small fishing village and see if they need a blacksmith. It would be perfect.

I'm not actually suggesting a gather, but I believe that if my character were to become involved in one, the regularity of my posts would increase dramatically. It's just how I work; if I would be interfering with other people's games by remaining absent, I'll make sure to fire off my post quickly to avoid being a bother, and end up playing much more actively as a result.
(I'm not sure why that hasn't helped the people playing under me. Probably being the referee rather than a player has something to do with it, as well as the fact that I tend to play live with my players on occasion.)
Oh, and I still have his gems.

Sorry to disappear without a word. When I dropped out, I had for many months been on prostate medication which I was intolerant of, and which was laying me pretty low. At the time, I didn't really know that I would be out for so long.
I had prostate surgery in July which took awhile to recover fully from, along with an insanely busy school year (150% course load lecturing, plus filling in as Acting Chair of the department this semester while the real Chair is on sabbatical).
However, I've kept tabs on the "Behind the Screens" threads via RSS feed, so I didn't *completely* forsake y'all... :)

And I still have your gems! If I start posting regularly again, I might even verse out in time to give them to you at some point.
Edit: Yes, I know I just said that in my last post here, but it was two months ago . . .
