looks like i may have a little time to go ahead with skills! i have low amateur skill with tae kwon do, there's actually information on the style tae kwon do on the mjyoung.net multiverser martial arts material, as my skill is so low as all i really know are the basic kicks and blocks and nothing i would actually use as a skill i'm not adverse to using that. I've dabbled in other martial arts, but nothing i would actually call learning. other than that, i don't have much as far as fighting skill, 1@ tech bow use, 1@ tech knife use, 1@ tech air rifle use (bb gun, part of boy scout training). professional skills, i am a retail supervisor/manager. my professional skills are in selling products, teaching employees various skills, and making people happy (so they come back). not sure how this translates to game use. oh, come to think of it, i have 2@ box cutter use; not really a weapon, but oh, what a weapon, heh. we cut a lot of boxes and i've taught a lot of people the safety standards (ignoring them makes it a WEAPON heh).

I'm going to leap in and say he has misstated a few of his scores.
The Ed Lev is indeed 1@10, completed high school. I think I'd put the intellect at 2@1--I can only make that claim based on my interactions with him over the years, and would not object if the ref wanted to limit it to 1@10 in the absence of scores (he never took an SAT to my knowledge). I'd also kick his intuition up a few points, as he is extremely good at reading people.
In the skills, it should be noted that his English Language skills are above the norm for native speakers, and he also has at least a mid to high amateur level in Spanish (Castillian).

((OOC: Character sheet edited above))
*You're are work, one of the guys from the cell phone shop gives you a card for a free upgrade phone, says there is a chance to get one of the new Iphone clone phones, you head there after work, figuring a free phone is a free phone. You do a scratch off, and they hand you a new phone, Iphoner powered by scriff enhanced snapdragon processor. They swap your sim cards, phone is superfast works great. Your heading back to your car, playing with the screen, you hit a crack in the sidewalk, and you end up bracing yourself with the phone hand, your hand breaks the screen as you fall, and the last thing you remember when waking up is a gold liquid going into the wound the glass made in your hand, and a jolt.*
*You're on the ground, it feels soft and cradles you, as you lay there, you feel something beat down on your skin, feels familiar, breathing in, you smell, the beach*
Wed Sep 15 2010 10:28 am # -
ahh, the beach. wait, what? I'll open my eyes and prop myself up on my hand, then look at my hand in shock if I don't feel any pain from the wound there. My muscles were sore enough after work that I still feel it this morning, so if I'm not feeling the burn, I figure that I have been out for a while. I'll look around, assessing my situation from my position on my stomach propped up on my elbows, and then stand up if I don't seem to be in any immediate danger.
Wed Sep 15 2010 10:39 am # -
*You wake up, your laying in sand, there are palm trees around, some of them partly shading you, in front of you about 100 feet you think, is a slope of a beach going down and crystal clear waves washing up on shore, you are laying in very light beige sand, it's warm, about 85 out, but a cool breeze off the ocean and the shade make it very comfortable. You have a sense of tugging in two different directions ((how far is your work from your store?))*

Just wanted to put it out there that I love playing Multiverser games and if anyone else wants a player I'm all in. Not that I'm not enjoying being BATMAN, which I am. My first responsibility goes to the posts of my players, but anyone who wants to throw me into a campaign, my materials here are recent enough for the next year or so at least barring any unforeseen changes. Though my bookkeeping (yay three double letters in a row) abilities are rather impaired by my cell phone.

Not that I'm worried about it, but I note you haven't posted in your original character's thread for a while. It fell to the second page, and unless it marked you as Spam or something I was the last poster.

Nein, nyet, no. I would direct you to the thread, though I don't recall which it was; probably "To Kyler". I'm not posting to it because I am playing in other games and do not wish to monopolize your time. I do miss the character and would some time like to pick up the story again, but now is clearly not the perfect time; you've got kind of a full plate.
Thu Oct 7 2010 2:01 am # -
As a matter of fact, John, you and Eric were likely the two I mainly had in mind when I put myself out there to begin with, and was pleased to be picked up by Adam (ge roll, better than expected?). But I would play in thirty different Multiverser campaigns with thirty different Multiverser characters based off of thirty different mes. I do things I love to excess like that often.
Thu Oct 7 2010 11:13 am # -
Yeah who in their right mind would play three of themselves :P
Thu Oct 7 2010 12:27 pm # -
I'm problematic as a player. I'll think about it later, but in between running John, Niko, Jhiaxus 2, and Oak, and trying to write Cereal Novel, Missing Man, Torchthrowers, and the occasional world, I have enough on my plate to keep me amused for now.
Thu Oct 7 2010 5:18 pm # -
Totally understandable. No offense taken. =) If you do want to play, I am taking players, and my requirements are in the "taking players" thread; since I don't have reliable access to a computer but I do to a cell phone, bookkeeping is awkward for me. Just putting the offer out there for you, since I noticed you're running several and not playing any.
Thu Oct 7 2010 5:22 pm # -
Eric should start the fast track plan, 8 posts a day for 20 a week, to a paypal account :P
Thu Oct 7 2010 5:25 pm # -
hahaha. Let's think here; if each post takes an average of ten minutes, that's one hour and twenty minutes a day, times seven ... twenty bucks for nine hours and twenty minutes of work... that's what... two dollars a hour? a little more.
Thu Oct 7 2010 5:37 pm # -
Kyler, MJ was talking about a dart world. Did you see that? I've got an idea for how that world should go. How many, and what types of explosive-driven slug throwers would you be taking with you? The version in my head would only work for a player like me who is really into explosive-driven slug throwers.
(Doing Therapy)
Thu Oct 7 2010 5:38 pm # -
Well, that's 2 dollars more an hour that he'd be making now by doing 2-4 posts a day for nothing :)
Thu Oct 7 2010 5:39 pm # -
John: I own 0 explosive driven slug throwers. I have a 1@1 skill at operating them.
Thu Oct 7 2010 5:46 pm # -
OK Kyler, this is how that world would have to go. If you versed in, and about a minute later, somebody shot you with a paintball gun, would you be more likely to:
A) Go into a martial arts stance
B) Start asking questions and talking
C) Start trying to find out where it came from
D) Pull a gunUnless your answer is D, the world in my head probably wouldn't work for you.

Cross-posted with Kyler. You might own zero, but what about your characters? Or, make up a different character. A trigger happy card carrying NRA redneck. I dunno.

I would E: Run and try to find cover. You can always verse me into another world first to prep me.
Thu Oct 7 2010 5:55 pm # -
That's the thing, I'm kind of limited in the number of worlds I can run. That one and the zombie world are the only two I think I could really run. I don't have any world books or anything, I'm kind of making it up as I go.
EDIT: No wait, I take that back. I've got an idea.

Kyler, if I don't have time to run my sons in my games, then it's not worth me being here. Post at your leisure. Thank you for your consideration.
Cross-posted with Kyler. You might own zero, but what about your characters? Or, make up a different character. A trigger happy card carrying NRA redneck. I dunno.
Ah, but he's supposed to start as himself, and while there might be a trigger-happy card-carrying NRA redneck version of him somewhere in the Multiverse, that's not who he is now.
On the other hand, it's not impossible that his adventures between now and then will introduce him to the use of such weapons.
As far as the number of worlds you can run, John, I'm sure you watch television. Every show is a world you could run, if you put your mind to it and use a bit of your free time to work out how that world would be adapted. Most of them I would do on the fly--figure out the biases as you go. They're not usually that difficult. Sometimes the ones with psychics are, because you have to give thought to exactly what the psychic is able to do and how he does it.

Well, Jhiaxus, I could try that, if you were serious, but I'd have to have Sunday off to recuperate. I have to say that my mind reels a bit at the thought of doing eight posts per day. But it is kinda the direction I need to go, so I'm willing to give it a try and see how it works.
And John, there's like a hundred worlds posted on the GO websites courtesy of the many helpers and moi. I'll be glad to give you advice on one of my world if you need it to flesh out a detail or other, or we can bug MJ or Wodium if its something I can't handle.
Fri Oct 8 2010 1:34 am # -
It was a semi serious point, but yes, I can spend 20 a week on nothing (I can spend 20 dollars a day for about nothing too sad as that is), and to me to support someone else that's taking time out of their day, trying to make a living, it's a price I'd be willing to pay. Sure it means I shop at the store instead of fast food, which I am doing more of anyway. Point is, I believe if you have the ability, support your chosen hobby.
I have gotten rid of cable, I use Hulu for my TV watching, and use redbox for movies. I stopped buying a video game a week for 50 a shot, ((I only buy maybe 6 a year now, or quality titles, I know I will like)), so for the value, it's there.
About Sunday, well if the Lord took a day off, the GM should too :P

Actually no, I don't. I watch DVDs. I get television shows on DVD, but I don't watch broadcast TV. No fun if you don't have a pause and rewind button.
