My thread with links to player's game threads says it is close. I can't edit or post again. I wanted to edit in John Oakmaster's info. This is frustrating because I put two full days into research for this. Any idea what went wrong? Should I just make another?
Also, I put it in the wrong sub-forum. I don't think I can change that, huh? I think it;s in roleplaying games, not Multiverser.
Last things first: I can move a thread to another forum. Because I'm a moderator I don't always know what can be done by those who are not moderators, but it's generally easy enough to ask me if I can do something.
I can also edit posts forever, and I can close and "unclose" threads. I don't think that's within the power of ordinary users. I do know that users (other than moderators and administrators) have a limited edit window--I believe we set it to one week. This is supposed to prevent people from going back and editing their previous posts after others have responded to them while still allowing them a couple days to realize there are errors that need to be addressed. If it was more than a week between when you posted and when you tried to edit, that might be what the system was telling you.
I can look at it and try to fix it, but I don't see the thread and you didn't include either the link or the title.

And now it's back....but whatever, I just made it again. It is in the right forum now, and it too says it is closed when I try to post again. I think there is a problem with my ability to create threads or something.
Do you see the thread entitled "Links to Game Threads Mark II"
One possibility is that the list of links looks like spam to the forum software.

huh. Maybe the forum is about to majorly malfunction. Ward! Ward!
On a different note, I wish I didn't have a habit of reading every single thread when it is posted in. I read part of the first post addressed to you, and now I know he was asking if you would show up in my game (I didn't read the rest when I realized what i was reading). Oh, and I wasn't complaining! That OOC post was a note to myself, to remind myself what knowledge I have is OOC, which I'm sure will gradually have more notes made.
*sigh* C'est la vie.

Don't worry. You don't know anything that my avatar's presence in your thread wouldn't tell you. (Clarity: I use "avatar" here to refer to my picture of a tigerbunny. I think the term is leftover from my days at the College Roomies From Hell!!! forums.)
Hmmmm--for reference, the earliest players I recall were Eric Ashley, David Marcoe, and Daniel Worthington. I don't know how much information you've got or what sequence you were intending, but it makes sense to me to do them in the order they first started to play. I don't know that I have a record of that, though, so here are all the player character names I have on my sheets, presumed active players first:

Yes, that, and the fact that any post with a numbered list of links is marked as spam automatically. I am dropping the idea, because I posted in the new thread and it looks like I was marked as spamming again. So, rather than wrestle with the forums, I'll just keep the links, and if anyone wants to follow a person's story and they can't find the start, they can ask me. I think I have all the current players full set of worlds, except for Jhiaxus.
Augh. If I'd remembered that, I could have told you how to change the urls so that those links do work. It's something maddeningly simple, like reversing the order of "gamingoutpost" and "discussions" or something.
