Swirling images of a wedding, of Tessa crying happy purple tears, of a Nazi Cyborg serving as your best man, of the balloons all being real rabbits, of the cake holding a nuclear bomb that you have to keep defusing with a whispered 'shhhhh' as it tries to explode fill your mind.

And then you realize you are laying on quite the hardest floor you've ever laid on. Concrete has more give to it than this.

OOC: Let's do the upgrades here.

I know one. I thought a while ago that you were persuading a lot of people. MJ thought the same thing for my character when I was busy intimidating people. So Persuasion attribute +@1.

Of course, Space Commando Bowie Knife already detailed.

You spent a lot of time with the following:
1. Mindmaze getting Intuition raised.
2. Drow Bladedancing with Siljonic.
3. Light spell with ABBA and physical dif so X3 dif.
4. Some practise (an hour a day) with Bomb Guy. This is your most minor practise.
5. Wandering around doing the 'god-thing'. This pushes the Persuasion up which is already covered, and gives you some practise Blessing and Oratory.
6. Practise with Jimi Hendrix and by self on guitar.
7. Weights. This gains STR and STA and loses weight.

They introduce themselves.

"We don't know what brought us here." Power Girl says.

You look around and see a plain of dark red iron that stretches out seemingly forever. To your right rises juttingly harsh mountains, and a mountain pass guarded by a wall of black steel.

The ground is hard, almost painfully so. And as you start to look up to the sky...

"Don't look up, if you value your sanity." The Jedi says her voice smooth and melodius.

"Well ladies it's good to meet you, I do think I know at least who is responsible for bringing you here, me."

There is a roar of fire, and you look behind you to see a gigantic fire bird descending from the sky.

"NOW AND FOREVER, I AM PHOENIX."

The bird lands, and a beautiful woman with flying red hair, a green and gold costume, and an aura of power walks out of the flame. It occurs to you that it would be real interesting to watch a duel between this girl and Lisabeth....from about twenty miles away.

"Welcome to the Plain of Kharigen, heroines and hero. It is here that it is thought the Last Battle between Good and Evil for the whole Multiverse will be fought. But before that day, which may come at any moment, we strive for position, for advantage."

"Logical." The Jedi says. "A momentary advantage might allow you to decimate the enemies strongest troops with little loss of your own."
"Indeed." Pipes in the Ninja. "Surprise is great power."
The others look as if they wish to add something, but they don't.
"It is customary to make an offer to return to your world, as if this were but a dream, but..." She flashes a smile. "I hardly think that likely. I will say that if you die here, you go back as if this world were a dream. Except for you verser. You're cheaper that way."

The others stare at you wondering what makes you different.

"You need to keep this fort on the hill from being taken, and that hill over there. She points to a mount fifty miles away for a week. And keep the area clean between them as well as you can."

"She means I'm immortal, but not invulnerable, and likely means we are cheaper, because they know we can be summoned back many times. Let me begin, to further introduce myself and my abilities, and each in turn should do the same. I am Jhiaxus, Hand of Odin, as for my abilities, I'm more of a Jack of All Trades, I do a little of everything. In one life I was a ninja, so pretty good at sneaking, hiding and climbing. In another I was a ships captain, learning a bit about that, I learned my best psionic ability of possession there. In another, I was a dwarf, in a game with a mad god, I got a few toys there, my swordbelt which lets me hit people very hard, a plutinium scale, which I still need to figure out what to make with it. Um I went to a high tech future world, got a lot of defensive modifications, I hear better than the average human, and see as well, I take a tremendous amount of damage. I fight reasonably well, I Know the spell Light really well, and invisibility not that well, but enough to try it. I can read minds, block my mind from being read, and conceal my thoughts.

"And I am Samus, I have combat armor, and a missile, and a bit more. I'm not sure why I've been chosen for this. I'm not famous or anything."

"You all have been chosen for a number of reasons. One is that you will be famous, all of you, and dreadful as Evil sees it. Another is for you all to learn from each other. Power Girl, especially, you need for reasons I cannot state, you need to learn how to fight without your powers."

"That sounds ominous." Power Girl says.

*looks at the between the two bases fifty miles apart*

"The problem is logistics, I don't see how one team of five can keep two bases and the path in between them safe. Even if we could keep the bases safe, it would mean leaving people behind to do so. I'm going to assume there are even numbers on the other side. This environment sounds strangely like a First Person Shooter game, Halo. There was a map of two bases, and a long stretch of flat land in between. If Power Girl can't fly, are there any tools in the environment to help us get around faster? Are there weapons tools, armor and powerups to be had? I am trying to get rules, objectives and limits in place to make an effective strategy. I know I could make ways for us to move around faster. I'm figuring it's part of the rules to not reveal information unless someone asks for it.

*pauses*

"Odin is not a God who represents fighting, he is one who wins fights. If I am here, he must have chosen a side that he wants to have an advantage in the end. I have no problem leading these women to do battle, but I will be damned if I am leading them into a situation I didn't try to get the most information out of as possible before."

"We're not certain of everyone on the other side. We know there is a powerful necromantic force on the other side. And we think that some forces are going to try to use this Wide Pass between the Iron Mountains and the First Hills to move on to the Fortress City of Aslunder.

I've never heard of Halo or First Person Shooters. As to other things, well we're on a battlefield that has been fought over for the last ten thousand years continously. Who knows whats out there?" Jean replies.

"Well, if our job is to keep the fortress from falling, one way to do that is to blast it to rubble now." Samus says, lining up a missile at the fort on the hill. "That way we reduce our protected zones by one."

Jean winces in response.

"That's more info than I had before, so we have free reign to gear ourselves up with what is out there."

*sighs*

"We can't destroy it, then it will be one less place for the enemy to have to work at. We work with what we got. What I am not doing is separating the group. So we need to go out, get equipment, take out the groups we see, make our way to the other base, secure it, and come back and do the same for this one. Any objections?"

Sakura your healing, Ce Ce is crowd control, Samas, your ranged, Powergirl your still a tough girl so your up with me, and I'm the Tank and Leader."

You start walking out onto the table flat Elemental Iron Plains, and within half a mile, your feet ache. The other four are not yet having difficulty due to Jedi softstepping and Ninja the same, and armor, and just general toughness. You're just not used to standing on something so hard.

Occasionally thelight flickers from the steady white radiance. A bolt of blue from the sky dazzles, or a putrid glow of green which has you seeing insects crawling under the others faces for a second.

Dashes of light all about you. ThrmmmBOOM repeatedly. You recognize the sound, some sort of laser fire. Up ahead of you, a quarter of a mile or two miles, its hard to judge distance. You see some moving shapes and a pile of something. And then some more flashes from the pile, four total.

Ce Ce gets up front with her light saber but does not block any. No one is hit again although Samus nearly gets face shot.

((OOC: Standing orders for me, looking at any body or pile and picking out anything that looks interesting, be it a weapon, device, book, possible magic item, anything that catches my eye. I trained that box to be more observant, so hopefully it pays off))

((OOC, I did spend a good amount of time being a ninja, so I should know a bit on how to soft step))

"Ok guys, lets keep a low profile, pick up any gear you see that you look like you can use. These people are long dead, and we have been given under clear conscience the ability to defend ourselves. They died fighting, they would want us to have a better chance to tip the balance of power to good. Good work Ce Ce, deflect any fire you can, we will go in a diamond formation, Ce Ce in front, Power Girl in the Middle, Samas on the right, Me on the Left, and Sakura in the back. She is a ninja, and is good at detecting ambushes, she is also our healer so we protect her at the expense of us, since she can heal us back up. If we meet heavy resistance, Ce Ce and I will switch places, she will use her Jedi Powers to control and confuse. If you see me drop Powergirl defend my body I have possessed someone and will be attacking them within their ranks. We have just met, but your my charges and I will treat you like treasured friends. In war all you have is each other."

All right, 1@2 Soft Step. Your feet don't hurt too badly as long as you remember to keep your focus.

Someone is attacking you with some sort of laser weapon...Edit: Its a bit confusing between the light coming from the sky and the laser shots from the pile on the ground up ahead.

Well, if you don't destroy it, you'll have a ranged weapon once you take these guys out.

You advance as planned. They fire, but one shot goes high in the sky, and no more. You slip into the Bladedancing.

Rushing forward, more firing. They miss. Its a long shot and chances of a hit are slim.

More rushing. More firing. More missing. You can see humanoid shapes now, but thats all.

You advance further, feeling the burn as you cross the one mile mark. They shoot. Ce Ce's saber flashes once as she deflects a shot.

Eight hundred yards. They fire. Ce Ce blocks a hit again. They are moving more frantically at what they are doing, and the pile of stuff on which the laser is mounted is now raising a windsail.

"Samas pepper that sail with blaster fire, they aren't getting away trying to assassinate us, leave the laser alone, that's our prize"

*puts one breaking blade away and pulls out the Skorpian SMG, and aims it at the sail and unloads the clip into it, not wanting to hit them but to make the sail useless so they can't get away, when it's exhausted, put it away, draw the bowie knife and put on more speed for hand to hand combat*

"Pirates, Ninjas hate Pirates."

Samas fires twice, and misses cleanly both times. You and her fire, and one of you chops the mast in half. It flutters to the ground.

Six hundred yards. They fire. Ce Ce is hit. She stops for a second, and then presses on.

Four hundred yards. More firing. A clean miss. You almost recognize the figures. They're greenish and small.

Two hundred yards. More misses. They're terrible shots. (and bad dice rollers.)

One hundred yards, and you recognize them. They are gremlins from the movie 'Gremlins'. Eight gremlins, looting someone on the ground, and even now they are putting the sail back together. A spidery laser gun is mounted on the top of their sail'boat'.

Fifty yards. And the laser fires again. Samas gets tagged, but she is only knocked down for a second. Two of the Gremlins open fire with revolvers bigger than their hands. One whines past you, and Ce Ce blocks the other in a shower of sparks.

You're sucking wind down a burning throat by this time as you've just completed a two mile run.

*getting pissed seeing what they are and puts the bowie knife in his swordbelt, pulling out a magazine and reloading his shotgun as he is wheezing*

*sweeps along the ship with his shotgun, keeping the finger depressed, sliding from left to right to clear it*

Samus fires her energy burst and knocks a Gremlin clean off the tiny sailcar. Sakura begins mumbling, and twisting her fingers into strange shapes as you feel unearthly spirits pay heed, and energies begin to leap from her. The laser cannon fires again, and Ce Ce blocks it. You fire and decapitate one Gremlin working on the sail. A Gremlin fires back at you, and hits doing little damage, it stings (Annoying after your armor and stuff and 2@). Another Gremlin fires and misses with his revolver. Two other Gremlins take the time to quickly laugh at their associates, and make jokes about the one minus his head.

"He did want to go on a diet."
"Yeah, sudden weight loss reduction!"
The rest cackle.

Sweeping, you blow off an arm, and blast someone in a metal shield and flip them off the cart.

Despite yours and Samas' efforts, a jury-rigged sail mast is back up.

Kara steps in front of you.

The sailcar starts to rock back and forth up a couple feet in the air on each side, and then one of the gremlins on top does a good job of throwing his weight to counter your TK.

However, this pretty much makes the laser cannon a miss machine. It fires, and fires again, and does not even come close.

Samus fires. She shreds one.

Heavy TK 1@1

"Hey, we surrender!" One yells.
"Yeah, quarter, or dime, or penny!" Another yells. He giggles.

"Good, drop your weapons, out of the car. The Hand of Odin is a fair man, so here is the deal, you find us decent gear, weapons and transportation and I will give you your car and laser back. I know your natures, you have a way with tech and salvage, we need what can to help us, you can have the rest. You provide the salvage skills, we'll provide the protection. In return neither us, nor you attack each other. You will get no better deal, and I swear to Odin to honor it, if you do."

They agree.

They toss out their weapons.

They walk up to you and the others, and ten feet away, Sakura points out the hidden knives they have. With that, they charge screaming, knives out.

In seconds, its over. You and Samus got hit. You got sliced down your forearm, and Samus got jabbed in the face. The Gremlins are all dead.

OOC: I did roll, with a -40 Sit-mod on persuading them because after all, they're Gremlins! Untrustworthy, malicious, and violent with a sense of humor about nastiness.

"Well sometimes being honorable means taking some licks. Thanks Sakura, I think we can all use a rest some healing, and better yet, we have transportation now, and I think some loot they collected."

*still strugging with breath*

"Man I need to get into shape faster, that run nearly did me in. Perhaps it's the extra 120 lbs of weight and my equipment, but it will be worth it in the end."

"We did good for our first outing, I say we take 30 to rest, heal grab a bite to eat and drink, and just get to know each other a bit."

Everyone takes a break, and Sakura begins healing those who are wounded. Samus does a little work on her armor to buff it after it got lasered.

The sailcar is suited for Gremlins who are a lot smaller than humans. It could take one human comfortably, and two in tight conditions. There is a big bag of food, and on top of it is a tripod mounted laser cannon (the whole cannon assemblage weighs perhaps ten pounds.) You have three energy packs not used, and a trickler attached to the front wheel of the triwheel sailcar to recharge packs.

The mast is broken in half, and some spare boards are nailed to it to hold it together.

Loot: Two revolvers, and a lot of tools in a blue and red toolbox. One box, the red one says 'Craftsman'. The other says 'Hephaestian Forges'. There's also about twenty pounds of chocolate. There is a peace pipe, some tobacco, a tomahawk, and a small bottle of some liquid.

Sakura is healing the guy on the ground. He has leather pants and loincloth, no shirt, no shoes. He is Native American in appearance, and he's giving you the cold eye.

"He speaks no English or Nipponese, Jhiaxus." Sakura says.

"He looks Native American, and probably doesn't have much love for the White Man. In our history, our country treated him and his kind badly, took over their country, gave them little for it. Depending on if the revolvers are his, he might be from the latter half of the 1800's. During that period there was much fighting between his kind and mine. He might know English, but is angry, or not sure about us. There were many tribes of Native Americans with many languages, and each their own heritage and history."

"Gotta give it to them, brilliant use of available tech, they built a recharging unit for the laser, when the Sail Car front wheel moves, it recharges the packs. I'm a little bit in awe of it. This is defiantly a skill we need to learn her to survive the week."

*takes the last Durantium Hooksabre off his belt*

"Kara, I have been gifted with another Melee weapon, and Odin is fond of those who help others win fights. Here you have the most disadvantages of any of us here, and I want you to take something from this. I hope you get to keep it, I got this in my first world, and it served me well. You will be hard pressed to find a harder metal out there, and you have the raw strength to use it well. I disown it, and give it to you Kara."

*looks back at the cart*

"I think we should repair it well, I, Samas, or Powergirl could fit in it, or Sakura and Ce Ce could since they are the smallest physically, would make a great scout vehicle, either way it's an asset. Does anyone mind if I claim the the cart Laser and all when we are done. When you guys go back this will be a dream, but I can take this with me to my next world?"

*looking to use the tools and anything nearby to repair the car*

"Vina," He replies, and then babble something further. Sakura finished healing him, and he stands and bows to her. He takes his tomahawk, and put it on his belt, the peace pipe goes on his back, adn the bottle of liquid he pushes back at you. After that he goes over, and spits on a couple Gremlins.

Kara takes the hooksabre a bit diffidently.

"I'm used to using my fists."

No one objects to your claiming the vehicle when you're gone. The general idea is that Ce Ce and Sakura are better because Samas's armor is going to slow the thing down.

You work with the others to get teh mast more solid.

Samas opens the HF toolbox, and suddenly there's a flash of light, and she's head over heels to crash ten feet away on the iron plain with a resounding ring. The Gremlins left an electrical boobytrap in one of teh toolboxes. Sakura heals her some, and Samas grimaces as she surveys the damage to her suit.

"Going to have to shift to backup mode on my left arm."

After twenty minutes, the sailcar is about as good as its going to get. Its a bit wobbly, and you can see that its going to break more easily, but it should work well in normal conditions, you think.

"Shakey, if we find a metal or wooden object we should replace it out, but it will help us in the meantime"

"Phoenix wants us to fight evil and get to that other base. We know there is a necromancer somewhere and looks like other random people out here. We have a sailcar now, we have a place to put salvage, we have a fast scouting platform. We'll have Ce Ce and Sakura take the car, Sakura will steer since she can't fire the laser, and Ce Ce is free to man that or her Lightsabre, I will interject that I always wanted one, but that's another story altogether. If we survive to the night, I can go a bit on how I know of all of you. Anyway, our path is clear, Sakura and Ce Ce will stay about a quarter mile ahead, loop around come back and circle around us and check out flanks. We need to get decent ranged weapons for all of us, devices, food, water, shelter, a new mast and repair parts and upgrades for Samas's suit. Let's roll team.

*takes a careful look on the laser to make sure it and the charging unit aren't booby trapped, and changing in a fresh magazine, putting the used one in the former cradle, get's his gear and starts heading off, pulling out the Bowie knife, getting a balance to it, to start using it as one of my main weapons*

He takes the bottle of liquid, and experiments with the revolver to find the best way to hit someone with it. After a few practise swings, he puts it next to the tomahawk. The other revolver he shakes his head.

Its clear. He only needs two melee weapons as he has only two hands.

Samas pops open a shell on the underside of her right arm. She pulls a cord out of it, and between the two of you, you get the flexi-tip connection of hers to mate with our laptop. A quick download occurs, but Samas wants to move on, and study it at night.

Your team sets out with the scouting, and Vina laughs soundlessly when you make clear yo plan to protect him. He begins to lope along, and speeds ahead to look things over, adn then lopes back to everyone to smile. He then lopes forward again.

It grows dimmer, but not true night, after a number of hours. There's some discussion as to whether to go on or rest. The sailcar comes back with a siting.

There is a stone pylon with the head of a man on it up ahead.

*smiles at the revolver melee training takes the other, opens the wheel, checks how many rounds it has and check the bodies of the Gremlins for ammo, what type of Revolver is it, sounds like a .357, .44 Magnum, or a 45 Army Colt "Peacemaker" from your description, either way, as long as I have a few shots, I will show him what I am doing, close the wheel back up, put it in both hands, pick a target 30 yards away, line it up with the sights, make a motion to be calm and to expect something loud, and pull the trigger*

*if I find any ammo, I will give him half of what I have, open the wheel, take out the spent cartrdige and replace it and any others I can. I will also take the time to reload the Skorpian and the Jackhammer*

*rummages through my pack and pulls out my Ninja-To, knowing I will likely never use it again I hand it to him for another melee weapon, I also give him the ninja bow and arrows*

*once he finds a good spot, taking off his duster, finally noticing it fits him like a small tent now, and laying it on the ground for some of the ladies to sit or lay on, pulling out his giant dufflebag*

"I have some of the creature comforts, I have a toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, toilet paper, deoderant, some MRE's but we do have a sack of food. We are going to spend time together, so figure might as well make our resting time as comfortable as possible. Feel free to use my jacket for a bed, I do have other clothes to put on the ground to cushion it."

*looking at his Camera and smiling*

"I completely forgot I brought this from home, mind if I get some pictures with you girls?"

*if they agree, take pictures of them, take a group with them all with the timer, and shots with each one individually. The memory card is empty, room for hundreds of images, taking about 20-30*

*in good spirits, taking off his weights as they clunk to the ground heavily, pulling out his acoustic guitar and starts strumming some songs, if they want me to play, I will play the 5 or 6, I have made sheet music for.*

"I will tell them how I know them, and be truthful, I know Ce Ce only from passing from Wiki reading extended universe stuff about the old republic. I tell Samas, when I was a kid, 7 years old I played a game called Metroid, with Samus. I tell her I spent many hours playing her through that game, and she starred in about 5 or 6 games total, a very popular heroine. I tell Sakura, that I know here from an Anime called Naruto, and Naruto: Shippuden, and I followed their stories on my home world, and after I died and became a verser, I watched the rest in a future world. I tell Kara, I know her from comic books and animated series on TV. I will admit that if they scanned my mind that if the powers above scanned my mind for people to bring in here, that they chose the group because of their abilities that compliment each other, their ability to work within a team, and that they are gorgeous and I was attracted to them. I smile and tell them little did I know that fantasies do come true."

*grins and eats some food with them, and I do have water in a jug*

"Well we all know what time it is, sleep and watches. There are six of us, I want 3 watches of 3 hours each. Sakura your with Vina on first watch, Ce Ce your with Samas, Kara your with me on last watch."

*I unlock the laptop for Samas* "Feel free to explore, I trust you, don't worry about power, it's got a perpetual battery cell, I think I recharge it once a month or so."

*lays out his clothes for the others to have something other than hard ground to sleep on*

You have four bullets left in that gun, and five in the other. Both are .45 revolvers.

Vina hands the weapon back to you after you use it. He does not want it.

He likes the bow, and he's interested in the ninja-to.

You get some formal shots, and some shots of them goofing off.

There's not really much to do other than talk which everyone does as they trade stories, and sing, so you get to play all your tunes.

The dim 'night' is peaceful except for hearing some things pass in the distance. Here on the Iron Plains you can see for a very long way away. And despite the robes, everyone wakes sore. Its not like sleeping on the ground.

*listens to the talking head as it starts to rile up his team and puts away his breaking blade and bowie knife and draws his axe*

As you swing your axe, you feel your spirit separate from your body.

And you're standing in a cold mountainous realm of black rocks and flowing mists. The mists part, and you see a skeleton of a tree. Hanging from its two most prominent branches is one white cotton bandage for each branch.

And you see yourself hanging there by your wrists, in pain. And you see Odin Two-Eyes hanging on Yggdrasil for he sought wisdom. And then the tree is empty of bodies, but it has bandages.

*resigns himself to do the thing he feared doing and finding an appropriate branch setting it in line with his right eye, and plunging it through in pain and a howl, withdrawing back taking one of the white cotton bandages and wraps it around his eye and head and binding it in the back of his head, not knowing if it was the right thing to do, but a leap of faith*

((Who knows might be able to get the Sasuke Sharingan eye with my good eye))

You wake from the Iron Plains, and Kara and Samas help you up. You open your eyes, and they flinch back.

Your axe is by your right foot,a nd you pick it up.

You look at the talking head which is still there, and in mid-rant, and it goes silent.

It looks at you.

"Thank you, master." And it dies.

((OOC: I have been waiting for some test of faith involving the eye, and as I was loathe to do it myself, I saw the vision as a sign to do so. :P))

"That was, unexpected, looks like Odin has granted me ocular powers with that eye. It's not like Sasuke or Neji, but I feel they are appropriate to his domain. I think I will need to wear a eyepatch to protect people, till then I will try to close it looking at you guys."

*avoids looking at them with that eye*

"I'm confident now that we have the tools to fight this necromancer, let's push on, we are a great team, we just keep doing what we are doing and we'll end up just fine. Let's continue, and return these warriors to their place in Valhalla"

OOC: If your eyes are brown, then its light blue. If your eyes are blue, then the new one is so dark brown as to be black. Sasuke? Neji?

You detect other versers at a number of widely varrying vectors.

You push on. Several miles further, you see in the distance a group of slow-moving people gathering things. Getting closer, about three miles away, you can see that its a large collection of headless humanoids picking up 'litter'.

However, Samas points back the other direction. You can see three Nazi Tiger tanks making the run through the Wide Pass.

OOC: Sasuke is a ninja in Naruto, has the Sharingan, copies moves, does illusions that draw people in, can create an avatar, make black fire that consumes, Neji is another Ninja from Naruto, has the Byakugan, a 340 degree vison, that sees miles, can see chakra lines in people and can pin point strikes to hit them and disable them. I have blue eyes, so Dark Brown as to be black.

*looks ahead and behind, seeing problems, but knowing to deal with the move immediate one first*

"Samas how many missiles do you have? *whatever number she says, going to go with the below*, we can deal with what is ahead of us after we deal with the tanks. They are slow but still faster than our top speed, I think their front armor is heavy back a little less. The plan is to get inside, and take control of the last tank, and aim for the turret of the second, and first, then worry about disabling them completely. We can't let three tanks get behind us. Sakura and Ce Ce, you pilot the sailcar, Samas and I will coat our boots with grease from the toolboxes and hold onto the sides. Sakura, your job is to use your Illusions to make us appear not to be there. We get to the Third tank, Ce Ce cuts open the hatch, we board, take over, and I can figure out how to fire the main gun, while Samas helps you girls reload. It's a shakey plan but we have to do something about those tanks."

Given that the Iron Plains of Kharigen are well, iron, I'm thinking the magnetic boots might serve as a considerable or fairly so brake on forward movement. Thoughts??
