I'm going to try to use the psionic suggestion on a customer to telepathically implant the notion that they should pay for my meal without saying it aloud.
Fri Nov 5 2010 11:44 pm # -
*Cass puts her head in her hands as she watches this*
*A man at another table volunteers to pay your bill, he is wearing power armor, missing an eye with a scar and has enough weapons to stock an armory*
"I'll pay for their meal."
Fri Nov 5 2010 11:49 pm # -
"Thanks," I tell him. "We really appreciate the offer, and of course we'll accept."
Fri Nov 5 2010 11:56 pm # -
*He pulls out his credit chit and hands it to the waitress*
*Your meal is paid for, and you are having coffee, or Cass is*
Sat Nov 6 2010 1:08 am # -
Yeah, Cass; I'm not a coffee drinker. I'm smiling to her innocently.
Sat Nov 6 2010 1:13 am # -
*Cass shakes her head*
"Your taking my job, I'm the one who does things like that."
Sat Nov 6 2010 1:30 am # -
"I guess you must be rubbing off on me. Maybe soon I'll be able to take you up on that offer of punishment." Still with the same I've-done-nothing-wrong smile.
Sat Nov 6 2010 1:54 am # -
*She raises her eyebrow*
"Oh don't worry dear, you and I are going to spend the night testing those limits."
*she takes you back to your small room to disturb the people in the rooms around you*

Ohhh, fun, fade to black.
Morning! The sun comes up!
§
Sat Nov 6 2010 2:12 am # -
*You are awakened by a Private rapping on doors*
"Morning you maggots, this man's army doesn't start at 6am."
*It is 4:30 AM and you are exhausted*
Sat Nov 6 2010 2:26 am # -
Sounds fine by me. It's not my first time being exhausted.
Let's try to give myself a psionic suggestion to get up.
Sat Nov 6 2010 2:30 am # -
*You give yourself the suggestion to get up, and you to, Cass is groaning and going to r the bathroom and clear yourselves up, by 4:45, you are both showered and uniformed and report to your Scout Leader.*
*Do you know where you are going?*
Sat Nov 6 2010 3:08 am # -
UTS Hannibal, a Destroyer class ship, not the flagship but likely to see the front lines. Sir.
Sat Nov 6 2010 3:11 am # -
*He directs you to your meeting point and you and about 500 others are put into a transport and shoot off into space, you see the stars and the ships, it really is awe-inspiring. After about a half hour, you begin docking with a large ship with a lot of guns. You have about 20 minutes before you are let out, are you doing or looking for anything?*
Sat Nov 6 2010 3:56 am # -
Sure, a couple things. Try to find out whether any of these people were students of mine. Try to find out whether or not our ship's commanding officer is on board with us.
Sat Nov 6 2010 3:10 pm # -
*Your students went ahead and enlisted with the stipulation to follow you and Cass, so yes your 10 students are with you, so you do see familiar faces with you.*
*The commanding officer is not here, in fact you are the highest "officer" here, these being mostly enlisted men. If that changes your plans for the trip*
Sat Nov 6 2010 3:41 pm # -
That's good. All good. I'll wait to meet my commanding officer.
Sat Nov 6 2010 3:44 pm # -
*The ship docks after twenty minutes, and 10 minutes of checks of the shuttle, you debark*
*You are greeted by the Commanding Officer of the ship, Admiral Gustof Klybosh, a man in his 50's wearing a uniform, Black and Grey. He address you all*
"Welcome to my ship, you report to your Colonel, and he reports to me. Don't forget that chain of command, and make sure my ship runs as it should, dismissed."
*He turns around and leaves*
Sat Nov 6 2010 3:58 pm # -
I try to implant a psionic suggestion for him to think I look like a standout as an excellent asset bound for leadership.
Sat Nov 6 2010 10:48 pm # -
*He stops and turns around*
*He points at you*
"You, what's your name, you are obviously much better than this rabble, come walk with me, to get you the treatment you deserve."
*The others are not happy*
Sat Nov 6 2010 11:13 pm # -
Hahahaha. Gosh, it seems to have worked.
"Arziay, sir." I walk with him.
I figure that it could either go great or turn sour, but if it goes great, I can always pull some strings for Cass.
Sun Nov 7 2010 1:52 am # -
*He walks with you to his office, it's in rosewood, the entire thing, it's easily the size of three sleeping quarters, and there are plush chairs, bookcases, and mementos all around, including a set of power armor.*
*Looks you up and down*
"I am not gay son, but you are a damn fine specimen of man, I need a man like you directly under me *pauses*, as a buffer for the chain of command."
*He takes a bottle with two glasses*
"Scotch?"
Sun Nov 7 2010 2:03 am # -
"Scotch is good for me, sir. I'd be honored with the responsibility. You will not be let down by me." I am evincing a serious manner, and I do recall the serious mistake I once made toying with mental powers, so I'm just secretly glad that it worked and not trying another suggestion for now.
Sun Nov 7 2010 2:22 am # -
*He smiles*
"That's a good man, a single malted scotch is something to be savored. I don't like dealing directly with the Colonel, but the Navy has to deal with the Mechanized Infantry, so I want you to be my liaison between him and myself. The deal comes with a private quarters, and likely a fast track promotion schedule. You would also be in a position to be in meetings, and strategy sessions, and of course you would be given your own team on ship, a sort of a Admiral's private guard, in case something goes wrong."
Sun Nov 7 2010 2:30 am # -
I certainly am savoring the scotch. Been quite a while since I had some alcohol, and this is certainly worth it. "One day, sir, you'll look back on this decision as one of the best you ever made. I guarantee it."
Sun Nov 7 2010 3:16 am # -
*He nods and swirls the scotch in his mouth*
"Good we are going to War, don't let anyone else say different. Give me the list of your personal guards, and we will make sure they get better quarters, only 2 in a room instead of 4, with a bathroom, promotions are handled by the Colonel, but I have the ability to make recommendations. Well first thing you are to do when you get out of here is inform the Colonel who you are, and what your role is."
Sun Nov 7 2010 3:21 am # -
"The best one who comes to mind as a personal guard is my companion and best student Cassandra. I've been teaching her for years, and she's grown to the point that she can teach others.
"Of course, sir. I'll let the colonel know that we've met and you've assigned this task to me." I nod, all business.
Sun Nov 7 2010 1:46 pm # -
*He nods*
"Still think it's bad luck to have women aboard ship, but they do have the added benefit of keeping the men happy, so guess it is just something to live with."
*Pauses*
"Dismisses"
*You ask for directions and find the Colonel in the Mechanized Bay where some of the power armor and arms are stores, he is directing the men where to store the armor to make the most efficient use of space, and how to mobilize as quickly as possible.*
*He is about 6'2", salt and pepper hair, blue eyes, linebacker build, wearing a uniform and a sidearm and a sword, he turns to you and says.*
"Yes Lt?"
Sun Nov 7 2010 1:54 pm # -
"Second Lieutenant Arziay, reporting, sir." I salute as a Grey Warden. "I've just spoken with Admiral Klybosh, Colonel, sir. He assigned me the task of serving as liaison between the two of you."
Mon Nov 8 2010 12:27 am # -
*He looks you up and down and takes your hand and form it into the right salute, before saluting you back*
"Just drafted in, and already getting the Admiral's eye, how interesting Lt. So what all do you know about your job and what I do here?"
Mon Nov 8 2010 12:32 am # -
I'll try to read his mind. If it works, hopefully I can give him an impressive answer.
Mon Nov 8 2010 12:41 am # -
*You are reading his mind, it is not what you expect.*
*The PG-13 answer is him and the admiral were lovers, and now hate each other, so that's what he is thinking about mostly, and it is graphic, but you do also get glimpses of him running the mechanized infantry, while the admiral's people run the ship.*
Mon Nov 8 2010 12:58 am # -
"Well, sir, first of all, let me just state that I'm very good at reading people, and situations. The official answer, which I believe is what you're asking, is that you run the mechanized infantry, and he runs the personnel on the ship, and it is my duty to act as messenger boy for the two of you so that you don't have to seek each other out for every inconsequential matter. I'm here to help cut through the red tape a bit, sir."
Mon Nov 8 2010 2:13 am # -
*He nods and accepts your answer*
"Well your still under my command, so as long as you remember that, I have no problem with letting you do that job. What I need is some more storage space, we have a battalion of men and equipment for all. I need another cargo bay, that's if he wants men to be able to mobilize and not trying to shift equipment around."
Mon Nov 8 2010 2:17 am # -
"Of course. I'll take him the message. Anything else I can do for you while I'm here, sir?"
Mon Nov 8 2010 2:26 am # -
*Looks around*
"No this is really just a cluster f, too little time, not enough organization, once we get that other cargo bay, you can do a floorplan to see how to put the powerarmor's and hovertanks to make sure we can fit as many in as possible, while mobilizing as many as possible, dismissed."
*He salutes you*
Mon Nov 8 2010 2:35 am # -
I salute him, then go on a hunt for the Admiral.
Knowing that the commanding officers are in fact gay gives me a bit of a concern in the back of my mind. I'll try to find Cass's mind telepathically and tell her what I've discovered.
Mon Nov 8 2010 2:41 am # -
*You contact Cass and explain what is going on*
"Well, I guess that's why it's problematic to have relationships on the same ship. I mean with us, it's worlds, but you never know when a lover's spat can drag things bad. Well it looks like you got what you wanted, it doesn't look like you can afford to not do it. Thanks for making me smooth things over with the guys, I gotta find girls for them now to make up for it."
*She sounds giddy and frustrated at the same time*
Mon Nov 8 2010 2:49 am # -
Still looking for the Admiral, "I told him I want you to be my personal bodyguard, Cass. No worries, I certainly haven't forgotten about you, just as I know you wouldn't forget about me."
Mon Nov 8 2010 4:18 pm # -
*She sighs*
"Great, you realize you are going to need to throw a bone to your guys, they look up to you."
*The admiral is not in his office, any idea where to go now, or are you going to do something else to find out?*
Mon Nov 8 2010 4:23 pm # -
I'll ask a few other people to see if they know where he is. If they do, I'll take their word for it.
If not, I'll try to locate his mind, and connect to it as if reading his mind but not searching for his thoughts, instead, looking through his eyes momentarily; hopefully this will give me some idea of where he is.
Mon Nov 8 2010 4:36 pm # -
*You ask some female naval officer, she checks you out*
"He's on the bridge, so when do you get off Lt?"
Mon Nov 8 2010 4:48 pm # -
"Usually at night, but I'm not picky," I say with a grin and a wink as I head off toward the bridge.
If I don't know the way and there are no signs, I'll ask someone else for directions.
Mon Nov 8 2010 5:30 pm # -
*She looks at you in confusion as she doesn't understand what you twisted her words into.*
*You follow the signs, he is there, in the middle of giving a briefing to his bridge crew, going to interrupt, or going to wait till it is over, or do something else?*
