Welcome to a Martial Arts Tourney World.
1. The Tech is 15@10, and the Psi is medium high as well. Magic is zilch. Body is 15@10 as well.
2. Lots of space-faring alien races, mostly in a brawling, rowdy array of racial states that sometimes extend to numerous star systems that have been alien-formed. A few empires rule multiple alien races and star systems up to 200. Lots of trade and travel by hyperdrive.
3. Some alien races are really nasty, others are just mean, and some are decent folk. The Tartkighul are Really Nasty. Rumor has it that they make clones of other races to eat their brains after a general coalition of other races put to the stop their kidnapping other races adn doing it free range. Now the Tartkighul are limited to their star system, but there are smugglers who go to ....
4. The chief setting of the game is an asteroid in the middle of the Big Dark. It has no sun, but its located conveniently close to several major trade routes. And its current owners, the Sawcuth, are telepathic giant snails who run it as a giant casino with only two rules 1. Bring lots of money. 2. Don't mess with the Snails.
You can buy slaves (which is illegal in most jurisdictions). The drugs are available, but more expensive because the Snails think having dopies scattered around the place is unaesthetic...so there are Dope Rooms.
And to bring in the crowds, there are martial arts tournameants.
But they needed more.
And so by means not generally known, (it involved an old man who was a lot older than he looked), they built a space-time bubble, as they call it. Versers would call it a bubble universe. Inside it, magic worked.
They used it for the arena and staging ground, etc.. It was not really all that large...but it had Magic bias in the sevens.
And then they used a Superspace Attractant to snag anyone travelling nearby. Oh, they use criminals and such from their own universe, but they also use extra-d's.
So far...
1. 'I must find Sarah Connor and kill her'.
2. A giant hound dog who claims to be an interdimensional tracker on the path of a criminal. He respects Man a great deal, as in his universe, animals are uplifted, and Humans are superhuman, almost low angels. He's disdainful of the local universe as his is far more civilized.
3. Not too many versers, but a couple.
4. A scout from Intertemporal, Ltd..
5. A crewman from the Mary Piper, but the Emerald Duke device sorceror version of it. He's unhappy, and trying to decide between boiling everyone's blood or creating a miniature black hole and sucking the whole asteroid into it.
6. Captain James T. Kirk.
7. Lt. Cmmdr. Spock
8. Minuteman, a punky superhero
9.
More are welcome. Need all sorts of travellers. And of course, I need a fair number of villainous scum.
The guy lifting him is a slave,a nd not actually a bad 'thing'. But enormously strong.
Of course, I'm going to have some sort of override to keep the versers from versing out.
The fights are supposed to be non-lethal, at least at the beginning. If you win, you get a trillion credits. You also get the chance to challenge the house champion....nobody has won against him....if you win, the House will give you any request in its power.
Also, cheating by the House in the game is not wise as many of the gamers are the sort who can whistle up an armada of warships if they think they were cheated. Now, the HOuse does have good defenses, but its best defense is its impartiality. If soemone tried to intimidate the House, the other players who can whistle too would do so....unless they thought the House deserved what it got. So for the House ...reputation of honest dealing is a must.
