Quick fix.
On the LE site the flash intro says that in 1995 a sniper shot & killed a little girl in the ethnic cleansing of a Croatian village (or was it a Croat girl?). This is a record straighter.
1995 was a pretty quiet year in Croatia; as a matter of fact it was the year when the occupied territory was recovered. But the war in Bosnia was on 24/7.

Snipers used to walk around towns not villages. They were tools of terror (and tension, and God knows what else). Villages didn’t get the royal treatment; they would just mortar them and walk in.
