One more need for Multiverser would be Prototype Aliens. That is the Average Vulcan or Klingon. You'd also need to put in caps on the tops and bottoms.

And these could vary quite a bit.

Its not just a matter of Big Bulky Warrior Race has +@2 average strength, and so the cap for a BBWR is 3@2.

Although you could, and should do a lot like that. KISS.

But on occasion, you might have Clever Race. CR is +@4 I and +@2N2 (to try to use the Commonly Accepted Abbreviations Standard for Multiverser or CAASM :) ). But CR doesn't have geniuses. All it has is a lot of really smart people. So their cap could be 2@2 for I and 1@10 for N2.

Okay, enough Forge theorizing. On with the show.

====================================================================================

Naga World, if I remember right, and I'm pretty sure I do had two races. The Dar Koni and the Kreelak. One was a giant preying mantis, and the other was a mini-t-rex. Stats for them would be nice.

Worldwalker, my novel, has Blikten, Sarlai Kreet, and Kringsta.

Symbiont Academy, one of my developed worlds has Blikten, Sarlai Kreet, Rejji, a tri-gendered Other (I'll have to look up its name), and the Emmissaries. It also has the Galacticans, but they don't show up on stage, and might well be Space Gods.

Jaxonians showed up in one of my WAW articles where I argued that, or perhaps revealed that for me patriotism tends to be a utiliatarian value.

BTW: There were a few more species that showed up. One alien lizard verser swordsman who beat up Tad, and some hyperfast creaturers which lived near the Galactic Center so they were capable of photosynthesis that would create explosives (more light equals more energy equals longer molecules to hold the energy equals biosystems that can run on ....oh....long chain hydrocarbons for example....like gasoline.). There was also a collection of humanoid bovine telepaths who Tad nearly killed because of his violent thoughts--they were by nature pacifists, and didn't understand the concept of weapons.

So onward to making Aliens.

Sarlai Keet
============
They are also named the Threet. They were first invented by M.J. Young for The Valley world-setting where they were named XXXXXXXXXX. When I came up with a new explanation for The Valley for a game I was running, he accepted it as a variant from another universe, and thus I got an early introduction to making variants. And I believe MJ used another version of these in his novels.

In my view, making variants that you can reuse in another universe is a good story-telling technique for Multiverser. It also saves you, the GM labor, and allows you to develop your creatures more in depth. Lastly, it seems to have the Game Designer Seal of Approval. (Can you hear the high, barking yelps? Thats the Seal of Approval.)

A long time ago, they went by XXXXXXXXX. They developed a high-tech society. They colonized their solitary moon. Some even went further out into their Solar system, but those were the fringes at the time.

Society was founded on a Militant Corporation model. This is not Cyberpunk. Imagine instead IBM armed with tanks. It shared many aspects with Mercantilism.

Meanwhile, a research project or two was under way. In one, new genes were added to the test subjects, and strange new abilities start to flickeringly appear. Oftentimes drugs were needed to facilitate matters.

In another research project, the Planet Corporation which was in a state of Cold War with the Lunar Corporation, created a virus designed to subvert the protocols on the Comet Smashing Joint Project.

In ancient historical records which had been long thought to be myths, it had been deciphered that comets had struck the planet. So both corporations cooperated to creat a great mass of laser cannons aimed Outward to stop any repeat.

The Planet Corporation used their virus to take over the laser cannons, and turn them on the Moon. Bye-bye moon as the psi's in the other research project all screamed at the same time. And then as one, the psi's busted out, and headed as far away as they could to a refuge they saw in their minds.

For the attack had been miscalculated. The Moon did shatter, but not into dust. Instead it formed a large ring of rocks around the Planet. The laser cannons went first as the rocks filled their orbits. After that, gravity caught up to many of the rocks. And the Rain of Rocks started.

Over the next decade, civilization was first pummelled, then shattered, and finally extinguished on the planet. Except for one small Valley where Psionic Masters held off the rocks with the power of their minds.

And thus things stayed for centuries on the Planet.

However, what of the Spacebound? Those who had colonized the outer system? At first things were extremely grim, and so the Sarlai Kreet as they called themselves began to embrace cybernetics mechanisms woven into their skin and bone.

They stabilized, and rebuilt their society, and its economy. But having seen a glimpse of the Abyss for what they thought was their whole species, they were hard. And they chose a Communitarian Democracy.

With that, they flung themselves out to a few nearby stars.

However, by this time, many had still not embraced the new cybernetics, and the Hard Truths which is what they called their philosophy. And these found themselves a planet, and began to rebuild their society which they called the Recovery Society.

It was condescending no doubt, but that does not excuse what followed. The Recovery tried to go back several centuries, and find a basis for a society that was moral, and kind, and just, and still hi-tech. They preached that the Corporations had been mad which found no disagreement, but so were the Sarlai Keet with their cybernetics.

At first, they stumbled, but soon the Recovery found its feet, and began to grow wildly.

The Sarlai Kreet claimed fear which was true to some degree. But what they really felt was envy, and hatred because it seemed as if others would succeed on top of them. So the Sarlai Kreet sent a fleet to force.

When this was refused, they unleased their Slow Bake. It caused an unstoppable by them process by which a whole planet would be destroyed, but slowly so the victims would have days to bemoan their fate.

It worked.

And the Threet looked in their mirrors and laughed. But their brethren just down the hall from them looked in their mirrors and gasped in horror at what monsters they were.

Thus broke out the civil war between the Threet who argued for embracing destruction, violence, and nihilistic joy at your enemies' suffering, and the Sarlia Keet who tried to hold inside the madness that afflicted them.

It was called the War of Manners. Because both sides knew they were utter monsters in their hearts. But one wanted to substitute good manners to try to avoid the bloodlust.

At the time, and since then, no one has realized that the reason for this blood madness is their cybergear.

The Sarlai Keet won, and utterly destroyed the enemy except for a very few who escaped. Now, they bow and scrape, and do almost whatever it takes to avoid intractable conflict. Some beings laugh at them. But for all that, there remains a saying "Don't back a Sarlai Keet into a corner, or he will laugh your last laugh."

MORE LATER....

Pretty cool Tad. Something I was thinking about, kind of related. You know the aliens in Independence Day? How ugly they were? To them, they were good looking. The alien that Will Smith brings down might have been a supermodel on his planet. We look just as weird and scary to them as they look to us. We look at them and see a grotesque, ugly alien, they look at us and ALSO see a grotesque, ugly alien. Just something to consider.

The Jaxonians are viscerally ugly to Humans. Automatically repulsive.
