I just realized something in Bicentennial Man. He's trying to become human, but he is still programmed. He can only violate that programming on an order from a human. His girlfriend tells him that he needs to "Stop being so deferential." in an argument. That could be interpreted as an order from a human. Andrew starts thinking more clearly. He gets jealous, and angry for the first time. I was just thinking that Andrew could only do that, because he was obeying an order from a human, per his original programming. I thought people here might be interested in that.
