Point made MJ. It just bugs me. All my life people have called me crazy. I thought I was demon possessed for a while. I was talking to a lady I met through a personal ad. She was in a wheelchair because of muscular dystrophy, or some such thing. I figured "Finally, someone that will understand what it's like to be discriminated against." I told her I was psychotic. She said "I'm afraid you're just a little too psychotic for me buddy" and hung up on me. The funny thing is that I am totally opposed to political correctness. Except when someone calls me insane. I view it as a different form of racism. Have you ever been repeatedly hassled by the police because you were talking to yourself? You're a law student. Show me in the law books where it is illegal to talk to yourself. Doesn't stop the cops from hassling me. I thought I had free speech. Not to talk to myself, apparently. Maybe I'm too sensitive about it. My own family seems to think I can just turn it off any time I want to. When we are all in Heaven, I'm going to make everyone in my family that didn't believe me spend time inside my head. However long I live, that's how long they will have to spend inside my head. And when my mom, who is the biggest antagonist, is in the middle of a full-blown psychotic episode, I'm going to get up in her face and scream "I thought you said you could control it!!!!" I shouldn't have blown up at you like that. I'm sorry for that. But just understand. It's not you. It's everyone. My ideal world would be a place where no one else existed. Where I could just be alone and do whatever I wanted without somebody hassling me for it.

MJ, I realize that you're busy, but have you given any thought at all to those experiences I've had, and how they relate to my Multiverser character? I was just curious. (That and I don't want the thread to die) Let me know.

Sorry--pretty much whatever I said in this thread is what I thought about it; I might have let it percolate a bit, and if the question is raised again (without me having to do extensive backtracking through a thread) I might add to it.

I've had a few visions from God. One of them happened while I was having a psychotic episode, and the vision broke me out of it. Call it a psychosis-induced hallucination if you would like, but I genuinely felt the presence of God. I having the episode, and I kept screaming "God, WHAT DID I DO TO DESERVE THIS??????" I saw before me, a vision of Jesus. He was wearing the crown of thorns, I could see the wounds He got from the whips, the spear wound in His side, and the nail prints in His wrists. He was covered with what looked like crude oil. I'm guessing it was my sins. He held out His hands, and said "What did I do to deserve THIS John?"

I've had a few others, one of them was actually a vision of the future of the world I am playing, if I stayed on the course I was taking. Four possible futures unfolded, in complete and total detail. You've heard of your life flashing before your eyes? How about four lives? All of them possible results of the actions I was taking. I realized that I had been being a real idiot towards MJ. I'm not making that up I swear!!

I've had God confirm His presence to me, by controlling the wind.

I've received driving directions from God, that put me within about 50 feet of my destination.

God has controlled my sleeping to make me see something important.

I was given God given instructions for witnessing to someone.

I've spoken in tongues, been "Slain in the spirit" and was temporarily paralyzed by God to keep me somewhere I needed to be. This one was freaky. I was at church with my girlfriend, and I was thinking about leaving. The pastor looked right at me and said "Anyone who wants to leave won't be able to." Both of my legs fell asleep instantly. I'm not kidding.

That could be a psionic skill too, couldn't it? Mind reading, psionic paralyzing, and later, marionette TK (because I stood up later when she told me to.)

Maybe.

MJ, have you given any further thought into those prayers that I had answered? It's been a month, and I was hoping you let it percolate a bit.

Also, I blew up at you after you called my sanity into question. I shouldn't have done that. It just bugs me sometimes. I posted a personal ad, in the ad, I clearly said that I was psychotic. Somebody posted a response. It ended something like "I think we are all better off without psychos in our life!!!" Another time, a lady I was talking to from a different personal ad, she was confined to a wheelchair. I thought "Finally, someone that will know what it's like to be discriminated against because of a handicap." When I told her I was psychotic, she said "I'm afraid you're just a little too psychotic for me buddy." and hung up the phone. It's something I'm trying not to be too sensitive about, but it still bugs. So, forgive a few vents here and there.

What I've come to concerning those prayers is that for the moment I'm not worried about what they were. I would have been concerned about them before, when we were creating your character, because they would have mattered to your mag bias; but your mag bias is now rather high (largely because of your summoning skill) and I don't think the prayers you've described would make it higher.

What I expect will happen is one of three things:

  1. You will never do anything like those prayers during play, so they will never matter.
  2. You will pray something which you and I agree is "the same thing" you prayed before, and then establish that you've already got an amateur skill ability level at this from having done it once, write it on your sheet as such and roll it as a known skill.
  3. You will pray something which you and I agree is "not quite the same thing, but similar", and we'll set up a skill learning roll, maybe include +11 for a 1@1 example from having done something that like it before, and roll to see if you successfully learn the new skill, which will go on your paper and be the one you use thereafter.
Thus it does not really matter what I think about those prayers now, and won't matter until (and unless) you decide to use the same prayers in play at some point.

Fair enough MJ.
