My mom is getting me the Referee's Rules for my birthday tomorrow (March 13, 31 years old) Apparently, there has been some kind of delay with shipping the book. I was wondering if MJ might be able to shed some light on this. Also, how many world books are there? I think there are 2 from MJ, and I know Eric wrote a few, how many did he write? Are there any other world books? Just wondering.

There is a snag somewhere in the distribution chain; the best way to get the books is to order them directly from Valdron, or from a store that has them in stock (such as Days of Knights in Newark Delaware). We're working on the snag.

Valdron has published two Books of Worlds, which are described here. Eric's works are published by Eric under some agreement he worked out with someone (not me, thankfully) at Valdron. There is some information about his various publications here, including links to the sites where he sells them.

There is a Third Book of Worlds in the works, and also the new Multiverser Triple Play series, but I don't have dates for release yet.

Did you disable commenting to your blog? I tried twice to leave comments on today's entry, and both times it failed. Well, good luck fixing the problem with distribution. What's the use of having the greatest product in the world if you can't get it to the customers?

1. Placeholder Worlds (Its got a longer title, but thats the essential...). I'm thinking of re-doing this one, and adding a whole bunch of sketch worlds to it, and just calling it Placeholder and Sketch Worlds instead of the somewhat clunky title I have now.

2. Worldbook: Nine Alternate Realities (This has two parallel Steampunk settings--Johnoseven, btw.).

3. Worldbook: Science-Fiction (If you'd like an example of what is in this, just search the blog for 'Jon Quick', and you should find a posted world used in this book.)

I also have non-Multiverser stuff such as my novel, Death of a Blogger, and I think two separate d20 adventures.

I hope to put up Worldbook: Fantasy by the end of April.

I'm currently working on my basic sentence structure skills to solidify this area of my writer's kit, and so I've been trying to resist the siren call of new world creation, or novel writing.

Edward Carroll has co-written some of this with me.

Where does Music Wars fit into all of this? Or is that just one you want to play with for a while?

In part, I'm waiting for YOU to finish yours. Eventually tho', I'll finish Alpha, and publish it anyways. I have several worlds which are half-done, and Alpha is one of them. I may try to speed it up, and stick it with the next book of Worldbooks after WB: Fantasy which is WB: Grim Futures.

Of course, I'd also like to do that expansion of Placeholders into a GM's Guide Volume #1 with the charts for weapons and vampires and stuff.

Get Beta done, and you'll encourage me to be faster.

I had to look long and hard for the Multiverser main book. I eventually found it but I had to order directly from somone, not through Amazon, it is not the most easy game to find, and that is a shame for it is a damned good game. :)

By the way can anyone give a list over what supplements are available for Multiverser?

Tad, my mom is getting me the Referee's Rules for my birthday. It hasn't come yet. When I get that book, I'll probably be working a little harder on Music Wars Beta. It would help if I kind of knew what I was talking about, ya know?

Very good point, John.

Nephandi, if you look on Lulu.com, and search 'worldbook', you should find mine. I'm not sure how to access MJ's Books of Worlds, although I'm sure he has a link.

Eric

I think being a verser would be a really cool afterlife. When I get to Heaven, I want to try it out. Maybe put a 5,000 verse limit on it. I would want to get back to Heaven EVENTUALLY!!!!

That was kind of silly of me not to have included links to the various books.

All of the official Valdron books are on this page, along with the address for ordering by mail and the links for ordering through PayPal and CCNow. We will be adding the new Google payment option as soon as we can incorporate it, but I don't know how long that will take (since I forgot that I'd agreed to look into that until just this moment). As mentioned, it is not easy to get the books through other distributors right now. However, I know that Days of Knights has all four books in stock, and that they do a mail-order business. I do not know what they charge, but I'm happy to send business to them, as they have always been supportive and encouraging of us.

Eric has given links to his materials; I'll give a more comprehensive link to support materials. If you go to our support site, you will find:

  • Stuff that should have been in the rule book but wasn't ready when we went to print, such as the On the Fly Character Generation stuff and the Magic Skills Worksheet;
  • Just about everything in the two world books that you might wish to photocopy or tear out of the book--the letters the player characters might find in one world or another, the maps on which you might be doing some drawing, the crewlists for the Mary Piper, so you can cross out and change it as you go;
  • The QBASIC program I use to generate Mary Piper runs, so I'm not rolling dice for every step of the way;
  • Jim Denaxas' drawings of the monsters that populate Tristan's Labyrinth, in case you want to print them and show the player what it is he can't see in the dark;
  • Links to the Legends of Alyria game and interfacing stuff, so you can drop your Multiverser characters into Alyria;
  • A link to a separate page with my "unofficial Multiverser stuff", including
    • The Martial Arts in Role Playing Games site, which gives a lot of help for creating and converting styles into Multiverser play and includes over fifty ready-made styles;
    • Articles that might be helpful generally, such as Intuition and Suprise, I'm Not a Lawyer But I Play One In a Game, the Law and Enforcement in Imaginary Realms series, the Theory 101 series, and links to Gaming Outpost and the Christian Gamers Guild where I've got some serious volume of stuff
  • A similar link to a page describing some of Eric's "unofficial" support materials, which he has already described above.
So there's plenty of support, and a fair amount of it free if you're on the Web.

As mentioned, we are working on

  • Multiverser: The Third Book of Worlds
  • Old Verses New: The Second Multiverser Novel
  • For Better or Verse: The Third Multiverser Novel
  • The new Multiverser Triple Play series, short sets of three worlds each, including
    • A horror set of Cask of Amontilado, Slasher Summer Camp, and Haunted House;
    • A space set of Terranova Habitat, Starship Destiny, and The Wanderer;
    • Several others which slip my mind at the moment.
  • more stuff I've probably mentioned elsewhere.
It's boggling sometimes.

Hope this helps.

As an experiment, I'm putting together "Multiverser Magazine Vol #1" which is 95% complete. I don't know if I could do this every month as I have other more important obligations, and so far, I'm just republishing stuff I've already done....

It took me a day to get it all together. I'm waiting on what someone thinks of one of the pieces in it. And then I need to find a fast DSL and upload it...if I do it at home, it would take forever, and be very awkward.

I wish I could get Valdron to join me in the e-book age...

But I am reminded of the old magazine called "Traveller's Guide" which came out for a long time, and served as a suplement to the Traveller space adventure game. In their day, they were considered pretty cool.

And a collection of short articles, NPC's, a bit of this and that, and some sketch worlds of varying sizes might be pretty cool. Some credits are listed that are familar names around here, too.

And if I do it for long enough, it will serve as the base for the 'Gamemaster's Guide' that I think MV needs.

Thanks for the info pepole. So there are three official RPG books ad a novel? I need to novel then to complete my set. Do anyone know where I can get it? Amazon do not seam to have it.

Yes being a Verser would be cool. I would love to visit all my favorite fiction settings like World of Darkness one and two and Wheel of Time and so on, there are so many nice settings out there it would be fun to visit. :D

As I say, I know that Valdron has copies of everything and can ship them. Shipping costs are probably going to increase pretty soon (I've actually promised to do the work, but they won't increase until I get the time to make the changes to all the links for the various payment systems), but if you get them soon the current pricing will hold.

I did not really figure out Valdron, how do I get my hands on the novella, how do I ude that site?

O.K., if you go to http://www.multiverser.org/multiverser/purchase.html you will find all the available books listed, pictured, and briefly described, with prices.

At the top there's a link for the company mailing address, which is near the bottom of the page so you can just page down to it. You can order by mail, sending check or money order there.

Each book description also includes a couple of payment links. One will read CCNow, which is an online credit card processor; if you want to pay by credit card and don't like PayPal, clicking that link will start the purchase process through CCNow (which functions as an independent retailer shipping product for a variety of client manufacturers).

If you like PayPal, clicking the PayPal link will process your payment through them. They of course take credit cards, but they also have an online money transfer system for those who have accounts with them.

In either case, your order through CCNow or PayPal will be e-mailed to us, and we'll ship it. Shipping and handling charges are a bit awkward, because the credit card processors do these differently, but if you order by mail it's $4.50 for any number of books.
