I've been thinking for a while that there's not much that distinguishes my Blogless Lepolt posts here from any other blog entries (although I'm not certain whether there are any other blog entries). I noticed today that it was possible to create "subcategories" for articles posts; of course, I'm also aware that the tags can be used effectively to search for things.
Thus it occurred to me that I could create a subcategory under Blogs for the Blogless Lepolt posts (and similarly, anyone who blogs here could create his own such subcategory). It would take me a bit of work to pop all the old posts into that subcategory, but it doesn't look like it would be too difficult. In the alternative, I could go back through and add the tag "Blogless Lepolt" to all of them, so they would all show up on a search for that tag. It looks like maybe about the same amount of work.
I thought I'd ask which you would prefer.
On much the same subject, I noticed that the same thing might be done with the articles. I am venturing to catalog all the Game Ideas Unlimited articles, and am very pleased with the orderly manner in which they can be located by month and year now. As long as I was doing that anyway, I could either mark them all in a subcategory (I was thinking in fact of a subcategory "M. Joseph Young" and another within that, assuming the software supports stacking that deep, "Game Ideas Unlimited", with my other articles here in the author category only) or Tag them all with the series name. I noticed that a lot of old articles, including many of my early Game Ideas pieces, are listed as author "Lost to the Ages", and I'm inclined to put my name back on them. While I'm in the neighborhood, I can probably recognize at least Seth's stuff and Eric's and a few others, so getting them a bit better organized by author and series wouldn't be that much more work for me.
So before I start messing up what's not really broken, do you have any thoughts/preferences on how it's done?

Going with tags is probably the better option. Reason is, at some point, I'll be doing some tweaks to the layouts that'll make the distinction between blogs and articles a bit more clear. At that point, I'll be able to show off your blog, say, by having a spot on your author homepage that shows everything (1) written by you that is (2) in the blog category.
For your articles, again, tags are best. I'd really like to keep categories to a minimum. I know it doesn't look like much of a distinction now, but I want to leave myself the option to make it so as I do work on the site.
And that would be absolutely terrific if you tagged old articles. The "Lost to the Ages" was simply because, when we transfered stuff over, we couldn't find a user account to match the article to (I think we were syncing by email address in the system). If you know who the author should be, by all means go ahead and change it.
