The United States prospered far faster than Africa. This gave the USA the ability to take slaves. What if there were a world where Africa prospered faster, and enslaved Europe? Now, You are the slave. You are the hated minority. Do any worlds like this exist? I could imagine that racism issues are probably avoided. However, I thought perhaps it might also reach out to other races. (Ya know, I really hate talking about anything even remotely related to racism. No matter how you say it, it never sounds right)

Think Egypt. MJ already has a world (or part of one) where Rome still dominates in the 20th century; a few modifications of that could get you exactly what you're looking for. Egyptian colonies in the New World, built on the backs of European slaves, who bring their strange, savage religions with them (druidic traditions, anyone? Old Irish folk beleifs?).
That would be cool.
