Anybody seen Graeme lately? I know I've been very sporadic in the posts to my game, so I'm not going to complain about him doing the same. But I haven't seen anything from him in a while now, and I'm just starting to wonder...
Graeme started a masters degree program which is consuming much more of his time than he anticipated, and since he generally posts from work (who would have imagined a twenty-first century engineer who does not have Internet access at home) his availability is sorely limited.
I empathize with you sincerely. He's running my game, too, and I'm eager to find out what's going to happen in that world as well as in yours, which fascinates me.
I might have to ask him to forward some explanation of what he intended in this world and take over for him--can't have you abandoned--but let's see whether he manages to post something in the days ahead. He does get here from time to time.

Yes, I can definitely sympathize with a masters degree program eating your life. (Mine usually isn't too bad except around final paper time--the trade-off is that by taking only one class a semester, it'll take me a good 5 years to graduate.)
Don't feel too bad. It took my mom 6 or 7 years to get a 4 year degree. And she was STILL never around.
I'm the one who suggested this world for Kelly as I had just read some of the books, and I thought that they were the type of books that would be very much indeed in her line.
I'm not really sure what Graeme is trying to do although I do have some inkling as I recognize the father character, and I think I understand part of the bit about First Edition booklegging....
I think I've read all the books in the series, and they were great. Its been a while tho' since I read the last one.
I don't know where Graeme was intending to take the story, and its such a world that it could go in all sorts of directions, really, really weird directions at that.
Edit: Devout readers probably experience this on occasion. You read a book, and you immediately think of a person it would be just perfect for. So it was with this series.
What series? Both so I can read it after I verse out and so that I can avoid it while I'm playing in the game. Spoilers aren't fun.
The Thursday Next series by Jasper Fforde includes "The Eyre Affair", "The Well of Lost Plots", "Something Rotten" and some others. The heroine's name is...Thursday Next.
It was very popular a few years ago, and its quite humorous, and zanily creative. Its the book series that a lot of authors have wanted to be able to write, but evidently couldn't until Fforde came along.
It is a booklover's series, and well-suited to English majors and those who've spent way too much time sitting in restauraunts reading SF.
Edit: Okay, some author's have succeeded in writing books like this, but they weren't as good, nor as prolonged, and many of them just weren't that good for even a whole book let alone a series. It was a marvelous achievement that Mr. Fforde created and is not likely to be equalled for decades or longer in his own extremely peculiar niche.
