This is a public apology to MJ. (I do this a lot, don't I?) I can't believe I was arguing with you over whether or not my guns would jam. All I could have done is make the botches worse. (I still think gun related botches of any sort are far too common in this game to be realistic, but it's not worth arguing over) Hey, at least I admit it when I realize I'm wrong. You have to give me that much credit.
I don't think that gun-related botches are too common. I note particularly that even in a low-tech world Geneice had only a 1% chance to botch against hard-to-hit ghouls because of her expertise. I tend to use jammed or dropped weapons in combat situations because they're quick and easy, they usually cost only one attack, and I have the restriction that combat is already dangerous. In some combat situations I would probably allow considerably more dangerous gun botches--breached the hull of the spaceship, fired into a fuel tank, shot out the tires on your escape vehicle, knocked yourself off balance with the kick while standing in an open vehicle--but I have to think that the situation is already dangerous in some way to justify saying that the use of a gun in that situation invited a dangerous botch. (I can always allow dangerous botches in combat if something inherently dangerous is being used, such as explosives.)
In low tech worlds the chance to botch goes up. That's appropriate, because it reflects the fact that technology does not work as well in low tech worlds. In high tech worlds the chance to botch goes down in the hands of those who have high tech biases. That's how it works.

I say it's not worth arguing over, so he argues over it....
A simple "Apology Accepted" would have been more than adequate.
