Well, I don't know about you, but I'm kind of worried about the guy. He hasn't replied to any email either.
He was lately remarking that he had trouble with his internet connection. Maybe it's that.
I'm fairly sure everything's okay, though I'm a bit worried too. But he's just very busy and all.
I was starting to wonder, too.

Yes, it was technical difficulties. Those who are on the Chaplain's Bible Study List got a brief post to that effect, and received daily postings through other computers, but that was all I could manage. I lost my dial up service sometime Monday, and it has taken all week to get my computer to recognize and operate a wireless modem to hook into the cable.
As to cable modem making everything faster, it really doesn't. It downloads things faster, but I can't read them faster and I can't type answers faster, and since I'm quite accustomed to having a dozen windows open simultaneously, the amount of time I spent waiting for something to load was generally negligible. I suspect it will help with web site maintenance and uploading programs for the radio show, but those are very small parts of the total workload here, so I don't see it as a big deal.
Anyone using the Dandy e-mail address or any of the AOL addresses should delete them and replace them preferably with mjyoung.net addresses. I don't think anyone here is.

Good to hear you're back. I hoped it was something like this, and not an unexpected visit to the hospital or something among those lines.
Well, there was an unexpected visit to the hospital, but that was last week and I was only accompanying the patient and keeping her company while they got her settled. (My mother-in-law broke her other hip, and is now in a nursing care facility for "rehab".)
John, so far what I've noticed is that all the other programs on my computer open and run more slowly. I've saved almost no time with Internet access itself, because I always load multiple pages at once and thus they are already awaiting my attention when I get to them. The bulk of the time spent on the Internet is really in reading and writing (which is one reason why your multiple posts and multiple e-mails are sometimes frustrating--when I have thirty e-mails waiting, that five of them are from the same person is a nasty chunk, and the more so when one of them is asking why I didn't answer some previous e-mail). But when I hit the buttons to open the character spreadsheet and it takes thirty seconds instead of ten, that feels problematic.
