I wanted to point out that the user icons that show up next to your comments on articles (and eventually the forums) are based on the Gravatar service. It's a kind of distributed user avatar/icon system that allows you to have the same avatar on multiple sites without having to set it up on each one. Regardless, if you want an avatar on GO, you can set one up at Gravatar and just use the name email address you're using here. Then it'll start showing up.
