MJ, I get the notion of guns jamming now. They don't jam too often. I just realized that, for every 100 guns that almost never jam, there's at least 1 which jams every other round. (I should know, I've owned a few of them) If you average that out, it probably equals about the jam rate I would have with my Ruger in game, even though it almost never jammed in real life. In the game, the $10,000 piece of military hardware jams just as often as the $100 Saturday Night Special. Average that out, and you probably get the jam rate in the game. It is, in fact, realistic, if you want to get technical about it.

Glad you see it. Let me point out a few more details.
- The guy who is professional with the weapon will have fewer jams than the amateur; the expert will have fewer jams than the professional.
- The gun is more likely to jam under adverse conditions, such as a fire fight in which it may be overheating.
- Because the Saturday Night Special has shorter ranges than the best military hardware, for the same shots the cheaper gun is more likely to jam.
- If the tech bias in a world is low, then no technology works as well, and in that case all guns are more likely to jam.
- They are less likely to jam in a world in which the tech bias is higher, in the hands of those with an understanding of technology, but will still have a higher probability of jamming in the hands of those who don't really understand how they work.

Well I was speaking "All things being equal." If the range was a problem, then the Saturday Night Special gets a larger target bonus. Not arguing in the slightest, actually agreeing with you. Just in a convoluted sort of way. I get it now. I told you about a survivalist 22 rifle that I had, right? It jammed (on average) every 3rd round. I did get a few 10 shot bursts out of it, but mostly, it was a piece of junk. Average that out against the real-life AK-47, which almost never jams, and you get the jam rate of my gun in the game. It makes sense to me, don't argue. I just perhaps have a different way of looking at it than you do.

Mistake, Sorry.
