Since you're new here, I think I should tell you a few things. First, people come, people go. I've seen at least 20 different people come and go. Some just disappear without a trace.
Secondly, it's generally considered rude to post on another person's game thread, unless you have something meaningful to contribute. And even then, think long and hard about it.

I wouldn't say "generally considered" rude. Some players will be irritated, but others won't mind. I'm one of the latter; I think Adam and Pharaoh (John I) are among the former.
In general, post if you have something to say.
I see. Well, I have actually only ever been on one other forum in my life, so the finer points of etiquette still escape me. Um...As to the post, I was just a bit sad that there had been no posts in that story for 2 months and felt like commenting, sorry if it bugged you.
JohnA1nut-you are John 2, if I am not mistaken? That's the thread I was backtracking through, trying to find the start of the story, next.
If Kurt comes back and complains, you might want to apologize, but until then, you haven't really done anything wrong. Don't worry about it.
My thread is John Cross in TerraTerraTerranova. It should be linked back to my verse in point. There were a couple of site glitches and we had to restart it several times.
Oh, OK. I figure once I have read ALL of the character stories contained on this site, enough time will have passed that I can buy the book and have even more to read. I am a voracious reader, and I love gaming, so nothing is quite like a gaming book :)

On that note, I've noticed many of your posts say (doing therapy) at the bottom, that a reference to that?
Yeah, therapy for the psychosis. (Doing Therapy) means that, at the time of that writing, I was heavily intoxicated and in a psychotic state. (That's the short version. MJ doesn't like it when I go into detail) It's more for me, to chart the improvement.

Considering that, 4 years ago, (Doing Therapy) meant that I was screaming obscenities at the top of my lungs, I'd say being able to type out a (mostly) coherent email is quite an improvement, wouldn't you?

Yeah, there have been changes over time as far as whether it's appropriate to post in someone else's game thread, and there are some players who find it very annoying and others who consider it part of the camaraderie. To me, the downside is I don't want threads derailed with extended conversations because it makes my job more difficult when I need to backtrack to find something, but the upside is that people get to know each other.
You can always post any questions about someone else's game in the Behind the Screens thread. That's the better place to post, particularly if you're wanting to know why something is happening.
As far as Kurt, I don't have an answer. People sometimes get busy and don't show. Sometimes they never return. Sometimes they get locked out and only get back in by contacting me or the site administrators by e-mail and getting the problem fixed. Kurt was playing well, and I think having a good time. It might be that he got too busy at school or something. I'll admit, though, that I often wonder in such cases whether someone decided they just didn't want to play anymore.
We've had a few people pop in and out several times over the years, and at least one former player who no longer plays but does sometimes run games and certainly participates in other forum threads.

Mmmm, by the way MJ, I won't be asking to make a character immediately-I want a better understanding of the game first, as well as some time to read some of the verser's stories. I'll be around though.
Hey Brock, I feel the need to tell you something else. It's taken me a long time to fully grasp this idea, and I really hope I'm not stepping on MJ's toes by saying it, but here goes.
MJ, as site moderator, is obligated to read every single post on this board. Every non-game post that he answers meant that it takes him that much longer to get to the actual games. In the time it's taken him tonight to answer your posts, he probably could have answered all of the game threads.
I'm the last person who has the right to tell people not to post (I'm easily the second most frequent poster after MJ) but it's just something to keep in mind for the future.
I hadn't though of that consciously until after he answered a couple. Believe me, I would have made 20 posts, all in now dead threads (of which I HAVE done a couple) already if I hadn't consciously told myself not to, as there would be little point. I have only ever been in one other forum, and I got kicked out of it for triple posting hehe. *hangs head in chagrin*.
Don't worry, Brock--we never excommunicated John, so you're pretty safe.
