Can you give more specifics on what "reading me as a spammer" means? I checked his user profile and can't see anything out of whack with it.
Occasionally when I post a link in my posts it locks me out as if I had posted spam. Last time it happened I was locked out for days and then someone unstuck me. This time it unstuck itself after a couple of hours.
That's really odd. Do other people have problems when making posts with links?
Like I said, I looked at your user profile and didn't see anything out of the ordinary with it. There is a setting to block you or mark you as restricted, but neither was turned on. So what I'm trying to figure out is, is there something special about you or is it a posts-with-links issue generally?
I post links. I haven't had that problem. Not sure how useful that information is, but it's at least a data point.
YES! I was trying to make a thread that consisted of useful links to game threads so people could find archived threads. It didn't work all that well. When I was the one to start the thread, the entire thread was marked as spam. When MJ started it, my post was marked spam.
The spam filter generally isn't friendly to stuff with a ton of links, just because a ton of links is what spammer usually post. Unfortunately, the forums get a TON of spam, so turning off the filter probably isn't an option. It may just be something we have to deal with. Or just break up posts with lots of links.
I figured that was the case. I decided to just keep the useful links and supply them to those that want them. They include archived threads, so they are particularly useful.
