Ya know, I just had this strange thought. MJ, did you ever do any kind of prison outreach when you were more involved in ministry? I imagine Multiverser would be pretty popular in prisons. Their chance to escape the confines of the place, at least in a figurative sense. (And I said this, word for word, in an email I just wrote you.) Seriously, an outreach ministry, lead by the Chaplain of the Christian Gamer's Guild, which gives prisoners the chance to escape from jail. Like I said, just a strange thought.

Ya know, I just realized something. You've all seen me repeat the same thing over and over again. It's a symptom of the psychosis.
I just realized, even having a full-blown psychotic episode is, for the most part, just repeating the same ten words over and over. Eight if you consider that two of the words are said twice. My doctor said it's like that for all psychotics of my type, not just me.
I just thought that was kind of interesting.

That is an interesting thought. Then again, from my experience in prison ministry, it didn't seem like most of the people who showed up to prison ministry would be the type to catch on to MultiVerser. I suppose it could work with a different prison ministry crew (if you could find a mathematician in the house to run it).
Yeah, I started thinking about that too. The prisoners might enjoy it, in concept, but who would run the worlds? Well, it was just a strange thought. That and 50 cents will get you a can of Pepsi.

I did a bit of prison ministry in college, but the brief meetings that were held would not be conducive to gaming, and I can think of better things to do with the time.

Actually MJ, it was kind of meant as a potential source of clientele. Offer the game for sale to the New Jersey State Prison. See what happens. Like I said, just a weird idea.

MJ, I just remembered this suggestion I made. Did you ever follow up on offering the game to the New Jersey State Prison? I really think RPGs have the potential to be really popular in prisons. It would be their chance to get out of there for a little while, at least in a figurative sense. Worst thing that can happen is you waste some time contacting them about it. "Nothing to lose, except your virginity" to use a phrase popular in the 80s.

John, I've got some rather more pressing problems and think that if the State of New Jersey said yes I'd be hard-pressed to meet the demand. Besides, I'm sure they'd be glad to have me contribute copies to the major prisons, and I don't have the resources to give away copies to people who can't introduce the game to their shopping friends.

Did you know that the company which originally made Oreo cookies was hard-pressed to meet their demands too? Besides, isn't being "Hard-pressed to meet demand" the goal of every good businessman? If they do ask you to contribute copies, say no. Maybe one or two for evaluation purposes, but that's it. "Sorry, I just can't afford it."

This is true. However, when you muddle through that bed of quicksand, it should be something to at least check into. A couple of phone calls would probably be all it would take, at least to find out if they would even be interested. It's just a thought that won't get out of my head, and we all know what happens then....
