On Tuesday, 29 Sept. 2009 shortly after 2 p.m., Carol Mastick, wife of John Mastick, died of internal bleeding associated with liver failure. She was fifty-six. She leaves behind husband John, who has shared in our games from time to time.
I know that John can be reached through Facebook (you will find him on my own friends list there), and that he sometimes reads posts here.
I have tried to call him, but not yet caught up with him; he did drop me an electronic note with the news.
I'm sure everyone will join me in extending our sympathies.
John is a long-time friend from my stay at Luther College, and played in The Last Psalm and Jacob's Well with me years ago; he is a deacon at his local Lutheran church. Carol was formally Roman Catholic, but had been attending the Lutheran church in recent years since their marriage.
