I would have to say that I was not surprised that Adam requested that I delete a portion of a post in which John made reference to him. Although it was probably not libelous and it may have been intended as a joke, it made me uncomfortable when I first read it. I don't like to edit or delete the genuine posts of others, but we can't have this sort of thing continuing here.
I need both of you to drop it.
Do not post about each other unless it is something affirming; and do not post something affirming if you cannot do it without some sort of backhanded comment included.
John, I know that you are dealing with your own "mental illness" and that it makes some things hard--like letting go of things that are over. I'm sure there are a lot of well-mashed equine carcasses strewn about your life. I cannot allow you to do that here, and I've given you more than enough slack.
Also, you both have my e-mail addresses; referee@mjyoung.net is the one I use for Gaming Outpost matters, and you can write to me there if there is a problem--but do not abuse that privilege (John), as I do not have time to listen to your petty complaints about each other. You are both good, decent people with strengths and weaknesses, and I'm sorry if you got under each other's skins, but we broke up that situation precisely for that reason, and we need the problem to end now.
I'd ask you to shake hands and play nice from now on, but I think it would be better simply to ask you to refrain from posting about each other at all until and unless you find something positive to say.
Thank you.

I think so too. That's how you kill a psychotic episode. It requires the brutal, bludgeoning sacrifice of a freshly killed equine carcass. They all were like that, in one way or another. You think this was bad? Some of them made me scream obscenities for hours on end, so put it into perspective, ya know?

Oh and BTW, that was intended as a joke.

Oh and ya know what MJ? Like I told you over email, you said "We found out that (I) will grouse for years if things don't go they way I think it should have in retrospect."
No, change that to "I will spend years desperately trying to understand something which is confusing the hell out of me." And you would have it right.

Many, many posts (Hey, 4 years ago I would have been screaming)
When I say that I had to sacrifice an equine carcass for all of the psychotic episodes, I mean exactly that. When I first developed the therapy, I controlled the psychotic episodes with recorded mantras which played the same phrase over and over. Some of these I had to listen to for dozens if not hundreds of hours total before the psychotic episode died. If that's not a bludgeoning sacrifice of an equine carcass, I don't know what is. You think a few wacky postings on a public message board is such a horrible thing? Put it into perspective.

Oh and ya know what MJ? If you only knew how much I haven't been posting, since my therapy started kicking in better, I think you would be amazed.
(The above said with a hearty smile.)

Ya know MJ, I just had a thought. You told me that "This aspect of things getting inside your head and not getting out is something everyone experiences." I honestly didn't know that. I thought it was unique to me.
This was the single, lowest-grade psychotic episode I've ever had. I had several psychotic episodes whilst typing replies to people. This was also a large part of the reason why I kept repeating myself. That's how your mind is working. (Too much to explain, I'm sure)
Since everyone has this happen, that means you've all had really low-grade psychotic episodes. Maybe we aren't that different, after all.

Since I don't know the definition of "low-grade psychotic episode" I can't argue either way.
I can tell you that I sometimes get depressed about the way my best friend treated me in college thirty-mumble years ago; or even over stuff that happened in high school. We never really escape our pasts completely, and they do haunt us for the rest of our lives.
So if that's psychotic, then everyone is.

Imagine a home movie of all of you life's most embarrassing, humiliating moments flashing before you eyes, and you can't shut it off. Couple that with the worst headache you can imagine, times about 1,000. When I say it's like Brain Burn, I mean it. Any wonder it makes me scream obscenities?
This one, it was like, I wake up in the morning, my first thought was "Yes G-d D----t, I was F-ing forced into the F-ing story!!! How can they not see that?????" It was like that for years. And you think a few weird postings on a site were really so terrible.....
Oh yeah, thanks again to everyone for dealing with me on that. You could not imagine how confusing it was to me. Well, maybe you could, I don't know. It's clear now. Thanks for that.
