I'm watching Twilight. A 17 year old girl is given an old, beaten up, rust bucket of a pickup truck as a present. She's overjoyed. "Oh dad, this is perfect!! Thank you soooo much!!"
I saw an actual video of a real-life 17 year old girl's birthday. The girl was given a brand new, baby blue convertible as a birthday present. The girl was crying and whining because "Daddy, I wanted a red convertible!!!!"
I thought it interesting to note.

This was my rant!!
Heh, reminds me of my Christmas this year. I got socks, underwear, 4 shirts, and a scarf. You know what I really wanted? New pants.
I got all kinds of pajama pants, you want to trade?
This is why I always ask for Old Navy giftcards, so nobody is ever in the position of having to guess what I want or need. Then I can show up two months later wearing something spiffy and be like "you bought me /this/ for Christmas. Thank you."
I doubt we're the same size, John; but thanks :)
Yeah, I used to hate getting clothes for Christmas when I was a kid. Now, I ask for them. I practically got a whole new wardrobe this year. Of course, my wardrobe mostly consists of pajama pants and t-shirts.
