Ah, but he's supposed to start as himself, and while there might be a trigger-happy card-carrying NRA redneck version of him somewhere in the Multiverse, that's not who he is now.
On the other hand, it's not impossible that his adventures between now and then will introduce him to the use of such weapons.
As far as the number of worlds you can run, John, I'm sure you watch television. Every show is a world you could run, if you put your mind to it and use a bit of your free time to work out how that world would be adapted. Most of them I would do on the fly--figure out the biases as you go. They're not usually that difficult. Sometimes the ones with psychics are, because you have to give thought to exactly what the psychic is able to do and how he does it.

Well, Jhiaxus, I could try that, if you were serious, but I'd have to have Sunday off to recuperate. I have to say that my mind reels a bit at the thought of doing eight posts per day. But it is kinda the direction I need to go, so I'm willing to give it a try and see how it works.
And John, there's like a hundred worlds posted on the GO websites courtesy of the many helpers and moi. I'll be glad to give you advice on one of my world if you need it to flesh out a detail or other, or we can bug MJ or Wodium if its something I can't handle.
It was a semi serious point, but yes, I can spend 20 a week on nothing (I can spend 20 dollars a day for about nothing too sad as that is), and to me to support someone else that's taking time out of their day, trying to make a living, it's a price I'd be willing to pay. Sure it means I shop at the store instead of fast food, which I am doing more of anyway. Point is, I believe if you have the ability, support your chosen hobby.
I have gotten rid of cable, I use Hulu for my TV watching, and use redbox for movies. I stopped buying a video game a week for 50 a shot, ((I only buy maybe 6 a year now, or quality titles, I know I will like)), so for the value, it's there.
About Sunday, well if the Lord took a day off, the GM should too :P

Actually no, I don't. I watch DVDs. I get television shows on DVD, but I don't watch broadcast TV. No fun if you don't have a pause and rewind button.

Thank you very much indeed. Touches my heart. But I'd already had second thoughts. The problem is that I'm already feeling a bit toasty (a prelude to being burnt out). I've finally gotten my ladyfaire to play RPG's, and now I have to talk myself into getting enthused to run one (its partially because its someone else's game, but it might be the toastiness too.)
I expect that six months from now, I'll be taking another sabbatical mostly, and doing the 8/day would just radically speed that up, and probably decrease teh quality at the same time.
Still wow. Thanks, man, but let's keep stumbling along on the current system.

I watch tv sometimes. I can pause it and rewind it. =p Ah, the magic of DVR. Of course, I don't think anyone here would like to be run in Iron Chef Multiverse (though I could certainly make a gladiator-esque form that roped you in and didn't let you go; what to do about the character who decides he wants to kill everyone instead of cooking; well, I can give the chairman 3@ stats and high expert martial arts that he only uses if provoked, maybe make it a group of chairmen for the tougher versers; I've derailed my train of thought), and getting someone into House, M. D. or Law and Order would be considerably difficult (though Law and Order, Monk, Matlock, Murder She Wrote, Columbo, and other shows of that nature do sometimes have some good fodder for Why Spy). Most children's shows are right out, though it might be fun (for me) to verse someone into Phineas and Ferb. Versing into Dr. Oz or Dr. Phil would be absolutely as ridiculous as the show. Somehow, I could see John 2 running a Beavis and Butthead world, but maybe that's because Bill S. Preston and Theodore Logan (I think that was his name) always reminded me "real-life" versions of those two. My fiancee often watches America's Next Top Model, I think I'll send Eli there next. (Just Kidding.)
Have the verser arrive in a small Maine town, and have Jessica Fletcher get in some trouble as she tracks down the latest murderer, and the gallant verser rescues the old lady detective. She ends up catching the murderer, and then goes to visit the verser.
"I know what you are. Some type of other dimensional human." She lays out her logic as to why. "I'd like to welcome you to Maine. And btw, a friend of mine is wanting to move to Florida, and would like to sell her crab shack restauraunt...."
After that, the verser lives a quiet life as an owner of a crab shack, trains in the backyard with his martial arts, and helps on occasion the kindly but nosy Mrs. Fletcher solve her crimes (which are a bit more violent than the show because that allows the verser to chase the revealed bad guy along the cliffs and stuff.)
It could be quirky and amusing.
Could be, yes, but I'd rather do Miss Marple than Jessica Fletcher. I always found her mysteries more engrossing.
I have read very little of Agatha Christie which I feel sorta ashamed about.
Well, maybe you'll find an opportunity on your next sabbatical; they can be a little dry at times, but most excellent works of literature do share that quality in my experience.

This is definitely a boost to my otherwise bruised ego. Mr. Ashley is ahead of me hands down on so many genres of literature, but I have read so many Agatha Christie mysteries that it's difficult for me to find ones I have not read (although I do not remember them all entirely). I've also read a few Ellis Peters (I think that's the guy), many Arthur Conan Doyle (I've started the Complete Holmes several times, but never finished it before someone absconded with it), and a few others.
So my lack of familiarity with sci fi and fantasy seems less burdensome to me now.
I'm still working on that, though.

How about coming up with the rules for a general 'quirky investigator' world? Not just a small Maine town, or a small English village....but the sort of world in which Miss Marple and Jessica Fletcher both live, and so does Nancy Drew and the guys from Pschy.
It would be a world with a high number of murders, and probably a very by the book police culture that spread across most of the world to keep the police from solving these murders.
