"Whoops! I hate it when that happens, don't you, Juan? Juan? Oh for Christ's sake, you getting blood all over my clean cell block!"

I'll beat him with his own arm. "Didn't your mother tell you NOT to play with shivs?"

I'll throw his bloody arm on top of him.

OOC: Yes, I believe I'm the first verser to rip off someone's arm and beat them with the bloody stump.

You throw his bloody arm on top of him at the same time as twenty to thirty corrections officers rush into the room. A couple are carrying an ice chest, which they throw the arm in. Ten of them are getting the body and carrying him out of the room.

The remaining seventeen are coming at you with nightsticks.

"Hold up, gentlemen. That piece of trash tried to shiv me." I'll point to the shiv. "You'll find his prints all over it."

I'll slowly crack my neck.

"But if anyone of you touches me, you'll need a friend to help anytime you want to clap, just like ole Juan."

They see the shiv on the ground, and apparently it's enough time to reconsider their actions; whether the reconsideration is caused by self-preservation or worry of legal ramification is unclear, but they simply tell you that you're being confined to solitaire again.

"I will not be confined for defending myself. Perhaps the warden and I should speak before there is any more unnecessary violence."

"We need to confine everyone involved after any physical altercation breaks out. It's standard procedure. We'll let the warden know you want to talk to him when he gets in today."

"Very well, gentlemen. I will allow you to escort me to solitaire. I will need one moment be fore we go."

I will go to Fug. "Douglas. Message time again. Tell them it's now 25%. If they refuse my generous offer this time, everyone dies when I get out of solitaire. Got it? I will not forget you services to me, Douglas."

Doug is freaked when you tell him everyone dies. He tells you that he'll pass the message along.

You're escorted to solitaire; it's much more comfortable than your cell. Hardly a punishment.

At six in the evening, the warden comes by himself to speak with you. He looks as if he's middle eastern, but speaks with an American accent.

"I got your message. Sorry to hear about what happened to you this morning; it's all on camera, and the evidence is all bagged. Are you going to press charges?"

"Good evening, warden. Since we haven't been properly introduced, allow me. My name is Pharaoh. It's my pleasure to meet you. And no, I will not be pressing charges. I think Mr. Juan's arm was a sufficient price to pay. And please believe me, his arm coming off was unintentional. I believe we might be of benefit to each other, and would like to meet in your office tomorrow afternoon to discuss this matter. If you have the time that is. Now, if I've been cleared, may I return to my cell block?"

"I've been looking through your file; it's not what I'd call extensive, but I don't want you to develop a track record for violent tendencies because of circumstances outside of your control. Any idea why Juan was trying to shank you?"

"I have no idea who he was or why he so foolishly try to knife me. I think we should talk tomorrow and you hear my proposition that might ensure violence control, making your and the guards job easier and more pleasant. Now, once more, may I return to my cell block?"

He responds to you, "I'd feel more comfortable if you stayed here until tomorrow morning, so we can investigate why he was trying to attack you. Just look at it as a little vacation."

"I am already on a 60 year vacation, but I will remain here until tomorrow after my breakfast. After that, I will consider it unlawful detainment. And so will my attorney. Have a pleasant evening, warden."

That night, you receive no payment.

Early the next morning, before breakfast, you're taken back to population.

*Sigh*

I'll find out from one of the guys in my block when Duncan's crew goes out to the yard.
I'll try and contact dawn again. If I succeed, I will tell her to wipe out Duncan's entire crew when they are in the yard. I she can't differentiate by their jailhouse tattoos, just kill everyone, except the guards.

You let her know.

The warden sends for you, and you're escorted to his office. He puts down his pen and says, "Pharaoh. Now, what was the suggestion you had?"

"Allow me access to all of the prison gangs. One thing they respect is fear. Your guards can't scare them. They aren't here 24/7. I am. If allowed to persuade them, you will find that gang on gang violence will greatly decrease. Incidents of prisoner on guard violence will decrease. This place, will settle down nicely. Of course, there will be a few incidents in the beginning, but that's to be expected. Peace is rarely without it's price. The medical department will be a tad busy in the beginning, but again, that will decrease as time goes on. Just give me the chance to talk with them, and see how it goes."

The warden sits back in his chair, rubs his temples, and answers, "I'll have to think about it. I don't want to lose my job, but you're right, it would be better if the violence would stop. I'll get back to you."

The guard enters to escort you back to your cell.

I'll go back to the block and play cards for a bit and socialize. Did I manage to reach Dawn?

The rotation starts, and Dougie asks if he can hit the blunt. The answer is no.

You did contact Dawn, yes.

In the evening this time, the rumor mill this time is less rumor and more cold hard fact; on tv there is coverage that an entire cell block of prisoners were murdered while out for recreation, in spite of the guards witnessing the entire thing. They claim it was performed by an army of men who shot only the prisoners and the officers were unfortunately not able to save any of the prisoners or stop or shoot any of the men who shot the prisoners. A terrible tragedy, according to the media coverage.

I will ask Ky if I may get a ditty, which of course he will be recompensed for.

I will tell Fug, "Douglas. Please deliver one more message for me. Tell the crews in here it's now 50% unless they too want to go and address their maker. This is the last offer before I run out of patience."

Ky, your spades partner, says to you, "Here." Under the table, he passes you a heavy bag of buds; probably an ounce or so, judging by the weight in your hand. "I told you, man; we don't bogart."

Of course Tugless (as the entire cell block calls him ever since the CO threatened to charge him with self-mutiliation) agrees to deliver your message.

"My thanks to you, Ky. I will not forget. How long will you be in for?"

Ky answers you, "Well, I've got an appeal going, so hopefully I'll be out any day. If not, I'm looking forward to a trial by fire."

Let me make a phone call and see what I can do. Be right back.

I'll go call Ringo and ask him to look into Ky's case. See if there's anything he can do with the appeal, without trial by fire.

Ringo responds to you, "I'll see what I can do, boss man. Any idea what he's in for?"

"Hold on a sec, Ringo."

I'll call Ky over to the phone and ask him what he's in for.

He says to you, "Well, alright, there was this b----, and I killed her. That much is basically proven and accepted, alright, I did that; I was out of my head, though."

" Ringo? I think you better speak with Mr. Ky." I will hand Ky the phone.

Ky has a conversation with Ringo on the phone about exactly what happened (he threw his boss down a steel flight of steps onto a cement floor because he had had more than enough of her), and finally gives the phone back to you.

Ringo tells you, "Well, I'll see what I can do. I'll have to do some digging into the case, since it's an appeal. Call me if anything else comes up, boss man."

"Thanks, Ringo. I can always count on you."

To Ky, "He's going to look into it. If anyone can help you, it's him."

Guess I'll wait and see what happens next. Back to cards for now.

A guard comes and tells you that the warden would like to see you. You're escorted to his office.

He seems frustrated, and he asks you, "How do you think it makes me look when an entire cell block full of prisoners dies?"

"Like you have a ton of paperwork to do? Obviously it wasn't me as my whereabouts during the incident can be accounted for."

He pauses a moment. "The officers intercepted two messages from a Douglas Formage in the same block as you, so I think I know what's going on, Pharaoh. Out on the street this kind of thing may be business as usual for you, I don't know; but I can't have you ordering hits on all the prisoners on my watch. They were already talking about shutting this place down in favor of a higher security detention center; this is just going to be more ammo for them to use."

"Well then, you handle the politicians, and let me handle the inmates. This will all end I assure you. Once they see how docile this place becomes, you'll shine like a diamond in their eyes."

The warden sighs, then responds to you, "I hope you're right about this, Pharaoh. I have a wife at home and my first son will be born in three months." He bids you return to population with a guard.

"I'll do everything in my power to keep my word to you, warden."

I'll go back to the block. It's time to chat with Douglas. I'll roll up on him in a quiet corner and say in a low hissing voice: "Your messages were intercepted, Douglas. Your carelessness almost ruined my plans. Knowing that I can have an entire cell block eradicated, do you think I won't erase you as well? Make no mistake Douglas, if you disappoint me again, the thing left of you will be a greasy smear on the block floor. I hope we are clear on this matter, as this is the last time we will have this conversation. I suggest you keep a low profile for now."

I'll roughly tuck a small bud into his shirt pocket and go see if I can join a card game and wait to see if the others have gotten the message that paying up is the wisest choice.

Doug wets himself as his heart begins to race and his pupils widen. He insists that he didn't know that anyone overheard and says someone must have snitched.

You get in on a card game. No money comes to you tonight.

I'll send word to the warden requesting another meeting and that it's very important to what we discussed.

The guard lets you know that the warden has left for the night and is off tomorrow, but tells you he'll leave a note for him.
