((Flexibility check 25, Still at the stage you are at))
*You are laying on a hard surface, and you feel water splashed on you, and a noise of something going by you fast*
((Would you want Darla to come along?))
Continued from: http://gamingoutpost.com/discussions/topic/kyler-kareer/page/5
Of course. From a character perspective I would love to have her along.
I'll climb to my feet and instinctively check on Cass.
((The rolls say she comes))
*Cass is not in sight, what you see is a pretty much a modern day city street, it's nighttime, familiar cars zip bye, signs are in english, and you see people walking around.*
Well, English is good; Cass missing isn't. Feel for my scriff sense.
*You feel two sciff senses off to your east*
Guess I'm going "east." Gather up any gear that may be here and bring it along.
*You head through the maze of city streets, it's hot and humid here, the locals seem, latin in nature, not all but enough to make you think it is a latin dominated city, of course there are signs in Spanish and English, but you definitely catch the sight of a Florida licence plate. You dodge some obvious gang members on your way east ward.*
"Yo holmes" *you hear as you pass a group of three of them*
I'll continue onward and away from them toward the scriff sense.
I've still got Hermes' shoes, right? I'll have to return them to him someday.
((Yes you do, I don't think he minds, or that version anyway))
*You sense them getting closer behind you agitated*
"Yo white boy, you are in the wrong neighborhood, brady bunch is that way."
*They are closing*
I turn around and adopt my posturing skill I probably never learned in the Batman world. "Are you dumb ()s talking to me?"
*The lead one smiles*
"I'll cut you esse." *starts doing some butterfly work, pretty impressive*
"Unless you want to spend the rest of your life drinking through a straw, you should probably run."
Getting in style, Ku Fung, muscle blocking, steal initiative, I believe I know a disarm technique.
((Persuasion 19, success, Willpower 19, fail))
*He looks at his buddies*
"We'll get you white boy when we get the rest of the posse."
"What, three girls on one guy not good enough odds for you ()s?"
*They ignore you and leave, if you keep heckling them, they will open up the trunk of their Geo Metro and bring out the hardware.*
*I assume you are going to follow the scriff sense till you find it, you walk up to a strip club named The Purple Flamingo, the signs are inside.*
Perfect. A strip club.
Note this moment, it's the first time any divergent of me has ever gone in a strip club.
NOT.
I'll walk around the outside to determine that this is where the sense is coming from, and lean against the outside of the building and wait for the sense to move.
*You walk around the club and you sense the two senses in there, hard to tell, since often they are almost on top of each other, but they are moving.*
Yeah, I'm waiting for either closing time or for them to move outside.
My assumption is that it's Cass and another verser.
*Two hours later, the place looks to be winding down, and you see two familiar ladies walking out of the club*
*Darla winks to you*
"Missed quite a show."
*Cass beams*
"We got cash handled, figured it would be the first order of business."
"Yeah, I figured it was something like that. Generally you get more money if they think you haven't got a boyfriend. What'd they think of the tail?
"I met a couple guys who wanted to gank me on the way over. They decided to leave me alone, but I expect I'll be seeing more of them.
"Any idea what we should do now? Maybe see how much it'll take to rent an apartment?"
*Cass grins*
*I found a leather button down vest, I opened it up, and my tail was covered.*
*Darla rolls her eyes*
"I covered it up with my body when Cass was too occupied."
*They count the money in the bag as they walk*
"We got about 3500, we have more than enough to rent a place, but that will wait till morning I believe."
*Darla looks around*
"I'd rather stay up the night, maybe find a diner for some food, and grab an apt book from the stands they usually have there, so we know what we want when it's daylight."
"Sounds good to me; preferably a diner without a bar, because bars draw those seedy types we don't need to mess with right now."
*They agree, finding a 24 hour diner in a City like Miami ((they inform you)), isn't hard, and you are all ordering food, a lot of food. It has been awhile for all of you to have normal food, and in terms of Cass, never having modern favorites like Cheeseburgers and Fries, and shakes. You spend a good 50 dollars on food, to get whatever you want, and a never ending cup of coffee, Darla is tipping 20 just on gp for how long you guys are there for.*
Not a coffee drinker, but soda is lovely. I haven't got any lactose pills, so I order accordingly.
*Darla inquires about the noticeable lack of Dairy*
"You know, in the 24th century that's just a hypospray away from being fixed."
"That'd be nice if I ever found myself in the twenty fourth century." I grin.
*She points at her medical kit*
"In fact I could also put in some 24th century booster shots in with it. I have enough here for hundreds probably thousands of different shots. I was a battlefield medic during the Dominian War."
"I'd love to do away with my intolerance; it'd also be great to get some vaccinations. Think it'll work here?"
*she shrugs*
"Most of their equipment usually worked in past time lines. Worth a shot, literally.
*she opens the kit, and mixes a bit of some vials together and puts it in the hypospray, she uses water to fill the rest*
"Gotta love technology, mostly water."
I ask, "Deep muscle tissue, right?" I expose my tricep.
I hope nobody thinks we're doing drugs.
*It's a 24 hour diner, it's before the morning rush, you are lucky to see a waitress every half an hour, she pressed it against it and you have it injected. I am going to say 500 years of medical advances get your resistance up to a 2@5, as well as some normal gene treatments so that you are no longer lactose intolerant or have any other treatable preventable diseases, disorders or conditions. Cass gets one too*
"Thanks. Would've been nice to have gotten that before the spiders, but oh well; at least I don't have to pretend like I'm a helpless girl anymore." Order a milkshake and a buffalo chicken cheesesteak with extra bleu cheese.
*You order, you have them. They don't do a chicken cheesesteak like home, but it's good enough, the shake is very tasty.*
*Darla smiles*
"Well I try to keep technology usage to a minimum on a non earth world of a less technological bent. I don't want a phaser exploding. Speaking of which, apartment, period clothing, replacing and getting things for our packs. We should plan as this is a rest stop, requip and then worry about what this world is about."
*It is about this time, as 5 or 6 rice burner cars in various colors and pain styles pull in, the drivers, wearing leathers, mini skirts, and other young punk wear, 4 men and 2 women come in and take up two booths*
Sounds good. I'm unconcerned. I would like to get some gear while I'm here, if Cass is willing to give me some of her ill-earned cash that she's probably intending to spend on more shoes than we can possibly bring.
*They order their food and are chatting them up*
*Cass takes offense*
"It is not ill earned, men gave their money to see us dance, I'm just making a living not giving them much for it. I do like shoes, but not as much as weapons."
*Cass is looking over at the other group*
"Now if your talking ill earned cash, you should read their minds."
"Sorry, those thoughts were more or less not meant for you. Money would be good, though. I'm thinking of going for a new look."
*Yes Cass reads minds constantly, it's her thing*
*Less annoyed but says it loud for her amusement*
"Ok you take 500 but you better keep me satisfied."
*She grins*
I say loudly, "Well, I usually charge a thousand, but you're hot, so I'll make an exception."
*Cass says just as loud*
"Throw her in and I'll give you another 250."
*The Men and Women at the other table are giving you their full attention.*
"... deal." Ignoring them.
