You all drive back to the school. It's quiet outside.
You're preparing to go outside, and Stojan interrupts, looking at the monitor. You see it as well.
A lone bird of prey, black as night, seated on the roof, watching.
"Well they know we are here...
Shoot the bird, I don't like how it is solid black."
As soon as Stojan opens the door, the bird breaks into a dive for him. He begins shooting, once, twice, three times, and Ashley pulls the door shut just in time for the bird to slam into it.
Where is the bird now?
If it is close enough, I will try to hit it with my sword.
The bird is outside of the van. The three of you are inside of it. Because of its proximity, you can't see it on the screen. You don't know if Stojan was able to hit it with any of his shots or if it died after crashing into the door of the van. Right now, it's silent.
Stojan suggests that you three should drive away a bit to try to get a better look.
"Ok, let's do that."
You drive away from the bird. You see it on the camera, standing on the ground; it flies up and lands on the roof of the van.
Stojan looks to you for ideas.
Ashley says, "Shoot it through the roof!"
Stojan responds to her, "Are you crazy? This thing is armored. A bullet fired at the roof or walls in here could turn us all into swiss cheese."

I responded to your game thread running me but it didn't register on the main page.
"Shojan, do a tight doughnut.
It has nothing to hold on to up there and we can just run over it on the next pass.

Stojan nods to you, and starts driving straight, and quickly does a sharp ninety degree turn.
The camera picks up the bird flying from the roof of the van and beginning to take flight after you.
"What now," Stojan asks you.
I grab my sawed off shotgun and load two shells of buckshot.
I get into the front passinger seat and roll the window down enough for me to fire out, but not enough for the bird to get in.
"On my signal turn me toward the bird...
Now."
I'm firing one shell at the bird.
I haven't fired a sawed off shotgun before.

"Close the window," Stojan tells you. "Check that it's loaded properly and that nothing is interfering with the connections. Could be a dud bullet."

I go and grab me doule barral pump-action shotgun, load it withh a few buckshot shells and try with it.
You grab and load a double-barreled shotgun.

Blam! You hit the bird, and the force of the shot carries it off away from the vehicle. As Stojan is driving, the creature is now behind and you are leaving it there quickly.
"Ok, let's turn around and run over it to make sure it is dead. And go back to the school."
Stojan turns it around.
You don't see the bird anywhere.
"That's odd... Where did it disappear to? Let's go back to the school."

You arrive back at the school. Nothing seems to be here outside, so the three of you leae the van cautiously. Stojan checks the roof of the van and doesn't see the bird, so the three of you caustiously move inside.
You make it to the shelter, and when you enter, you hear the sound of movement. Stojan cocks his gun quietly. There aren't any bodies here; not even a stain to show the carnage that took place just last night.
You press deeper in, towards Dr. A's computer, and you see an old, wizened, balding caucasion man here. He looks up, startled by your approach, and asks, "What, who?" He's looking at your bunch through a pair of spectacles thick enough that it looks like he could see the backside of the moon.
Just a note, I would have my sword out and be in style before I went into the school.
"We're here to recover the data on Dr. A computer. Who are you?"
"I apologize; how rude of me. I am Edwin Bradford, a genetics professor at the community college. I came here to the fallout shelter, and found all this information about the disease here. Who are you?"
"Eli Bumbalough. How did you get in here without the ghouls attaching you?"
He looks confused. "Ghouls? I don't know what you're talking about."
"The individuals currently infected with the disease...Did you walk here or do you have a vehicle?"
How big is Dr. A's computer?
"No, I walked here this morning."
Big in what sense? In a spatial sense, it's a tower computer with several drives in it, a monitor, and a keyboard; you probably wouldn't be able to carry every component at the same time easily, if that's what you're asking.
"Professor Bradford, Do you want to study the information about the disease?"

The professor is quite advanced in age and appears very frail.
Stojan introduces himself as Stojan Drangov, and Ashley herself as Ashley Zediker.
"Zediker?" The professor scratches his chin, appearing in deep thought. "Are you related to Zane Zediker of Hardcorp?"
"You knew my father?" Ashley seems suprised and hopeful.
"Knew of," Bradford responds. "His was an important name in modern genetics."
You could probably manage everything in one trip, but everyone would have to chip in, and if you were ambushed on the return trip, no one would have a free hand to fight.
"Will you come with us?"
Do I see my hard drive?
Yes, your hard drive is present.
"Certainly," Bradford answers. "The two of you seem to be combatants, so accompanying you certainly seems a better course than I've followed thus far."
"Professor Bradford, would you grab that", I point to my hard drive,"portable hard drive and its associated cables?"
I sheath my sword, walk over to Dr. A's computer and remove all the cables from the tower.
I pick up the tower and say "Let's get out of here."
