Is there a path from the balcony to the first floor? Is it clear of the "zombies"?
If so, I run down the path

else

I jump off the balcony and attempt to roll with the fall.

Are you trying to create a new skill, or just hoping you don't hurt yourself, or is this something you have done?

I'm trying to make a new skill.

The roll is 25, you're close enough that I don't have to worry much about the numbers, you've got a 1@1 Fall impact avoidance roll. You sprng to your feet and keep running; you hear bodies hitting the foor behind you.

(Let the bodies hit the floor..)

You run through the front door of the church; the others are right behind you, chasing you.

Are you running anywhere in particular, or just running and hoping?

Running and hoping for now.

How many are behind me?

Annnnd one for you...

§

It is The Mob chasing you; glancing over your shoulder you can't get a good count.

The side of an automobile, a red convertible, stops right in front of you. The man in the driver's seat fires a shot over your shoulder, narrowly missing you, and yells, "Get in!"

abren sus libros a pagina dos por favor

I do as he says.

You climb in and sit on the leather seat, and his tires squeal as he presses the gas, and you experience a sharp jerk as he whips the car around and drives away from the throng.

He's speeding down the roadway, and yells more at you than to you over the wind, "What in the world are you doing outside at night?! Those things will kill you, or worse!"

"I just got up with amnesia. What's going on? And, what are those things?"

He doesn't answer you right away; he continues speeding in the night. You see other people whiz by, apparently trying to come for the car, but not moving quickly enough.

He presses the button on a small, one-button device, and then pulls too quickly into a garage, stops too short, glances around quickly, then pushes the button again. The garage door starts to close, and he watches it closely to make sure there are no unexpected guests. Once it has closed all the way, the lights turn out and it becomes black as pitch.

After a few moments of darkness and silence, he sparks a lighter. In the flash of too bright light, you get a closer look at his features than your adrenaline previously allowed.

He is pale skinned, with bright blue eyes and a shaven head that looks to have a day or two's stubble on it. His chiseled, masculine face also has a visible shadow. His bright blue eyes reflect the light of the blame as he lights the cigarette in his mouth. He is wearing a leather jacket, open, with a kevlar vest underneath. The flame goes out.

He speaks; he sounds to have a slight accent, perhaps macedonian. "They're the walking dead, man. It happened so suddenly, a week ago; people started killing each other, and every time they killed, there were more of them. Those people you saw were still in the first stage, by the look of them. After they've been that way for some time, they get stronger; some of them don't even mind the sun." He drags on his cigarette again, coughs, and puts it out still long.

"My wife and daughter joined them two days ago; I couldn't protect them. I was out for gas, and on my way back, I saw you running, and saw you weren't one of them.

"I don't know if there's anyone else alive anywhere.

"My name is Stojan."

He reaches out to shake your hand.

I shake his hand.
"My name is Eli. Can you explain their stages to me?"

"No. Not that I won't, but I can't; I don't really know that much about them. I can tell you that after they look sickly, they grow muscular; and after that, their skins get dark spots, and after that it goes black everywhere; then sometimes I see them in the daytime. I blew one of their heads off with a shotgun, but it still kept coming at me.

"They are very intelligent; it only seems to get worse as the longer they stay that way. I used to be in the American special forces, but these guys seem like they all think with the same mind; they don't gesture to each other or talk, but they all break into strategies without any planning."

"That's not good, and they have a hive-mind...
Do you know of any army bases around here?"

"That's not good, and they have a hive-mind...
Do you know of any army bases around here?"

Stojan responds, "Well, there's a Fort Jonathan not far from here, but it's probably been looted already. When it happened, people went crazy trying to get arms and ammunition; if we could have united and stood against the threat, we might have had a chance, but now it's too late to think of that. The best we can do is sleep tonight and pray to God they don't find us here. The garage door is solid, but it won't keep them all out if they come; the doors and windows are blocked and barricaded, so the garage door is their best bet to get in. That's why I stay the night in here; best chance of getting away if there's a suprise."

"I would like to head there tomorrow...
How many shots did it take to kill that black one?

Let's get some sleep. I'll take first watch."

I'm going to check the vectors to see how many pieces of equipment stayed with me.

Did Honda have a finished zanba-to at his house?
if yes, I'm trying to claim it as mine.
if no, I'm taking my practice zanba-to.

I'm also claiming the smithing tools and 10 katana's.

Much of what the smithing tools at the forge encompassed were beyond your weight limit.

There was the hammer, a pair of long tongs, a large oven that was constantly stocked with wood, an area filled with water and one filled with sand.

All of the finished weaponry at your master's abode was sold during your last trip into town.

"I had to blow his head and one of his arms off and dislocate his other arm. He didn't stop but that's when I ran away."

The night passes slowly; staying awake in the pitch dark is the easy part. It's falling asleep that's the trouble.

The sun rises, and light starts to filter in through the windows. You are awake; you aren't sure if you slept at all, but you still feel wired.

"To the base, then, "Stojan says, opens the garage door, and pulls out. He watches to make sure no one goes in, and closes the door again.

He speeds to the army base and stops outside the collapsed chain-link fence. It has all the look as if there was a battle here, with no bodies.

Are there any tanks or APC's visible?

If no, "Where do they keep the tanks and APC's?"

"Where is the armory?"

"Have you ever seen those things use tools?"

There are not any tanks visible; there are 3 APCs visible. In response to your former questions, Stojan responds with a shrug, "It's my first time coming here too."

He hasn't ever seen them use tools, no.

I get out of the car and check one of the APC's driver areas.
Does it have an obvious starter system?
How similar are the controls to a car?

I'm looking allover the APC.
Does it have anyplace where the ghouls(it's the closest thing that I can call them)
can pull to cause enough damage to stop the APC?

In response to question one, the controls look intuitive enough that you probably wouldn't have too much trouble learning to work it.

As for the ghouls being able to stop it, the ones you fought didn't seem strong enough to stop a moving vehicle. It would take a great deal of strength to accomplish a task like that.

If it were stationary, it would only be a matter of time, were they strong enough to rip it apart piece by piece.

Does it have a slot for a key or does it start with the push of a button?
If it has a slot for the key, Is the key in that slot?

I'm looking for the fuel cap.
Does it have an icon that tells what kind of fuel it takes?

What weapons does it have on it?

I head back to Stojan's car.
"I came here to grab a APC, some automatic weapons and ammo.
I'm going to look for the armory, you're the getaway car if I wake up another horde."

It has a slot for a key; the key is not present.

There are two machine guns that are bolted to mobile fixtures inside the vehicle; they seem to be of a relatively high calibur, but they do not appear to be loaded.

It appears to run on gasoline.

"Alright, man; just make sure you're back *before sundown*. I put my life on the line for you one time already."

I'm searching the base until about an hour before sundown.
I'm trying to find the keys to the APC, Ammo, guns, and other useful items.
I going around cautiously with my sword drawn.

No keys, but you find several firearms and quite a bit of ammunition. Rifles, handguns, shotguns, automatic weapons.

I motion for Stojan to drive his car over to where most of the guns and ammo are.
"Welcome to the gun show! ammunition and guns are free!"
I'm picking up a copy of whatever gun Stojan picks.
Are there any semi-auto shotguns?
I'm also putting as much appropriate ammunition as I can in the back seat and trunk.

Lets see if I can hotwire an APC.
If this works, I take the APC to the same spot an load it with more ammo and ammo for the heavy machine guns.

Stojan doesn't take a gun, but he does take bullets for his gun, which he throws in the trunk of his convertible; there's not a lot of space back there with all the ammo he already has for his favorite weapon, as well as the other two items.

When he opens the trunk, you're blasted in the face by the smell of decay; there are one full and one half full, two black plastic trash bags in the trunk that this seems to be emanating from. He seems to notice the stench as well, lighting a cigarette, and he shuts the trunk again once the bullets are in.

No, no semi automatic shotguns here.. sorry.

Do you have skill at hotwiring a vehicle?

doublepost

I take a rifle or a sniper rifle, a pump action shotgun(I hope they have one of these), an automatic weapon and a large caliber hand gun. I'm putting them in the back seat along with lots of ammo for them.

No, but I've read about it. Trying to do it would probably jog my memory.

There is a pump-action shotgun present, yes. It has two barrels and each can be fired indepedently of one another, and space within for 4 more shells on each side; you find several different types of shells here, as well. I'll stat your weapons when the need arises.

I'll need your tech abl, bra please.

My tech bias is 11@5 due to my Build Computer skill
My BRA is my 2@4 intuition.

I'm assuming this is a skill learning roll.

Indeed.

a 75. 24 bra 115 abl 12 wbl 11 example from reading about it no trainer/teacher -20 sitmod for technology designed specifically to prevent such attempts, trying to learn a 9@ skill, more of a... hmm... ::glances momentarily at the book:: 9@1 skill, so 162 -20 -91 41 percent chance of success, 75 is not in there by any means. I miss anything?

§

You mess with it for half an hour without getting any result with the wiring.

I have TIME on my side!(said with GRATUITOUS amounts of HAM!)
(not really but I'm going to attempt until I succeed, botch or run out of daylight.)

Need to change the circumstances somehow to try again; how do you intend to do that?

I'm trying it on a different APC.

97. Sorry.

1. Cause explosion for annihilating damage at epicenter +lethal damage rider for shrapnel
2. Drive over Stojan for fatal damage
3. Drive at full gas
4. Start vehicle, disable brakes
5. Disable vehicle
6. Play reggae music through speakers
7. Electrocute self for lethal damage
8. Cut self for damaging damage

The roll is made. Lucky day.

§

You touch two wires together, and voila!

Reggae music starts blasting out of the onboard speakers; apparently there's some sort of music player in the vehicle.

Stojan starts screaming and cursing at you to turn it off.

§

Don't you love near brushes with death?

I'm recording a GE roll of 17 here so I don't forget it. =p

Turn off the music and look to make sure it didn't attract the ghouls
If it's clear, I try hotwiring the last one.

No ghouls appear to be coming.

You try the last one, and experience another failure; you think that the military must have designed these specifically to be difficult to hotwire to make them less likely to fall into enemy hands.

Lets try the first one again.

Are there and other transport vehicles around?
