"I came from a place that doesn't exist anymore, and I am here to make sure my children learn what it is to be a ninja. Quite some time now, I've only been here for a few weeks."

"You can make that assumption if you want, why don't you start with who you are, and why you want to know about me? Or shall I find out for myself?"

"I'm an interested party. I'd like to know why, of all places, you'd choose to go to the village hidden in the leaves. You don't look like any Whirlpool village ninja I've ever seen, and this name; Keiharuki, was it? Your family must have been weak to have avoided any sort of notable involvement in any of the wars. Therefore I'm very interested in learning how you survived the utter annihilation of your people, and with children, no less."
The person who extended the invitation is not the person you are speaking with, you realize. He is an intermediary, a shell of a person; likely an attempt of the Akatsuki to garner information about you.
*grins*
"Yes me and my family are very weak, and we begged for our lives many times on the way to the Village Hidden in the Leaves. Or it could be we are just that powerful that we are not going to involve ourselves with the affairs of the Akatsuki, and we have been that powerful as to not involve ourselves in the wars. I know the Akatsuki know the meaning of power, and they won't stop poking their noses in unless they realize it is not in their best interests. Shall I give you a suitable one to make sure we are off their minds, and more importantly, off of mine?"

"If you have this power, why not use it? Don't make an enemy of the strongest; join with us, or learn what true power is."
*smiles*
"Not interested, money or power hold no interest to me. The best thing for your organization is to keep out of my way, and I will keep out of yours. I don't particular want to do anything about you guys right now, but if you keep pushing the issue, I will push back. I think our meeting is over."

Jef says to you when you appear, "Y'know. I've been thinking."
That seems to have been the end of what he was saying.

"Been thinking what, I need you to train Rid and watch the kids. I just received a threat from the Akatsuki. No we aren't getting involved other than to protect ourselves."

He answers you, "No, not about getting involved, well, sort of. I've been thinking that what our goal is here seems very similar to what David's goal was when he ostracized himself on the mountain. I've been wondering... what in the world are we doing here in plain sight in a village, when we could even make a mountain to live? The three of us would be more than fair instructors for the kids, we'd be out of the way politically...
"You do realize that Victoria is probably going to end up as a genin at the same time Naruto does, don't you?"
*Smiles*
"Hiding in plain sight, and our goal is not the same. We are only not getting involved until things play out. This world needs peace, and Naruto is necessary for this peace. Certain events can be changed, can be adjusted, but the important ones that shape his experiences, and this village, need to stay the same. I want the kids to get a sense of growing with others of their own age. I understand, but it is the journey, not the destination. In 12 years, we are going to get involved, so just need some patience."

"I think you missed my point, so let me restate it in different terms.
"A woman is about to be hit by a car. You push her out of the way, she survives, and goes on herself to inadvertantly kill someone important to the world as you would know it.
"Now, this example is more pertinent. You've got three students who are overlooked by history, trained by a no name ninja, and eventually die in the defense of their village.
"Now, instead, you have three students, recognized for their potential, trained by an outsider who is more skilled than anyone this world has to offer, and instead of dying, they grow up to be the defenders of this village.
"See the possible problem now?"
*smiles*
"You missed mine, certain events can be altered, some can't and I already set the ones that need to be set in stone in effect. My goal is to leave things alone till Naruto becomes the person he needs to be. Besides I am not David, I like the interaction."

Jef nods to you. "Alright. I'm just making sure that you know that there are consequences to interaction. Even a simple smile can have broad effects; our mere presence here is a strong one. I don't know if you've noticed, but we -- Clan Keiharuki, that is, is the talk of the town here."
*Nods*
"I know we will change certain things, but I enjoy being part of this. I know we are the talk of the town, and that might be what should happen. If it keeps the Akatsuki interested in us, and not the village at large, so be it."

The evening comes, and you and Tan allow the genin to leave for the night. Tan puts her arm around Akimitsu and ruffles her hair, telling her, "You should be proud. Your training is coming along great."
*Looks a bit shocked*

"I don't think she ever gave me a compliment during training."
*grins*
Akimitsu is blushing, and Tan says to you, "It wouldn't have made a difference if I did in your training, but she needs the encouragement."
*smiles*
"It was a joke hun, and she is doing very, very well. Tan just surprises me sometimes."

Judging by the way that Tan checks everyone in the house, you can tell she feels the same way.
Jef, on the other hand, still sits idly by, appearing either unaware or unconcerned of any trouble.
