*She sighs*
"Great, you realize you are going to need to throw a bone to your guys, they look up to you."
*The admiral is not in his office, any idea where to go now, or are you going to do something else to find out?*
I'll ask a few other people to see if they know where he is. If they do, I'll take their word for it.
If not, I'll try to locate his mind, and connect to it as if reading his mind but not searching for his thoughts, instead, looking through his eyes momentarily; hopefully this will give me some idea of where he is.
*You ask some female naval officer, she checks you out*
"He's on the bridge, so when do you get off Lt?"
"Usually at night, but I'm not picky," I say with a grin and a wink as I head off toward the bridge.
If I don't know the way and there are no signs, I'll ask someone else for directions.
*She looks at you in confusion as she doesn't understand what you twisted her words into.*
*You follow the signs, he is there, in the middle of giving a briefing to his bridge crew, going to interrupt, or going to wait till it is over, or do something else?*
She'll probably get it eventually, later on, if she thinks about it. Maybe we'll meet again and she can make another pass.
§
I salute the Admiral in his vision without interrupting him. I figure he'll know that I've got a message, and I know that it's not my place to interrupt vocally. I'll stand at attention and await orders.
*Muhahahahah*
================
*The admiral finishes his meeting, and once the naval officer's are dismissed, he walks over to you and salutes you*
"Yes Lt?"
"The Colonel requests another cargo bay, sir. He claims we have too many weapons to mobilize our forces in a timely fashion with the current storage space."
*He stops, considers and pulls up a map and hands you a pad*
"Request granted, give him cargo bay 5, organize some marines to take out the supplies there, and you and your crew get them organized into cargo bay 20, it will be a tight fit but with organization skills, it will work out."
"Dismissed"
*he hands you the thumbprint pad*
*Cass is waiting outside, having to deflect the hitting on attempts by two airmen, saying things like she is not wearing a ring, and she makes the one want to jump into the marines.*
I walk up to her and wrap an arm around her middle, kissing her ear, and I say to her quietly, but loud enough for them to hear, "Is this rabble chafing your style, hun? Anyway, we've got something to do, if you aren't busy." Start drawing her away back in the direction of where I left the Colonel last.
*She smiles a bit, and decides to play*
"Well it isn't their fault really, I don't have a property of Arz on me, or a ring for my finger."
*she lifts up her hands, she has two on her middle fingers, but none on her ring one*
"So it really wasn't their fault."
*As she gets pulled away, she waves at them*
"Would you like a ring, dear? I wouldn't want to tie you down if you didn't want to be."
Heading towards where I left the Colonel.
*She gives you the look, you know the one*
"You know the woman is not suppose to ask the man for a ring. I might have been a demon, but I know how those things work young man."
*The Colonel is in cargo bay 11, and you walk up to him, salute him and give him the thumbprint pad, and he looks it up and down*
*He Salutes you*
"Well I didn't expect him to just give one up, but I also see him requesting men to move things from it. I am not going to look a gift horse in the mouth. Lt, you organize a team to get it done, I will trust the details in your capable hands."
I will go about the task of gathering my men (and women) so we can all move the stuff out. Gather more if I need them.
*You don't need any more, you get your men geared up in power armor, and look at the cargo bay to be organized, and you figure, you will need to completely organize in here before you can move the things from the one cargo bay, to move into that one. It is a good thing you like cleaning and organizing, and soon, you are directing people to move things, and sort them. The whole process takes 12 hours, to sort this one, and move the things into this one, to leave the one cargo bay open. You are physically tired.*
Go to my quarters?
Alert Rest.
I think I know how to do that.
If not, just sleep.
*You do not in fact know how to do that, you can try to learn it yourself, Cass does not have it either, to train you, so would you like me to roll?*
Alright. Well, I'm going for the example from reading about meditation skill from AD&D, and going for it.
((First time I really had to crunch numbers yet, Die roll 63, chance of success not nearly that high))
*You fall asleep, you wake up in the morning in a tail death grip, around your arms and upper torso, Cass is asleep on her stomach on the right side of you.*
Try to squirm over and cuddle with her.
*It's hard you find it's 4 feet of supernatural muscle, but you finally work it enough to cuddle with her and she comes too and relaxes the death grip*
*She grins and blushes*
"Sorry, I call that morning tail, it's automated response. Only thing about a job, is that you have to get up in the morning to do it, and you have a rigid schedule."
I nod to her reluctantly. "You're right, of course. We'd better get to it."
Get up, clean up, eat up, and pick up where we left off yesterday.
*She groans and gets out of bed and stumbles into the shower with you, she is not a morning person, but you do enjoy your cleaning*
*You eat, and you got the hardwork done, basically it's up to you to let both the Colonel and Admiral know everything is ready, and get the techs to help move the equipment. Which order do you wish to tell them?*
Tell the Colonel first, as he's first in the chain of command, then inform the Admiral.
*You get stopped in the hall by a Navy Captain*
"I got word you were hitting on my girl in the hallway yesterday."
"Before we discuss your blatant disrespect of the English language, let me assure you that you've got it backwards. Your mother came on to me, and I have no interest in her."
Ready to style up, "Hee Cupp", aka Untouchable, and added defenses.
*Cass taps you on the shoulder*
"Yeah there is a gaggle of them."
*There are about 7 others in the general vicinity, knowing this was a likely outcome, any changes to your actions or what you say?*
I'm not worried, no.
*He gives the nod, and you see sacks being produced*
"We have ways to give uppity new guys a warm welcome."
*He gets into a boxing like style*
*You get the feeling he is the distraction*
Alright, so there's no confusion, my bra is 2@3, my bias is 7@9, I'm using the following skills that I looked up from my sheet.
2@9 Untouchable, -20 sm to enemy attacks, -40 damage mod to enemy attacks, -20 damage mod to my attacks, 29+23+14=66%
2@10 Panoramic Awareness, 30+23+14=67%
2@7 Muscle Blocking (?), 27+23+14=64%
3@10 Weaving (-10 sm to enemy attacks on success), 40+23+14=77%
3@10 Attack Analysis (-5 sm to enemy attacks on success), 40+23+14=77%
3@10 Avoid Martial Attacks (RS=SM penalty to enemy attacks, only one of these that is rerolled every round even if successful), 40+23+14=77%
and my action using an attack for the round will be
3@10 Barehanded Parrying (RS=SM penalty to enemy attacks) 40+23+14=77%
As an aside, I see Alert Rest on Cass's sheet and her bias matches it. It's fine if she doesn't want me to know that though.
If you determine that I do in fact know Alert Rest, just +6 to each of the equation here. If not, ok.
((You both have it, one wouldn't have it without another.))
*You get into style, Panoramic Awareness fails even with bonus from Alert Rest Bias, same with Muscle Blocking and Weaving ((80,95,96)) attack analysis works, but 77 for Avoid Martial arts attacks works, so*
*Your doing your thing, you don't see what is going on behind, and you can't avoid attacks you can't see, that's how it works. You parry the boxer in front, the ones behind come up with sacks, 2 miss, 2 hit weakly, so you now have two sacks on your head but nothing else, Cass has stepped out of the way and is doing something this round.*
To clarify, what are they doing with these sacks? Striking? Covering my face and holding me? That's #1.
#2 is that I agree, for some defenses not seeing the enemy negates some defensive bonuses, but I argue that it does not negate style bonuses. It wouldn't negate bonuses for them to hit me to not be able to see the opponent's attacks, so I don't see how not seeing the opponent it could negate bonuses but not penalties. The bonus/penalty conferred with the style is in the specialized movements, not in specific dodging of known attacks. So, I would agree that the parrying, attack analysis, and martial attack avoidance would be negated due to reliance on knowing where the attack is coming from, but I would argue that the other defenses (including my Chinese stealth suit, which confers a 95% cover bonus according to the sheet) would not be.
((They rolled a 3 and a 5, pretty much a success, that's why it was weak :P, and the sacks were meant to cover your entire upper and lower body))
Right, then. Time for drastic measures. Use the psionic possession on the guy with the boxing skill.
((Lucky, 20 to get him, his Willpower 1@10, rolls a 21))
*You have him your body goes limp the the rest shove the sacks over it and start kicking and beating your body savagely*
*Cass is pointing two sidearms at people*
"So which one of you fine gentleman want their privates shot with a rail pistol?"
*They reach for theirs, finding them to be gone, those that had them, nice to have two rounds and three limbs to steal with*
Have I still got mine? (As this guy) If not, "Cass, let me get a gun. I'll teach these guys a lesson they won't soon forget."
I intend to start shooting.
edit: I want to be clear on something. Avoid Martial Attacks is not for avoiding martial arts attacks, but for avoiding attacks done in martial confines.
((I understand))
*You still have yours in your holster, as the guy was boxing, Cass determined him pulling his to be a low threat*
*You pull your weapon, you intend to start shooting, you aim at one of his friends, and with your struggle, he pushes you out of his body ((17 Willpower roll)), you are in your body, which is beaten and hurt since there were no defenses on when you left, The guy is holding a rail pistol, and Cass two, and everyone is wondering what is going on, why he said what he said, and almost shot one of them.*
Well, looks to me like today just is not my day.
Try to get out of the bag, maybe Cass will shoot the guy with the gun and claim self-defense.
*Cass points the gun at his crotch and the other one at the others*
"Your move, try me I have no problem making all of you worthless slabs of flesh into unichs."
*She is very convincing and all the men stand down and she shoes them away*
*She unsacks you*
"And you, picking fights, shooting people in the military, did you want to spend more time in jail? Your impulsive actions and wise mouth get us in more trouble than you understand."
"I didn't pick that fight," I tell her, try for a quick stand, if no, then get to my feet. "That fight picked me."
