I count 40; slow styles should have between 20 and 30 points.
My mistake, I see now.
You teach yourself the new style.
I see a total of 30 points.
+20 Attack Damage Mod -10
+20 Attack SM, -20
+20 Defense SM +20
-40 Defense Damage Mod -20
30 - 10 - 20 + 20 -20 = 0
Yes, I edited.
Does Jed have any books in his house?
What about a computer?
Does he have any thing else that is interesting?
No computer or books; he does have a shiny red ball that you feel an urge to bat and chase around the house.
I play with the ball for a while.
I wait and see what happens with Jed.
Jed clearly cares for you, and over the next month, your leg makes a full recovery. He gives you dry cat food, but also gives you meat, generally a couple times a week. He frequently comments how smart you are.
Is there anything you'd like to do over the course of this month?
I'll practice Neko-do when Jed is not around.
Sadly, as with all good things....
Late at night while Jed is sleeping, you hear the footsteps of five people approaching the front door of the house.
I will jump on him repeatedly and scream and yell at his face to try to get Jed up.
As you anticipated, the five men break in. One of them is holding a flashlight and a handgun, one has a shotgun, and the other three have handguns.
They have the look of young twenty year olds, probably part of some poorly organized local criminal group. They certainly look as if they're coming here under violent motives.
Which one are you attacking?
Bump for Great Justice!!!
I was trying to wake Jed up.
I try to go into neko-do, let out a loud Kiai and attack the one with the shotgun.
1@6 Kiai P8@0 shout to intimidate gives -10 sit-mod to opponent skills for one minute.

Your kiai is successful, and you dive on the face of the one carrying the shotgun. He screams, and shoots one of the three carrying just handguns in the leg.
You get pushed off his face and hit the floor; the flashlight finds you even as the men begin shooting, bullets bouncing off the floor around you.
I attack the guy with a shotgun again.
I'm going for a groin attack.
As you approach him, you find yourself looking down the barrel of the shotgun.
Another gunshot rings out, and he springs backward, emptying the other barrel into the wall. Gunfire rings out from the five remaining standing men (Jed included), and in about two minutes, all of them are down; Jed is seriously wounded, and the five who came in are dead.
I try to contact Jed telepathically.
Psi BRA 2@4
Psi Bias 1@8
If it work, I think Jed, are you ok?
If it doesn't work, I walk up to him, sit and wait.
The telepathy fails.
Jed coughs, tries to sit up, and fails. He's wheezing and turning pale, losing a lot of blood.
"Looks like it's the end of the line for me, Magnus.
"You're the man of the house while I'm gone."
With that, he breathes his last.
Goodbye Jed... I'm sorry I couldn't help you more...
If Jeds eyes are still open, I try to close them.
After that I have some rage issues to work out with our five 'guests'.
I'm using their bodies as targets to develop the neko-ken
I want it to be base lethal and limited so that it is the only attack in the minute.
I will also test the other style on them and when I find out that it is defective, I try to develop the first version again.
You develop the skills, destroying the bodies. (1@1 Neko-ken, 1@2 for the style.)
Eventually, you are simply too worn out to continue devastating the bodies, but Jed is still dead; rigor mortis is beginning to set in.
I need to calm down and get Jed a proper grave somehow
Does Jed have a telephone? If so, I try to get the phone off the hook and dial 911.
After that, I go outside to find somewhere that is nearby but hidden to sleep in.
Jed has a phone, yes.
You dial 911.
How do you intend to leave?
I'm hoping the 911 operator will send somebody up here.
Isn't the door still open from when they broke in?
If not, I go into the +40 Attack DM, +10 attack SM vesion on neko-do and try to neko-ken my way through the door.
Your first strike (10) hits the door, but doesn't break it.
Your second (95 is a botch) smashes into the wall next to the door, injuring you for the moment.
If my injury isn't too bad, I will try to open the door with the doorknob.
if that doesn't work, I go back to neko-kening my way through the door.
You manage to open the doorknob on the first try; knowing how a doorknob works certainly helps, but you're feeling less helpless about your situation.
You slink out of the house just as the police cars, ambulance, and fire truck are stopping short in the front lawn.
I will hide and wait.
You hide and wait.
The police enter first; one exits quickly and vomits on the ground in front of the house.
The inside is proclaimed clear, and the fire truck leaves. The EMTs stay long enough to see there's nothing they can do before leaving. One of the police officers calls in to the station that homicide will be required at the scene and gives the address.
Are you going to wait to hear the detectives' take on it?
Sure, why not?
Let's here what the detectives say.
Two detectives pull up in an unmarked car. One is dark skinned, clean shaven, and wearing a pressed suit. The other is of asian decent, scruffy, wearing a dirty t-shirt and jeans. They're talking while they walk towards the house.
"Who would've thought Jed would have went down like this," the black detective muses.
"Any bounty hunter who bring in that much scum is bound to have enemy," the asian detective answers.
They walk inside.
"Holy ----," the dark skinned detective swears, "What happened here?"
"Don't know, sir," one of the officers on scene responds.
"Five come in, one with a flashlight, something suprise them, in they confusion, Jed woke up. He come out gun blazing, he kill all five, but he take some shot himsel; tha much is cleal.
"Aftel that is what intelesting. Someone come in here, mangle the body, then call 911 and leave. Get plint flom that phone plea."
"He knew all that from just looking?"
"Don't worry about it," the dark skinned detective responds.
Wow. TV show detectives...
I'll continue listening in on them
The asian detective walks outside and lights a cigarette. Another unit arrives and begins roping off the scene and investigating.
"Call animal conchole," the asian detective says to one of the officers. "I think I found the only witness."
The officer goes to make the call.
How did he notice me?...TV Detective... they're going to track me through the woods. ---- it. I'll just turn myself in... I think I'll freak him out a bit.
I come out of hiding and walk up to the asian detective.
I start writing on the dirt.
'Don't bother with that. I'll go with you
Do you have a computer? It would be easier for me to use that.'
The referee takes a moment to realize what you're doing, then stares, laughs, and rolls a few dice for success and general effects.
§
You begin writing your message, and the detective says, "Hmm, intelesting...."
Focusing on your message, you fail to hear one of the officers removing their coat.
Before you know it, you've been grabbed with the coat, and you are being held tightly off the ground wrapped in it.
Calm down, Eli. you can murder the coat later.
How far along did I get in my message?
I wait...
"It would be easi..."
They throw you into the back of a squad car and shut you in as you squirm out of the coat.
The doors do not open from the inside, the partition seperating the front from the back reaches all the way down to the floor, and there's a solid transparent window above the seats.
After about an hour passes, an officer gets in the front seat. He drives the vehicle to the "pound"; animal control. He drives inside, and a man walks up with a pole with a wire attached to it. They open the door.
Hold on, during that hour I would have tried to nekoken my way through the glass in the back or side windows.
If that doesn't work, I nekoken the wire on the pole.
note: when I'm trying to break these things I'm in
1@2 neko-do v1 B7@1 Slow aggressive weapon-adverse, claw-based, +40 Attack Damage Mod, +10 Attack SM, +20 Defense SM, -40 Defense Damage Mod
Trying to break out the back window, then; reaching the side windows is much more difficult for someone of your stature.
You beat against it for a good fifteen minutes before you get a splinter in your paw. You've scratched the substance multiple times, but it doesn't seem near broken, and your right forepaw is injured.
Your intention?
I wait and see.
I'll let them take me to where ever with the pole with wire.
The animal control officer drapes the wire around your neck and tightens in gently.
"C'mon, buddy," he tells you softly, "It'll hurt a lot less if you cooperate."
He takes you to a room, collars you, and attaches the collar to a ring on the table by a chain.
Shortly afterward, you're joined by the two detectives, along with an older man.
"... and if I'm wong, you can hode it against me," the asian man is saying. They put a laptop in front of you, open to a notepad program.
"Please tell us what you saw," the asian man tells you. The other two look skeptical.
