*smiles*

"Bruce was walking for his picture with the board meeting last week. Who would have helped him escape, anyone, depending on what they wanted from him. Even as an old man, he is an assassin, killer, anarchist, distraction, or a decoy. Take your pick.

"You know Bruce; would he let weakness show to anyone? You're right about Joker.. your guess sounds about as good as mine." This seems like a dead-end. "Well, thanks for seeing us. I'll send your regards to Bruce." Back to the Batcave; if nothing else, I've learned another way not to make a lightbulb.

*he pauses as your ready to go*

"Maybe you should look at his victims, and see if there is any common thread there."

((GE Roll 12))

"Sure, I'll tell Bruce you suggested that. Thanks, Drake. Ever consider picking back up where you left off in the detective work?" Return to the batcave.

*shakes his head*

"Bruce wouldn't let Barbara and me do it anymore after Selena was killed. Between her, Jason and Dick also being killed, Bruce refused to allow anymore help. I have a good life now, tell Bruce I said hello."

*back at the batcave*

*Bruce considers*

"He's killed a lot of people, the only people close to me are Selena, Jason, Dick, and Talia, but Talia is alive again."

"Any of his victims are really the best guesses, those who are close to you would make most sense, so I think we should definitely look into what Talia's been up to. Drake sends his fond regards; I don't know if I've got a Wayne Industries logo branded on my forehead or what, but he immediately guessed you sent us."

*Bruce smiles*

"Tim is a smart guy, with the Joker escaping and being recaptured the same night, he probably put two and two together. He is a good guy, Barbara a good girl, I just couldn't keep them in this life. Not with their relationship and this life. Not with Joker offing partners and friends."

*thinks*

"Talia is not the easier to get ahold of, and I do not know if she would want to kiss me, kill me, or put me in the Lazarus Pit. We have a son together, long story, I wouldn't have told you if he wasn't another possible candidate. The others, unless you want to exhume their bodies are harder to work with."

"You have a son?!" I force myself to calm down at this revelation. "That would certainly be Joker's best option if he could be swayed. We absolutely need to find him; do you have any information on him?"

*Bruce smiles*

"He is with Talia, and his name is Damien, I mentioned him as an option because he is my son. I do not think Talia would let that happen, or if it did, she would let me know something was wrong. Well she is likely with her father Raze-Al-Gul, in his Castle in Romania."

"That is a very long journey. can't we just call?"

*nods*

"We are both rich, only the rich have phones."

*he turns around and after speaking to two or three different operators, Bruce is speaking*

"Hello Talia, been a long time"

"Yes I know I have some nerve, but this is important."

"Yes, yes, I know what you told me."

"No, I have not changed my mind, it's unnatural."

"Is Damien alright?"

"That's all I wanted to hear, thank you *CLICK*"

*Bruce hangs up*

"Damien is fine."

"Something we are missing."

*checks UNIVAC*

"Bstsignal is up."

"Good. Hopefully it's about the Joker." Time to suit up. Before leaving, I tell Bruce in Batman voice, "If any new information comes up, you know how to get ahold of me." Then we'll go in the Batmobile to near where the Batsignal originates and go to the roof where it is quietly.

*You head out, it's a clear night, you make it to the police headquarters, and you use your grapple lines to get to the roof, the signal is on, there is a policeman tied up and there is a box with a note*

"To the new Batman."

"This is going to be fun"

*there is a baterang inside*

((GE roll 9))

I'll check the box and batarang for traps. Before taking it out I'll untie the policeman; is he conscious?

*The baterang and box are not trapped, the policeman took a punch to the face, he is unconscious, but not dying or in danger of dying*

*Cass looks around on the roof as you are tending to him, finds a pack of matches*

"I found this"

I will look at the pack of matches; any specific brand, or hotel? Have any been used?

*The pack of matches is closed, the outside says Club Risque, it's a black cover, with white lettering.*

*Cass is checking out the policeman's badge and wallet*

Ok, it's time to wake the policeman. A sternal rub ought to do it. (If you want to make a skill for it, you can go ahead; taking the middle knuckles of my hand, I'll will painfully drag them across his sternum with slight pressure. This is an actual technique medical personnel use in emergency situations when someone has overdosed and fallen unconscious or it is a time when they are unconscious and ought not be. I know about it without actually ever having had the opportunity to use it on anyone, one of the perks of having a nurse for a mother. Slight pressure because too much pressure and you could seriously injure someone; as it is they will be feeling it for a while. I need to know what he saw, and quickly.)

*Cass deftly puts the wallet and badge back and shrugs*

*You sit down and rub the man sensually, he stirs after a minute of stroking*

*You ask him what he saw*

"I came up here, saw the batsignal and got hit from behind, I didn't see much, he was wearing leather buckled boots before I blacked out on the ground."

((05 on Rubbing Men to wake them up 1@1 :P ))

(((hahaha dude that isn't cool))) Alright, "You should see a doctor." And we're gone with stealth. Once we're back in the batmobile, open commlink and tell Bruce, "Witness says he saw black leather buckled boots, then he was knocked out; there was a pack of matches that say Club Risque. Where is this Club Risque?"

((You made it too easy sorry :P we'll rename the skill Rubbing Pressure Points to wake people up))

*He nods and heads down the stairs*

"Bruce says"

*It's a stripclub on 5th street and rush, careful, a matchbook, seems a little too easy*

"You're right. They'll be expecting us." We're going to check out the roof when we get there.

*You head there, the roof is clean, as are the nearbye roofs, you enter the establishment, there are several girls dancing but the bartender looks like he just saw a ghost.*

Is there anything else I see? Maybe something the bartender is looking at?

*He made a quick look to the back room, and then goes quickly back to washing glasses. The girls and customers seem not to be out of the ordinary or worried about anything in particular.*

((Roll 19 with bonuses, in there for Init))

Hmm... with most back of house places, there are no windows in the back of house. Is there at least an employee entrance to it, or a bay door, or something of that sort?

*If you cased out the place, there is an employee entrance, but you see it clearly on the other side of the bar, the office or back area, is a separate area it looks like*

h'm. I'm really looking for some kind of alternate entrance, but in lieu of one, walking in the front door is the last thing Joker will expect.

((Going to assume you mean goto the back room, if I am incorrect we can go back))

*You walk through the bar, and head to the backroom door, no one is stupid enough to try and stop you, you hear voices in the kitchen, and there is a small crew there making buffet food, and they give you one look and continue with their good preperation, there are yet noises behind a concealed door in the pantry*

"You look around at the stunned faces, looks like high ranking Lt's and Captains of all the major mobs in Gotham, they are not expecting to see you two there."

*Cass remarks*

"Somehow this doesn't seem how I thought it would go down."

Me neither. I walk into the room slowly, looking at all of them, waiting for one of them to speak first.

*They all snear and make faces*

"We weren't expecting you, why were we all called here?

*there is a high pitched whistle that's getting louder that can be heard in here.*

"It's not safe here; everybody run before you all die." Leaving. Now. Quickly. Then disappear into the night.

*You and Cass go out the doorway you were in the others, however were not so fortunate as the rocket goes off against the wall*

((86 to hit the wall, done, blaste radius of 30, 43 to 10', 21 to 20' 10 to 30', the mob guys are dead, you out of zone))

*You get thrown from the pantry into the kitchen, no one in the room could have survived*

Yeah, I'm a beast. Don't I have a fall impact avoidance or something? If not I guess I'll try to roll out of my flying, then turn around and go through the hole in the wall after the Joker.

((You can use it, you took no damage, unless you wanted to stay in the blast radius and then roll it. :P))

*You run up through the rubble and take a look around, the whistle lasted 6 seconds, meaning the person firing was roughly a half mile away when firing, and probably at an upward angle, do you have any means to see that far, or that would lead you in the right direction?*

No, I'm mainly striking out in a direction that it looks like someone could be half a mile away in.

No, I'm mainly striking out in a direction that it looks like someone could be half a mile away in.

*You leap out and start heading rooftop to rooftop with your grapple and after a mile, you see nothing amiss*

*Cass whistles*

"Whoever it is, they are good."

((Gave you a 25% chance, and rolled an 89))

Back on the comm with Bruce, explain to him what happened.

Back on the comm with Bruce, explain to him what happened, then back to where the missile hit to see if anyone went to make sure I'm dead (from an adjacent rooftop, of course).
