((OK, I will have to put some thought into this.))
((Take your time, better to prepare and not verse out than rush in))
Okay... so do I have any bat-chemical in my utility belt?
((Roll of 35 means you have pretty much any chemical known to man to the year 1970, in a small amount, 3 doses))
No, no, Bat-chemical. Known to Batman, not to regular man. ((Adam West as Batman used it, it makes metal 20 times heavier.)) ((off to bed)) ((edit: I really don't expect to have practically anything Adam West used, that show was ridiculous))
((Adam West's Batman doesn't exist in my world, trashed the series for 30 years, but the chemical exists, three doses))
OK, well, this should make a few of those birds flightless! Hnn... how about exploding baterangs?
((You have 5 of those))
OK, 5, 3, that's maybe six or seven down, hmm... I'm going to need a way to defend myself, clearly. Have I got some kind of collapsible shield, or something of that sort?
((No shield, but Cass has the same arms and tools as you))
OK... then hopefully she follows my lead. While they're at range, I'm goin to start throwing exploding baterangs into their midst; when the get close, I'm going to get them with the bat-chemical.
*You start throwing and shooting chemical, Cass follows suit, you two are spent, but the birds are also spent, The Penguin is messing with controls, you don't see the good Dr. Anywhere in sight.
((Rolls 4 misses, enough hits to not have to worry about more combat))
Shoot at the Penguin with my grapple. I want to get him wrapped up and drag him over to myself.
*He is faster than you, you steal init, you yank him over as he pulls a lever, the giant, Robot Ostrich, is active.*
*Penguin gloats*
"Vengence is mine!"
Hmm.. Giant, Robot, these words do not sound good to me. Alright, since I didn't use the Bat-chemical before, now would be a good time to use it. Then I'm going to make my escape with the Penguin, once I've made it heavier (and hopefully slower). Once we've gotten outside, have I got some handcuffs on my utility belt? those will be for Penguin so that I can have my grapple back and we can get to a rooftop. It would be best to get a higher perspective on this Giant ostrich.
((I had assumed you used the bat chemical, you had 8 shots, you missed 4 between the both of you had 12 robots, 16-4=12, wish to change your plan?))
No and yes. Bat-chem is gone then, so we'll run outside, cuff Penguin, grapple up to another roof.
*You do all that without a problem, and the giant bird breaks through the warehouse and starts running through the streets, a 30ft metal bird, with a real bird brain, looking to do what birds do*
A pain attack for Penguin. "How do you shut it off?"
*You put him in pain*
*he squaks*
"Why would I have out in a shutdown switch it's perfection, a mechanical body with a bird's brain, the perfect blend of bird and machine."
*The bird has wrecked a path from the warehouse to the water close by, and is trying to drink and eat pavement*
*Cass looks at it and thinks on it*
"Might just have to grapple up and rip past the metal and attack the organic part."
"There has to be some kind of power source. Where is it located?" Pain attack to coincide with "where". I will ask now in advance whether or not I have an item in my utility belt to overload a mechanical device; otherwise my current line of reasoning is somewhat moot.
*You make him hurt, and he squawks and squawks*
"I dunno...IdunnoIdunnostopit....I didn't make it."
*You do have a device to short out a power source, but again, it would likely mean getting inside it, while the head isn't nearly as hard to get inside deep enough to effect it*
Hmm.. what to do, what to do... I'll find something to cuff Penguin to and run off after the bird. I expect Penguin will probably find a way to escape, but the risk to innocents is greater for now if I let that bird get away. Going for the head and looking for an entrance. If I really can't catch up with it I'll go for the batmobile.
*The bird is currently trying to dig it's head into the sand, or concrete, and it is not being that successful.*
*Penguin who is cuffed says*
"Next time a smarter bird, definitely."
*The bird is about 100 feet away and not doing much*
Perfect, that should make it easier for me to glean access to the head. I will contact Bruce on my way over to give him a status update.
*Bruce takes it all in*
"Deal with the robot, but don't forget the real threat."
((So got a plan for the bird? You have pretty much any tool you need on your tool belt, and a number of ways to take care of it.))
I'm looking for some access on the head here to get under to where the bird is.
((GE roll 23))
*The panels are not only riveted shut, they are also welded, you could spend time prying it or torching it, but I am thinking of another way, we'll see what you come up with.*
OK, so, if I had a giant alka seltzer... yeah, didn't think so. Do I have a laser cutter to make short work of this metal?
((No it's a long task, this is steel, high melting point and an inch thick, you mentioned something in a previous post that would make short work if it, last hint you get :P ))
OK... going to try to fry it through the steel. (I looked and saw not; liquid nitrogen warms up much too quickly to be scientifically practical in a situation like this, and was the only other relevant thing I saw on my person other than the 2 vials of bat-chem Cass should still have.)
((I would have given you the Nitrogen and shooting the spot immediately with the grapple shattering the piece))
((GE roll 16))
*You are there a good 10 minutes, trying to undo the welds, and your in, just then the bird's head shoots up and it's off, Cass shoots a grapple to get into it's back.*
*Cass says*
"Might want to get this bird quick before it gets to the heart of the city."
*That is where it is headed*
(Yeah, unfortunately, the liquid nitrogen I've seen doesn't work that way in practical circumstances; it warms off quickly enough that if someone were to splash some on you, it might feel a little chilly for a moment before it evaporated. Immersing something in it is different altogether.) Alright, got a spot to get in, grapple up if I'm not there and try to find a good spot to fry it.
*You climb in (It's a 5 foot max cube, and you see the brain in a glass jar plugged into the wires, you feel the robot pick up speed quickly, tell he how you are going to do this, and I will see what results happen*
A glass jar? How thick is the glass? I'll try to break it with my grapple. If it breaks I'll go ahead and fry the brain with my overload tool.
((half inch thick))
*You aim the grapple at the glass, it misses, reloading, new plan?*
*81 roll will not do it with material*
Half inch thick glass... I'll try to strike it with my baterang a couple times.
((98 botch, 86 miss, 98 botch, 82 miss, 71 hit with enough force to break glass))
*After some embarrassing attempts you get the glass shattered, and you hit it with your electrical zapper, and it explodes, the beast got up to 60 mph, and is now skidding and falling with nothing controlling it, GE roll 14, Damage /5, 52, 10 Intensities, and a shard of glass embedded between your left cheek and nose, but your alive, and saved Gotham, Cass digs you out and looks at the glass*
"Want me to yank it out and heal you?"
"Thure."
*She yanks it out like ripping out a bandaid, and tries to heal you, and cannot, she looks frustrated, centers herself and tries again, and heals the face wound, but you are battered, thing flesh ball in a pinball game*
*You also remember about the Dr*
