"Well, your a Verser now. When you're defeated i.e. killed you are forced through the sriff and emerge in another universe alive. What you do with your quasi-immortality is up to you. But I would suggest that you stay here for awhile and train. The multiverse is a more forgiving place if you're strong. And this is a good place to train in combat."

He reaches out to shake your hand.
"I am called Magnus. I suggest that you think of a alias. In high magic worlds your true name is a potent weapon against you"

"That's a bit of a mouthfull, Kyree.
Did you take martial arts or fencing or something before you versed?"

"That's good, but most of the monsters out there don't talk and will attack on sight.
If you played those fantasy role playing games, this would be called a dungeon crawl."

"I don't have an infinite health cheat, but I could teach you some healing chi techniques.
That will help with your survival."

that's valid

I'm adding

1@2 Life Mag 2@1 Save Life, 1 min TF, has to touch the target and say some appropriate words, the sound is required,Arcane, +7 SM

1@3 Cure Disease Mag 2@4 10 min TF, has to touch the target and say appropriate words, the sound is required,Arcane, +7 SM

1@2 Antidote Mag 2@5 Neutralize Poison, 5 min TF, has to touch the target and say appropriate words, the sound is required,Arcane, +7 SM

I think healing is a very useful skill, Chaos on the other hand...

"It's your call.
Well you could use that steak knife over there or that butcher knife or that frying pan.
There is also other weapons scattered allover the castle. some of them have magic in them."

He points to the main castle.

"Well after a few rooms with weak monsters you will find a room with a giant skeleton.
I can't kill it because it keeps reviving itself, but if you defeat it, you can get past it while it is reforming."

You walk over a paved path to the castle.
you see a few zombies shuffling around the castle grounds but they are too far away to notice you.
You open a set of large wooden doors into a decayed hall.
You see a zombie shuffling around in here.
He hasn't noticed you.

(I'm assuming that you are sneaking, do you have this skill already? I'm rolling for skill learning for now. 08. 1@1 sneak Bod 0@6)

You slip past him unnoticed.
you enter the next room, I is a short stone corridor.
There are suits of armor lining the walls, they all have long swords.
There is a suit of highly stylized armor in the center of the room.
It has a one handed ax and a shield
---------
It's rf 1/8

(I believe you. I'm raising it to 2@2)

As you near the stylized armor, it starts to move.
(simple intuition check 7+8=15 pass)
You feel hostile intent coming from the armor but it's movement is clumsy.

Your actions, sir?

The Armor attacks as you back away and ... gets its ax stuck in the stone
You can probably kill it before it gets its ax out.
-----------
ax attack roll 95 +20 dice mod botch
intuition check 1 + 16 = 17 pass

You move quickly around the armor to attack the weaker rear armor.
as you attack, a dark glow flares up an dies down, you feel more... roguish?
Your attack produces a the sound of tearing metal.
you cut all of the leather straps holding the armor together and left a wicked gash in the armor
Some pieces are moving on the floor but they can't do anything without the straps to hold them together.

roll 68
you now have

1@2 Sneak Attack Bod ?@? If you attack an unaware or distracted opponent the attack gets a RS=+1DC/+2DC/+3DC costs one attack to use

lethal 68/5= 14 intensities

Its A nice (I think) kite shield. -10 cover
(GE Roll 9)
One of the armors had a Nice rapier (Dangerous, RF 2 , -10 dice mod, +1 damage mod)

You open the next door and see a long hall with stone pillars on each side.
You see a zombie shuffling around in the middle.
--------------
How do you rate your skill with the rapier?
How good did you get with the sensing movement through vibrations?

I'm changing sneak attack a bit, it is now a separate skill roll and it costs one attack to use.

You sneak up on the zombie easily.
You try the Full Cure and... nothing happens.
You feel mentally exhausted like you used it but, the magic didn't flow.
The zombie noticed you.
You have one more attack before it acts.
---------------
Stealth roll 18
Full Cure roll 91
21 BRA + 13 SAL + 18 MSV + 4 Bias + 27 SM - 11 TV = 72 fail
Zombie Simple Intuition Check 2 + 5 = 7 Pass

Do you use the rapier like a tool or is it part of a style?
What was the range of the detect vibrations?

If I'm reading this right the use of an RF 1/8 magic skill will prevent the use of magic skills for 8 minutes. If you had psionic skills, you could use them.
What's the plan now?

You draw the rapier and stab at it.
You hit it in the head. It doesn't look like it can take another hit like that
It's the beginning of the next minute
---------
skill check to draw and act 01 pass
attack roll 70 -10 + 1= 61
1@6 rapier skill + 2@1 BRA + 1@8 MSV + 22 Bias - 11 TV = 66 pass
61/10 = 7 intensities

Before the zombie can react, you stab it in the head again.
It collapses and an orb of darkness flies into you.
You're feeling more energetic and stabtacutar?
You feel some vibrations coming from 10 feet behind you

It's a Zombie.(I'm assuming you are just going to attack it)
You nick the side of its body
It's the beginning of the next minute. (I'm assuming you are just going to continue attacking it)

You stab at the zombie but miss due to a sudden lurch that moved its head out of the way.
It follows with an attack that misses you by a large breath.
you follow up with a stab though the zombies heart.
It hurts it but not as much as it would hurt a human.
It's the beginning of the next minute. (I'll pause here in case you have other plans.

--------------
your attack roll 19 -10 +1 = 10
10/10 = 1 intensitie

Zombie initiative roll 98 fail (can you botch on initiative rolls?)
your initiative roll 21 pass

your attack roll 99 - 10 = 89 fail
Zombie attack roll 80 fail
your attack roll 29 -10 +1 = 20
20/10 = 2 intensities

OK Next Minute.

You spend the next minute missing each-other and finally hit it in the head
It collapses and an orb of darkness flies into you.
You feel better with the rapier.

the next door is very heavy and covered with carvings.
------
Zombie initiative roll 96 fail (wow, this zombie is unlucky. eh/)
your initiative roll 73 you fail by less (does the -10 dice mod apply to initiative?)

your attack roll 80 - 10 = 70 fail
Zombie attack roll 84 fail
your attack roll 78 - 10 = 68 fail (wow, this is a close miss)

next minute

Zombie initiative roll 78 fail
your initiative roll 67 pass

your attack roll 45 - 10 +1 = 36
36/10 = 4 intensities

rapier skill +@1

You're unhurt, and you can use magic again.
You open the door and go in
It's a dark room.
When you close the door, you hear it lock.
The room brightens up until you can see that the room is a large circle about 50 ft. in diameter.
You see the bones of a giant skeleton.
Its pelvis is gone along with its lower legs and it drags itself along with its arms
It’s wielding its femur like a club.

You charge in and easily get to drop on your slow adversary.
you easily hit it and it can't seem to get the grove.
It takes a large powerful swing and... misses. the femur flies out of its hand.
You finish it with a stab through the eye socket.
A large ball of darkness rises up and shoots into you.
You feel a lot better in many areas.

---------

giant skeleton initiative roll 92 fail
your initiative roll 44 pass

your attack roll 39 -10 +1 = 30
30/10 = 3 intensities

As you do the save live ritual you hear Mangus's voice behind you

"It's dead Kryee, you put it down for good.
After watching you fight, I know what this weird feeling I sensed in your chi.
You received a boon from Chaos.I would call it Darkness Devourer.
If you chose to do so you could defeat the guardians that are trying to wake the castle up. your Darkness Devourer will prevent the darkness inside of them from reviving."

"Sorry, but I can't do that.
Chaos would get VERY angry at me, and you don't want to get on the bad side of a god.
Two, this is almost a perfect world to train your strength."

A mischievous grin appears on his face

"But, I'll tell you what I can do. I can teach and train you.
That won't ---- Chaos off.

The only problem it that we only have a little over a year before you need to defeat the guardians. I can train you in martial art, magic and a little psionics.
So what do you what to train? And how do you want to do it?"

I'm going to hammer out the details of what Magnus will teach you.
I'm assuming that you want to learn martial arts, psionics and magic.

Is that correct?

Can you post some details on what kind of martial arts, psionics and magic your character would want to learn?

Feel free to go into the game mechanics.

When you bring up the necromantics, Magnus's tone suddenly turns icy.
"Why are you interested in necromancy?"

You feel something powerful and angry connect to your mind.

What are you thinking when you answer him?
----------
Magnus's telepathy roll 12
your simple intuition check 16

OOC: sorry for the long wait.

"That's acceptable."

He noticeably calm down after you explain what you meant by necromancy.

When you were taking about martial arts, you quickly find out that Magnus is nearly the exact opposite of you. His styles tend to sacrifice Def SM for bonuses to the other three areas. He says that he will try to develop a style for you.

When you were taking about magic, He says that he doesn't use his curative abilities a lot.
He also says that you have a long way to go before you can raise the dead. that road often involves learning combat and support magic.

When you were taking about psionics, He says that he isn't very good with them but he will teach you what he knows.

We're starting the training montage now. How much are you focusing on each area?
Do you want to train stats?
