"He told me you were ticklish, and I asked him how long he ticked you as Fizgig and should I be worried. He also said he minds reads you all the time after the betrayal, and I told him I understand, and I would too if it happened, but I am putting myself in a position to trust you 100%, so that's the conversation. I was more worried on the man-on-man ticking myself, just because you turned out to be a woman doesn't mean it is right."
*smiles*
"You told him that?!" She goes to smack Jef half-heartedly, and he moves out of the way. She looks concerned for her well-being.
*smiles and considers*
"I need a set of harmonicas, Tan remarked I had not played my guitar in awhile, and there is a song I want to do, but I would need them and a neck holder for it. Ok let's head back, I might have to slip to an earth type world to pick that up, and let's get a room ready for Jef. Oh I wonder how many shadow clones it takes to make Tan hide from tickling."
*Content to play out the night talking and whatnot till breakfast, and make it for all.*
"Jef will be staying with us, we will see the Hokage first thing, get him situated. Then Tan and myself have some genin to train. If you are bored Jef, I promised Rid there some hand to hand martial arts training, and I think you can help with that."

He like us recently had a great loss, and he just found where we were yesterday. Jef has said he like this place already. I would put his ability at mine and Tan's. We were hoping you would let him stay in the village at the house, you so graciously provided for us. Jef is a good person, I would vouch for him without a second thought."

Jef asks you, "Similar to those?" He motions to a set of harmonicas on the ground like the ones you're thinking of, shiny and new. "Looks like someone doesn't know what they were missing," he tells you.

"No, no, no! You don't get it," Tan protests fruitlessly.

Jef says, "Jef Skye, of clan Keiharuki, at your service." He turns to you with a smile. "Let them try."

A faint smile tugs at the lips of the elderly Hokage. "Who am I to tell you no?"
Jef says to him, "You're the leader of these people and this village. If we weren't welcome here, we certainly wouldn't impose. Since we are, please drop the rhetoric."
The Hokage looks a little bit taken aback, but he responds again, "Do whatever you think is best. I trust your judgement."

"I fail to see how I was disrespectful. I was polite and told him the choice was his whether I stayed or not, and I certainly would have abided by his decision. There are some things that simply shouldn't be tolerated in spite of respect. We found ourselves being disrespected, and I asked him not to treat us that way.
"Two things that I don't get involved with are religion and politics. My father used to say, 'Both are of the people, by the people, for the people, so let the people.'"
*sighs*
"You may have felt yourself disrespected, but it is their way. I did not and have not felt disrespected by being treated that way. That's good, we aren't getting involved, war and peace in the ninja world is a constant theme. These are good people, and even though I am staying out of the way, I am making sure to help when I can. I have to meet my genin, and Tan. Rid and the kids are at the house, feel free to wander about the city, it would be nice to have a pair of eyes and ears around to get a feel for what is going on."

He takes out his eyes and takes off his ears and tries to hand them to you.
"I can keep an eye on things around here, no problem. Anything specific you wanted to know about?"
*Rolls his eyes*
"Just give me any intel you have, it would help to know what is going on, and how to stay out of what we can for now*
*Heads to his genin*
At midday, you are telepathically contacted by Jef.
"As you already know, no one here is powerful enough to cause concern for us. There is a lot of pain here, though; most people seem frightened of a group known as the Akatsuki; around here, they seem frightened of one known as Oroichimaru. I popped in on him, and he doesn't seem to be a threat to people on our level.
"There's one boy in particular, an Itachi Uchiha; he seems to have undergone some sort of severe emotional trauma. One day he may hurt a lot of people if nothing is done about it."
*I will telepathically talk back to him*
"Oroichimaru is not a threat to us, but he is a threat to the people here, the next 12 years are set in stone. If not Naruto will never grow into the protector this village needs if we don't let him confront him in the future.
Itachi will be asked by the elders and Madara Uchiha to wipe out the Uchiha clan, the Uchiha clan was planning a military take over of Lead Village. Itachi is doing this for peace, and will eventually let himself die to his brother. Consider both of these situations politcal, since changing either one will make the entire world politically unstable, and I don't want to get involved yet. Naruto is key to bring lasting peace here.
The Akatsuki, are a renegade bunch of powerful ninja, we are to stay out of their way. They two are entwined with future events. They will be coming after Naruto and other Jinchuri, that is another part of his tests, to deal with them and Itachi's brother Sasuke. They are best friends, with different paths. Consider the next 12 years politcal, we are just here to gather information, and help who we can when we can, when it won't disrupt things."

Jef's wondering why you are training these three, if the case requires you to not be involved with a delicate political power struggle.
Akimitsu is doing a martial arts form, standing on a tree trunk. She gets hit on the head by an acorn, disrupting her concentration, and falls to the ground. She's sore, but not injured.
Jef is sitting up in the tree, grinning, and tosses another acorn down on her.
"Maintain concentration, guys," Tan says, ignoring Jef.
*Thinks to Jef*
"I am training them because they aren't mentioned. They aren't mentioned either because they didn't get involved or died. In either case, if they didn't get involved it means they were out, likely with me dealing with side things that wasn't covered in the anime."
*sighs*
((How are they with the chakra and jumping? When they get to a 2@1 with those, will teach them the unarmed and weapon style and Kunei))

They learned like, a day ago, maybe two or three, four, tops.
It'll take two weeks for your training skill to get a roll to see if they get bumped up a notch.
Assuming a 1@1 base, it will take 18 weeks (or roughly four months and one week) to get to 1@10, and another eight weeks or two months after that to achieve professional level; so, about six months from teaching a skill to attain professional level if you hit every training check.
(If you fail the training check, it takes an additional two weeks to get the skill point.)

A little bird flies up and lands on your outstretched hand. It has a rolled up parchment for you; it appears to be a mission to get a cat out of a tree.
*Reads the note and gets serious*
"Team we have a mission"
*Clears throat*
"We are to get a cat out of a tree, let's get on it."

At first they look stoked, Bairei in particular looks excited.
When you say it's to get a cat out of a tree, they look disappointed. Bairei asks, "What?! Can't the cat get out of the tree itself?!"
*Looks at them all*
"You are out of academy for a week, and you are balking at a mission. You are a ninja, ninjas do paperwork, they deliver messages, they help the locals with tasks. You have done 0 missions, confronting an enemy is a class B, A, or S mission, this is a class D. You will do any and all missions assigned to you, like they are important, because they are. Someone has to do the grunt work, and right now you three are the grunts. Got it?"

Akimitsu nods, looking resigned to the task. Chiko just falls into step. Bairei grumbles about it to himself.
You all find the tree easily enough.
*Waits at the tree*
"Well you three are here to retrieve a cat, make sure it is alive and unhurt. I will be here for backup if the cat proves too much for you."
*says that deadpan*

The cat is there, up in the tree. Akimitsu walks up the tree towards it, saying quietly, "Here, kitty... nice kitty...."
When she gets close enough, it jumps off her face and into another tree. She's falling and trying to find a grip. Are you going to do anything?
*If she cannot catch herself*
"Tuck and roll when you hit the ground, it will lessen the impact"

She manages to clone herself onto the tree and grab herself out of the air.
Tan nods a little, and says to you quietly, "She is impressive. That was quick thinking."
Meanwhile, Bairei is climbing the tree the cat is currently in.
In jumps on his face, and he grabs it, and it claws him a lot, and he falls out of the tree onto his back, still getting clawed.
The cat walks off of him up to you, weaves between your legs, petting itself on you, and says, "Niaaaooo?"
*Nods*
"Agreed, looks like they are hungry for more abilities, I need to pay a visit to B and Chiko's parents to get them to show me their Jutsu, so I can instruct them."
*Sighs*
"Looks like I am going to have to add how to absorb a fall into your training."
*offers my hand to the cat, letting it get my scent, and not making an aggressive move to it and seeing if it wants to be petted.*

It rubs its head aggressively against your hand and meows again. Akimitsu and Bairei have both made it back by now. Bairei looks annoyed, and Akimitsu smiles, "Aww, so cute!"
