We'll need to come up with a counter for abilities like that if and when they work."

"Good memory, The Zombie Brothers Hidan and Kakusu were my next choices for a test. Hidan is the easy one, he can only kill himself and you in his little circle, make him step out of that, and the curse doesn't work. Or you could be referring to the one The Third used to kill the two impure resurrection Hokage's and took the use of Oorchimaru's arms till he got a new body. That one, is just yanking the souls out of a body, I don't know if there is a body skill that will prevent that, but there are plenty of psionic ones that can shield, or teleport you, or dissipate energy. I see the problem for yourself, who is not capable of those, and not sure if your resistance will be enough to stop it. The Flash Phasing may stop it, or you can make a Body Defense that refuses to let your soul and body be separated. You are the expert on those skills, if you make it, train us all in it. The Black Flames the Sharingan users can do, can be stopped. The body switching one, a simple eject, or mind defense would defend against. I can see how being limited to body skills is a problem. You did do one Psionic ability, that calming down one, was. Is it personal choice not to use them, mental block or something else?"

She seems to be playing with a stick. There are several dead trees around her;
she points the stick at a living tree, and its leaves fall as it shrivels and dies.
*Saying loud, but not a yell*
"Please put the stick down Eria while I come over to talk to you about what is happening."
*Making his way over when she puts down the stick, ready to Flash Phase Teleport over if she swings to point it at someone*
"What are you doing honey, what is that, and why are you pointing it at trees?"

She beams at you, "I made it for you, daddy! Do you like it?"

"It's a stick that when you point it at things or people, it makes it older? Or does it kill them? I just want to make sure, you don't ever make something like this and point it at a friend. I love you Eria, you do understand about how hurting people without them doing anything wrong is bad right?
*I hug her and make sure she knows this is a good conversation, not one where she is being chastised or punished, I want to know she knows the difference between right and wrong, and what hurting people and death means*

"Oh, well, yeah, of course," she looks a little bit embarassed. "You don't hurt anyone unless you have to.
"Do you wanna see how it works?"

"Sure but I am going to have to bring these trees back to life, can't have a dead spot to let people know we are here you know? Pick a tree and show me how, and then let me bring them back to life, since the trees did nothing to us ok hun?"

"Okay," she tells you. She picks up the stick, points it at a tree, and says forcefully, "Die."
The tree does as it's told.
*Nods interesting*
"Do you think you can make one that does the opposite, and say forcefully, "Live"? We can put ribbons around them, to make sure they are pretty and I know which one is which? Then I can bring the poor trees back to life."
*smiles*

She thinks for a minute, then responds, "Sure, but it'll take a while." She smiles.

"Eria made a death stick for me, she is going to make a life stick for me next at my request. So you were about to say Tan?"

Tan tells you, "It's more that I never took the time to work on those things; there have always been other, more impotant things to spend my time on."
*smiles*
"Well we have time, and it's not like you are going to be baking cookies, doing crocheting or bible studies. I knew what I was getting myself marrying you, 5 feet of a tough as nails, no nonsense warrior woman. I'm just saying always temper training with fun, I'm thinking of calling tomorrow pool party day to raise spirits, give the kids a break, and enjoy the pool. Jef your on trunks, one piece, two piece and string bikini duty. It might also be a good time to figure out who knows how to swim, and who doesn't. Swimming is a very underrated, but valuable skill."

It takes Jef very little time to give you the bathing clothes, and he tells you, "They might not be perfectly tailored, but they'll do."
Tan agrees with you about tempering work with fun. She just also happens to find her work fun.
*To Jef*
"Thanks, btw what weapons do you use? Just curious."
*To Tan*
"Well those kids being teenagers, and well the others being teenagers compared to you, one day off every so often is good. You also need to learn to relax and slow down sometimes. A day off is good for you as well, let your hair down. We are all somewhat human, well cept for Jef, and only half for you, Rid isn't and Val started as a contruct, but you get the point."
*Grins*
*To the kids*
"Tomorrow is a day off, pool party, grab the swimwear you want."

Jef tells you, "Np man, I use a nunchaku that has an edge instead of a bludgeon."
Tan responds to you, "My question is, are you really taking off, or are you just using one of your clones while the others still work?" She smiles wryly.
The kids seem mostly excited, except Eria; she seems distracted, as usual.

"Interesting, so one end to hold, and a blade attached to the chain. Do you use just one or a pair?*
*To Tan*
"I am really taking off, giving my clones the day off as well. Between danger sense and Jef's *Mr. Eye in the Sky*, I think I can take the day off, Val and I can take turns sitting with Vikki, and I get to enjoy the scenery when sitting and swimming."

Tan's face doesn't even twitch as she asks in an honest tone, "Oh, you think my sister's hot? Maybe we should see if she'd be interested in joining us behind closed doors some time."
Jef gives you a look that says this is clearly a trap.

"Really Tani? That would be really cool, I figure right after I suggest it, Val would cold clock me, as you rip off my testicles, that would be a fun evening."

"I can be honest about looks, and still be loyal, or did we forget the hundreds of years in the in between, where I refused to cheat on Val? Your sister is a good looking woman, you are better looking, they are both true, but all you focus on is that I dared mentioned her in the same sentence. Jef nods in agreement with you, and Tan crosses her arms and pouts.

I never planned on being with anyone else but Val, but you came, shared so much with me, brought me to a place to have your skills and abilities. So here we are, I am a guy, so yes we notice other women, but notice who gets my attention, who I spend my time with, who I share my bed with. You and Val, are more than any guy can ask for. No need to pout. I do have an observation to share. You realize since you are half human, even though you are younger in age than Rid, you are older in terms of when you are mature. When all the bad things happened, she lost her mother, was lost and horrible things done to her, she was a little girl. She was also a little girl when she did those bad things to you. She knew more wrong in her life than right. In reality, she is still much younger than you, because of the human half you have."

"You see how I treat the girls, my life wasn't nearly as bad as yours, but I know what an abusive family member can do to you growing up. I'm just saying, she is your sister, and grandfather wanted you two to be the ones to be saved. I talked with her as a brother, about this same situation. The two of us are managing to coexist somehow, but having the two of us together is like setting off firecrackers in a room full of gunpowder."
Jef hums a couple bars from the theme to Star Wars and tells you, "Not a bad collection of movies, no. Maybe we should make a stop there when you're done here."

"I understand, but I am also being practical about the situation. We are training here, eventually it will come to a point where you won't have the advantage in a fight, and it will be dead even. I would want to make sure by that point, we weren't on bad terms anymore. That is just me. I've talked to both of you, got pretty much the same response, so I've done my job. It's up to the two of you to go further."
*To Jef*
"Same problems as here, unless you go to the old republic, or after the movies, books, and whatnot, I would be afraid to disrupt things. It is also a place where Tan would be annoyed at is she continues not to want to do magic, tech and psionics. It is something to consider."
"I figure in another few months, I'll introduce the Zombie Brothers, Then Itatchi and Kisame, Deirdra and Toby, Pain and Konan, and finally Sasuke and Madara. If the kids know those players, they can take on any threats this world has to offer."

Jef tells her, "He was kidding." To you, he continues, "I've never been much for politics, either. The firecracker you've got in your lap, on the other hand..."

*To Tan* "I am kidding or course, a dowry was a practice of father's on my planet, in days where having girls was a burden. Fathers would basically make a bribe to get a man to take a daughter off his hands, so that he would not be responsible for taking care of her for life. These were days where women didn't fight, didn't work other than household chores, making and raising babies. It died out about 200 years before I died, but it is common enough, that many movies and books do make mention of it. It wouldn't have popped into my mind, but Grandfather had some choice words for me about you when giving you away at the wedding. I think that you were beyond frustrating, probably had a lot to do with it. For the record that's one of the reasons why I love you. I know you will always tell me your feelings, and there is no bowling over you when choices are made."
*To Jef*
"I think all three of us are on the same page in terms of politics. You leave things alone, till something is bad enough to warrant attention, you take care of it, then extricate yourself from the situation when the problem is done. I only because All Ruler, because it needed to be done, not because I wanted it, and I really had no desire to become a sword, no matter how fast my friends changed me back. Anyway, here is easier, we will never be chosen to lead, because we are outsiders. We can do what we need to do, and not have to worry about that thrust on us. Besides, I made a promise to those kids and Victoria, that I would raise em right, teach them to defend themselves, and then they can make their own decisions about their lives."

Jef tells you, "You and I are pretty much in agreement, but Tan is wholly different. In my experience, she'd probably join one side, then turn on them when victory seemed sure, then turn back when victory seemed sure for the other side, just so she could have a personal challenge."
"I wouldn't," Tan says in such a noncommital way that you can't be completely sure by her tone alone.
