She never really met Rupert--avoided a lot of those situations and pushed toward the rescue. So she doesn't know of what he is capable.

@Ashe Valerin of the Stonefist, Adam run by MJ: Well, the solution is simple. Not all women could possibly be as described, history tells us that that description is of the middle classes.
Head for a decently sized "city," go to the brothels, and extend an open invitation (worded as a challenge to those who would not want to spend their entire lives in this occupation) to the women there to get out of their current lifestyle, ascertain guaranteed food and shelter for themselves (and their children), learn to defend themselves (and their offspring), give their children a fighting chance to not grow up to be prostitutes and criminals, and no longer have to live as they've been living. Throw in words like "progressive," "safe," and "free," and it sure looks like a bonused persuasion check to me.
It may be the "world's oldest profession," but it's a lifestyle no one really wants to live, in spite of how they may have deluded themselves temporarily. It has the added benefit that these women likely come from a low income background and broken lives; they likely have middle amateur skills at some form of fighting, likely knife use.
@me run by Adam: Should've had an option on there for computer becomes AI like Holly from Red Dwarf.
"It's gone! Earth is gone!
"Oh wait, sorry. Wrong window."
@ Eli's game
You know, there are some questions you can ask about a zombie apocalypse that it's better to not have answered.
I don't think recruiting prostitutes in the medieval period is going to be good for much more than filling out the ranks. I guess over a long period they might be able to fight in formation with pikes, but they're not really fit or experienced in wielding the more effective weaponry.
@ JTM
I am already teaching the men to fight as body skills, it is really no difference, they might not be strong enough for a Long Sword, but a Short Sword, and Daggers should be fine.
He's personally training them in martial arts to fight vampires.
Testing if the spam filter might be messing with the bumping
EDIT: Ah, that's quite a different matter then. The lighter weaponry should be perfectly suitable. Recruiting from experienced knights and men-at-arms would save time but be much more difficult.
It would also be counter-productive, to some degree. Adam wants to build a Ranger-type special forces unit, but he wants in the process to increase the total number of humans capable of fighting, not to draw from the existing fighter pool.

@A1nut's last post in Eric's game:
speaking as the first person to object, either replace at dollar dollar with pound percent ampersan or dash dash dash or just get rid of it, please. Sure, I agree it's obvious what you mean, but like that it's much too obvious.
On the contrary, people still would have a problem with the first, and profanity screens that I am acquainted with filter out both of those.
Best would be --- or #$* or *** or anything that makes it not obvious what you're saying.
I could write the words with mixed up letters and it won't be picked up by a software program, but the word will still be clearly legible and parental units may feel uncomfortable with their children exposed to such things.
still @ A1nut's game with Eric:
Eat the heart! Eat the heart! Eat the heart! Eat the heart!
Adam's game with Eric: Sounds to me like another indig's got a crush on your woman. =P
Yeah!
Ok, why does Mechanoman have it in for Midnite who he's never met?
Ninja'd, but very good Kyler.
It was pretty blatant, not only is he pissed that I am running, jumping, and beat him in a robot suit, but he knows Tessa and Midnight have a history, and now I've showed up so now he really doesn't have a chance. I just chose not to rub it in much, but I certainty don't want to work with any group with him right now.
@ Ric being run by MJ: "That was just like escaping from mother's womb. God, what a memory."
@ Harry's game: Isn't Adam taking him over, now, then?
And now I've really ticked John off now. Heh, heh.
And Adam, he has, Edit..had, good reason to think he can beat you. He's one of the toughest guys out there. Of course, if he goes at you again, he's going to pull that Iron Man trick out...brand new suit with new powers.
And he's the most hardheaded of all the mystery men with 2@7 Willpower.
Yeah, really, symbols representing vulgarity are a poor substitute for intelligent writing. You can always write around such dialog, unless it's so essential to the characterization of the character that you can't avoid it--in which case, your best bet is to create a fictional set of vulgarisms.
That is--
- In a rush of colorful language that would cause a sailor to blush, he tells you to leave him alone.
The language in which he expresses his feelings on the subject vividly recall the taste of soap to your mouth from when your mother heard you using similar forms.
Or--
- "Why don't you just arkin' leave me the pan alone, ish-face?"
"I really tumming don't want to be anywhere retching near that."

I told you to eat the lumping heart, A1nut!
@Eric, I meant he didn't have a chance with Tessa, not blindsiding me. I don't want to fight him, I didn't know who he was. Next time, I will know, and I won't fight him. I may not like him, but I am not going to give the bad guys reason to think that there is tension. This time was a bad situation with a hothead who couldn't be reasoned with. He also told me information about future suits, so I will be better prepared. I showed him very little of what I could do.
I told you to eat the lumping heart, A1nut!
Could you eat the heart of another human being? Answer with anything but NO, and I won't be sure I want to talk to you anymore.
(Doing Therapy)
Are you absolutely sure he was a human being?
Answer with anything other than NO, and I think you should probably recall the evidence to the contrary, ie riding a carriage led by flaming horses, owning pet dogs that dislocate their jaws and practically turn inside out.
Many cultures have believed that by consuming the heart of your enemy, you took on their power. You easily could have created a magic spell on the fly, the ritual of which involved saying a few words, cutting out, and consuming the heart of your fallen enemy; material, vocal, and somatic components, booyah.
Anyway, you didn't eat the heart, or else now you might be telling this guy to take a message to the Unseelie court that you're coming to them with a hundred pounds of C4 wired to your body and a detonator in your hand.
Going out with a bang is always a fun way to verse.
(sarc)But WE MUST have The Delicious COURAGE!!! IT gives US the POWER of MANLINESS!!(/sarc)
I always liked HAMMING it up. You can always use more HAM in a game.
So Kyler, you honestly believe that you could bring yourself to eat the heart? Human or not, whatever it was, that's not all that appealing. I did what I would do. I couldn't bring myself to eat it, and I seriously doubt you could either. If you honestly think you could........
(Doing Therapy)
Two
Regarding profanity, I'll keep that in mind. The thing with language though is that words can have so many meanings.
Saying "The baseball pitcher caught the ball" is fine.
Saying "The baseball pitcher has no balls." will likely anger him.
"You can prick your finger, but don't finger your prick."
George Carlin.
Then there are obscure words which don't mean what you think.
If I said "Kyler, you're behaving niggardly." I just know someone would accuse me of some manner of racism. In actually, I just called Kyler a coward.
(Doing Therapy)
The bit about eating the heart was a warning as to what would happen if he chopped the head off. If he'd eaten the heart, the same thing would have happened, but he would not have needed the magic sword to do it.
And he still would be the Huntsman,a nd thus bound by the Huntsman's restrictions 1. Must hunt those alone. 2. Cannot attack those not alone.
And the Unseelie Knight said the Huntsman was a cursed human being.
And the Fight is a Comic Book Trope. Two heroes meet each other, and don't know each other, and fight. Course, I didn't do it quite right, but I'm not sure I can pull of the Trope. So I did a Sub-Trope which would be more appropriate to Miami, but oh well.
So really, there was no way out of that, but eating the heart, I turn into the Huntsman? That's screwed up. I knew I should have emptied the clip into the guy on the horse.
(Doing Therapy)
Well, you could have killed the knight, and then ran off (which would have healed the Huntsman faster) and then looked for another way to do him in without triggering this doom. If you can survive till morning, you have all day till he can attack you again.
I suppose you could have just tied the Huntsman up, and then found a nice fresh foundation and dumped him into the concrete.
Oh yeah, Kyler, I don't want to hear anything about the "Pluck Ewe." Telling him to go gather female sheep is hardly profanity.
(Doing Therapy)
Um... actually, John, calling me niggardly would be calling me cheap; and you could even take it a step further and call me a niggard, if you were to witness me cutting corners to save money. (I would recommend not calling any of our African-American brothers and sisters niggards. In my experience it does not go over well.)
Looked it up on Dictionary.com. It seems you're right. Learn something new every day.
Mistake
Personally, I have always preferred "frugal" to "cheap" or "niggardly". Same point, but more a compliment than an insult. Frugal is actually one of my favorite words.
Another is "spatulate" -- adj., similar to or possessing qualities of a spatula.
One of my favorite words is "soldier". I just like the way it sounds when it rolls off the tongue.
Really? That's why I really love the word regurgitant! Because it rolls off the tongue!
Ahh, what a knee slapper.
Anyway, we should probably get back on topic.
@Kyler run by Adam: Hmmm... I wonder if the symbiote verse together or not...
@Katerina run by MJ: Kat in Japanese would probably be pronounced "Keito" or something but if the language is automatically translated "Cat" would be "Neko".
*****
No verser to my knowledge has ever begun the game naked.
And to that statement, I just smiled.
http://gamingoutpost.com/discussions/topic/the-character-generation-thread/page/3#post-11149
I also have the urge to make a gather world with slightly different rule than normal Multiverser but I do not want to overstep my boundaries or something.
As long as
1. You can imagine it
2. No mechanic-based rules apply only to the character
I wouldn't see a problem with it, I think. Then, many of my worlds are way out in left field.
About the language in Katerina's game, for ease everyone in the world speaks and has spoken English, I believe.
Eric, I just wanted you to know that someone got the pun.So I did a Sub-Trope which would be more appropriate to Miami, but oh well.
Also, Kyler, it's a sick one, but that was quite a turn of a phrase.
Kyler is right, the language in Kat's world is English. There is a completely different reason why the fact that she only knows the name "Cat" for herself is disturbing to the priest, but I'm not saying what it is lest it influence the player.
I'll bet that Kyler knows, and it's possible that Eli, Shawn, and anyone else who has either played or run one of the Dark Honor Empire game scenarios would figure it out.
--M. J. Young
I know exactly way her name is disturbing to the priest...
This is going to be fun to watch.
