Yeah I figured Bo Ring was worth a shot. =P
Flopping Fish is great fun too though.
Ok your numbers are up to date, so you can now make your decisions on what you are teaching based on an up to date sheet. :P
Untouchable, Ku-Fung, and Tsutsuji.
Quick stand, Sweep, Focused push.
Sounds good to me.
*They pick up on all that you teach, it takes a year of steady instruction but they all get to the 2@1 at all those abilities, the city is nearly built, six more months till it is complete with starport, and the robots can start on things like communication arrays to see if anyone is out there.*
That sounds perfect. Sounds like it's about time to try to get a building for my self-defense instruction, start charging people money (if money as much as exists), and make these professional students of mine trainers. Keeping an eye on the best of them for who I feel would properly use more aggressive styles, ie not use them unless in great need.
*Project Utopia used no money, and these people have no money. Right now you are dealing with a society that doesn't have those cornerstones. With a few hundred people, it's not needed, unless you want to get them to think about that for the future. The robots can build you a dojo. What traits are you looking for to determine which students you wish to teach aggressive styles?*
I'll tell the Captain that setting up an economic system beyond a communistic society or a barter economy will provide some incentive for future generations to desire to work to the best of their ability.
Self-discipline, honor, kind heartedness, pacifism, self-control, and temperance, to name a few. I wouldn't teach anyone I had a bad feeling about, to be sure.
((GE Roll 19))
*The Captain considers this*
"I am no economics expert, but I still believe in a utopian society, if we have what we need, we should encourage people to do what they are good at. We can use credits for luxury items, to encourage people contributing."
====================
*You have about 4 students that fit those stipulations, no one is evil, just ill suited according to your standards.*
Yes; ill-suited is a good term. I will invite those four to begin private lessons, just them, Cass, and me, and begin instructing them in Mitzu Frenzy.
*You notice Cass got good, scary good, it seems two hundred years of waiting, she was bored. She is in good spirits, and will help you however you want. She is fully able to be your instructing dummy and take it without worrying if you are going to hurt her.*
*When they are gone Cass says*
"Are you sure about this? They have just realized their Utopia was a scam? They might not be happy if other humans are alive."
"I've been teaching them all self-defense; the teachings of Mitzu Frenzy are that the bes defense is a good offense; you know that as well as I do...
"I think these students would only use these teachings if their lives were endangered, but if you feel differently, I'll certainly cancel the Mitzu Frenzy sessions."
*She shakes her head*
"Just playing demon's advocate, someone has to throw up a another viewpoint to give you clarity."
*She smiles*
"I enjoy seeing you try to help others, it's been awhile."
I smile to her. "I do what I can; it may not be enough when the rest of society finds us, but underground I'd always be concerned that something would go terribly wrong and we'd be trapped. At least up here we've got sky and sun and rain and land.
*She nods and smiles*
"Well I am with you regardless, well first they need to crawl to be able to walk. When they get back to what they consider is normal, maybe they can figure out what happened. All any of us know society was wiped from the face of this planet to the molecular level. That takes some real determination."
((17 GE roll))
*Things are quiet for a few months, the city and dojo are finished. They are working on communication arrays, a starport, satellites and a space telescope at this point.*
I tell the Captain, "It probably is a good idea for us to keep an eye on what's out there; as far as trying to contact other intelligent life goes, though, that might not be wise. Remember, something destroyed all the life on the surface of this planet; it could have been a more advanced race, or worse, other humans. At any rate, they'll want to take Utopia away and replace it with their ideas, if they don't want to utterly destroy it. The longer we stay off their radar, the better, I say."
*The Captain nods*
"It was our intention to monitor, not contact other human colonies and see if there is any comm traffic. As for the rest, the telescope will let us see far away, the satellites will help us communicate here as we expand, and the starport will be the first piece in order to get back into space once we deem that a step."
*Your training of the students is going well, you see Cass able to use a sword with her tail with her hands free in a style when she is messing around*
Yeah, I had noted that her tail was prehensile; it's good to see her making use of it.
I'll begin training the students in Flopping Fish, starting the training with the introductory question, "What do you do when your opponent knocks you to the ground?"
*The four of them, two men and two women stand there and try to answer your question.*
*Gary*
"Try to get up."
*Michelle*
"Knock them off theirs."
*Larry*
"Foot sweep them."
*Jillian*
"Kick them in the balls."
*They do not get Flopping fish the first day you try to teach it, it is too foreign 96*
J
Oh, no, not just the four of them; the whole class. Sorry, I guess that was unclear. Good to have the general answers though and the names of my Mitzu Frenzy students. Jillian's answer is a bit of a concern, though, so after class I'll ask Cass what she thinks of Jillian.
*Oh that roll was for your teaching, so none of the 10 got them*
*Cass smiles*
"I like her, she has spunk. If you are a woman and someone put you on your ass, they are likely a strong adversary. If someone put you on your ass and is still attacking, you would be wise to assume it was a fight for your life. She is assuming the adversary is a male, and well even for a female, that is a pressure point, so it's not a bad strategy."
*She pauses*
"If you are asking me if I think it is a problem, no, I think it's a natural reaction to a bad situation. When we first met, my answer would have been far worse, so take that for what it is worth."
I'm inclined to agree with her judgment. "Spunky, I agree. I do approve, but I'm simply concerned that she may use the teachings for self-gain one day.
*Cass shrugs*
"Well kicking an attacker in the balls doesn't have self gain other than not having his advances on her."
*Grins*
"Really Arj, these people don't have money, barley have a society, might want to consider that this is taking their minds off that they are alone."
"Yeah, you're right, of course. As usual." Smile and banish the thought. Continue teaching classes to adults and enourage my best four students to begin classes for interested children; I won't teach children, personally, because I dislike being around them.
I decorate the interior of the dojo to make it look nice, and put the sign "Cunning Fox Self Defense" on the building. Also, make uniforms for training and stitch Yanni's logo into them.
*You are able to get some time with the fabricators when people are sleeping and inbetween shifts. You are able to make a sign and uniforms, and any decorations inside.*
*Cass has no problem teaching kids, she feels that they need discipline as well, she will take point on that, leaving you to work on the adults. You see Cass has softened around the little ones, she doesn't have that hard evil edge she had all the time, it's now only reserved for combat*
"I see you've worked a lot with your humanity," I tell Cass with a smile. "You're really good with the kids. Just... keep them away from me," I grin.
*She smiles*
"Well I did have a lot of time, and I've been to a few more worlds. I spent a lot of that time, improving my combat skills, but I also embraced that I wasn't a Demon anymore. Kids are just small adults, just need to guide them the right way, and you have better adults."
*She grins*
"The kid shock therapy is a little less fun than the other therapy, but you also need to work on your violence therapy as well. I will get my Arj back to somewhat normal one way or another."
Bumpos
Bumpus
Bumpis
Bumpas
Really?
You forgot "Bumpes" =P that was the problem.
§
I tell her, "Yeah... you're right. I used to be fine around kids, and violence used to not be such a problem for me as it is. The first is a problem, I guess... the second is... well, yeah, it's a problem, too. So I'm willing to admit that it's a problem, and I admit that there's a higher power that can take the problem away." I motion to her. "So, what now?"
*she smiles*
"Well you can trust me to help you cure the problems for you, you won't like it, but I don't think your going to find anyone you can trust more than me to try to get you back to normal."
*She grins like she has a plan*
"I do trust you, love... not so much your wicked grin." I smile to her.
§
I don't say my name as often as she does, but I noticed she'd been calling me Arj recently, where before it was Az. I hadn't said anything since I say to myself, "Yes, that's her saying my name"; but it's Arziay; pronounciation R-Z-A. Ari, Arz, RZ, Z all make sense for nicknames off the cuff, but of course I won't correct her whatever she wants to call me; just making sure I clear up any pronunciation error =)
((We will go with Arz, easy for me to remember))
*The next day after training she takes you to the children's TV room, it is currently empty*
"Ok Arz, going to have you sit down and restrain you like the last time."
*If you let her, she duct tapes you to the chair, and hooks up her laptop to the TV.*
*She then signals your students who let in the kids for a marathon of wonderful TV.*
*She duct tapes your head into place*
*She starts small with the entire series of Care Bears, the kids are all around you, sitting on your lap, hanging off of you, and then she goes hardcore and goes to Barney, shall I make resistance checks to see how long you last?*
No, thanks, I just close my eyes and imagine I'm in a room with a bunch of nude midgets who have a children's television fetish.
*Sorry the music and dialog is enough to force checks, eventually your eyes will open, as you begin to enjoy it, last chance for the easy way, Cass has a workaround for your stubbornness.*
I can't much imagine finding children's tv more stimulating than imagining that I'm in a room full of nude midgets climbing in my lap, and this coming from someone well acquainted with children's tv. =p
No way to the easy way.
*Cass sighs*
"Ok Mr. Stubborn, this is for your own good."
*She opens your eyelids, and uses butterfly bandages to hold them open*
"Enjoy, I'll be back in eight hours."
*The images, they pierce your mind, and your sould*
