Akimitsu proves herself adept with a blade; not too suprising, considering she does own several kunai.
Valera comes in very late, ragged and worn. "I learned how to run up a tree today. Over and over and over again." She's almost too worn out to eat, but she does, and she showers and, finally, collapses into sleep, leaving you and Tan awake.
*To Tan*
"Well gotta give it to this training, but she really looks to be worked hard. I think aside from the training we got, your not going to find tougher trainers, and she will be the better for it. I wonder who her Jonin is? Perhaps I could start them out tomorrow, let them go all day, once we get to the point of repetition, I could substitute a shadow clone in and do recon on who the other Jonin are, and see what the other students are doing? What do you think, or you can do the recon, it is up to you sensei."
*smiles and sticks out his tongue at her playfully*

She rolls her eyes, and answers you, "Don't call me sensei. If you want me to look into who is training Val, I can do that for you, since it seems like I won't have much else to do for a while. That way, you can devote your full attention to the kids, and still find out what's going on."
*Nods*
"I figured to ask you, this part of the training is just repetition after they get it. Leave a shadow clone though, I don't want the kids having a reason to wonder why you slipped away. Not just hers, find out who the others are, just say you are helping out Jonin Jhiaxus, and say that you are not at the point of training that your needed for, and ask if you can watch for awhile. Truth be told, my knowledge of current events is 9 years from now, so I kinda want to know who is who, and be prepared like a good ninja."
*grins*
"Can I call you sexy tani then?"
*grins bigger*
She answers you, "I'll just tell them that I'm Tan, and I'm interested in seeing what the genin are supposed to be learning. No need to tip my hand just yet.
"Sure, you can call me that." She smiles.
*grins*
"That works for me, although your cunning mind is probably even more sexy than your physical appearance. It's intoxicating.
*smiles and cozies up with her*
She cuddles with you, a moment, then stands and starts to walk away, towards the front door, without a word. It takes you a moment of looking around to find something amiss, but you see Akimitsu's chakra moving outside the building by its heading, down towards the street.
*Sighs*
"Seems our work is never done, heads out, ready to hide, jump and tail her to see what is going on."

Tan's idea is different.
Akimitsu hits the ground noiselessly, and Tan says to her, "Your teacher has gone out on a limb to help you, and you repay him by sneaking out in the middle of the night? If something were to happen to you, he'd feel absolutely terrible. Why don't we go inside and tell him where you were going?"
Akimitsu responds by bursting into tears and throwing herself against Tan. Tan looks at you in your hiding place, seeming highly uncomfortable.
Akimitsu tells her while crying, "No one has ever been this nice to me before. I can't accept all this. It's too much, so I'm running away from the village."
Tan, still seeming uncomfortable, answers her, "Um, no. No, you're not. I had a hard childhood, too, much harder than yours, and I left the place I was born, too. I'm telling you, Akimitsu, that you aren't leaving because Jhiaxus...-sensei cares too much about you. Since he took you in, you're his responsibility, and he takes his responsibilities seriously."
Akimitsu cries a bit longer, and finally asks, "Can we not tell Jhiaxus-sensei about this?"
Tan says to her, "Absolutely not, Akimitsu. You're going to tell him yourself, and you're going to feel much better about it."
Tan pulls Akimitsu away from herself, holding her by the arms, and tells her, "Compose yourself." You witness a psionic ability Tan uses to instill calm in Akimitsu. Akimitsu dries her eyes, and Tan tells her, "Let's go inside and see your sensei."
*Watches and listens and sneaks back inside to wait for both of them, sitting on his chair, preparing to play his guitar, waiting for them to come back in*

Tan walks in with Akimitsu. Akimitsu does not seem distressed, but looks to have been crying. She tells you, "I was going to run away because I didn't know how to deal with the feelings I had about you helping me so much." She hangs her head to you. "I'm sorry."
*smiles*
"It's ok hun, I am helping you to give you every opportunity to become great, and because it is the right thing to do. I would have missed you and gone after you if you had. The safest place for you is right here. There are a lot of enemies out there, as well as ninjas with bad intentions. This is your home, we all have difficulty dealing with feelings at times. I would worry if you weren't hear, sleeping in a bed, eating meals with us. I maybe your sensei, but I do care. I didn't want to stroke your ego before, but you have the potential to be up there or exceed the Sannin. There is a downside to that, there is a very specific enemy of Leaf Village, who would turn everything you are into an abomination. For that reason alone, I would ask you to reconsider ever doing something reckless like that in the future."

Akimitsu nods her head. "Please, give me another chance, sensei. I feel terrible about having tried to sneak away after everything you've done for me."
Tan tells her, "Remember, Akimitsu: for those people who believe fortune never smiles on them, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy."
*smiles*
"Get to bed Akimitsu, there are other Jonin working other genin harder and longer than I am, and that isn't going to stand. So get some sleep, and in the morning, I will get you to walk on water."
*After she goes up to bed*
"Showing me a new side Tan, you are like a enigma, wrapped in an puzzle, wrapped in mystery."
*Smiles to her*

Akimitsu nods, and promises not to let you down.
Tan answers you, settling back in with you, "I've been around a very long time; I've learned to cope with a lot of different situations. I really don't like people crying on me, though."
*grins*
"I could tell your face looked like one of abstract terror. You are getting better around the kids, so I'll chalk that one up as a win for that column. On that note, I thought you said, you don't know any psionics or magic, what was that trick you used on Akimitsu?
*I am content to let the night run down and morning start*

She responds to you, "What, that? That was just a little trick I picked up to deal with women when I was going to rape them. It kept them from screaming, and helped them see reason." She looks like she thinks about what she just said, and says, "Ah, I hope you don't hold it against me."
The night wears on, Tan makes a move on you that you can't refuse; unless you do.
*shakes his head*
"I won't, but a little too much information there Tani."
*I will accept the move, since she was a mostly good girl yesterday*

well, she makes a move on you right there in the general living space; I presume you will deign to move the two of you to a more private location.

"We will find a private nook in which to have that move finish."

After the blackout, you take care of your business; on your way back to lay with Tan, you see that Akimitsu is awake; if she had used the Alert Rest, that makes sense, you realize, checking the time.

You do breakfast after sunrise, and move to the training grounds, just you and Akimitsu. Chiko is right on time. Bairei is late again.
*smiles*
"Bairei, you will be pleased to know starting tomorrow Jonin Tan will also be helping me train you guys. Tan can't stand tardiness, be prepared to have her fetch you ever morning and carry you over her shoulder so you are on time. I have seen her do this many times in the past."
*pauses*
"Please state the results of your homework."
*After they say what they need to*
"Ok now today we are going to take the training you guys did running up things, and apply that training for walking on water. We will be on the lake today, training that important skill. Once you guys get that down, we will go over the last part of ninja movement, and that is the great jump."
*Will take the to the lake and show them how this is done*

Both of the boys did their homework. Chiko's family knew a jutsu which temporarily increases the user's speed, and Bairei's claims knowledge of an immoveability skill. Chiko's family are attuned with water, and Bairei's with earth.
Akimitsu and Chiko get it, but Bairei first falls through the surface of the water, then finally gets it.
Akimitsu does better than the other two, and it's noticeable; where they're walking slowly and carefully across the water, she's doing a martial arts form on it.

Akimitsu has no trouble jumping and almost clears the lake, but lands lightly on the surface.
On their first attempts, Chiko and Bairei both fall in the lake. Chiko makes it his third try, and Bairei his second; neither clears the lake, and Bairei lands with a big splash.
*smiles at them*
"Very good, once you all can walk up, walk on, and jump on most any surface, then we can work on honing your combat skills. Being a ninja is about knowing the intanbiles first. Once we know them, then we work on the Jutsus.
*I will continue having them use and practice all three of those skills, until they can fight using any of them at the same time. giving them encouragement and tips when they need them*

In the long run, Akimitsu is doing much better than either of the boys. You hear Bairei muttering under his breath about preferential treatment.

"You awake now? So lets try this again, this time, I want you two to sit cross legged with your hands facing upward, facing each other, and we'll have a discussion about favoritism if you two can't get this."

Both of them fail again; Chiko less badly than he did the first time, but Bairei falls asleep again.
